- One of the newest trends in music is rappers releasing songs on Instagram... however, the social media app was not designed for listening to music. So then why are the biggest rappers such as Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Kanye West, and Playboi Carti all posting new music on Instagram?

Yo thank you!
😂
way better than fantastic hip hop bro 😂
called this nga "RUclipsr" yo im cryin 😭😭😭😭
@immnnuelnigga isn’t that what it’s called?
This guy sounds like LA girl talking bout her new gym membership
I think the reason bigger artist are dropping on Instagram is because most of their platforms have been messed up by their labels, whether its by bots, ads or a bunch of playlist.
The new programme is artist selling directly to their fans, so these bigger artist now need to see how many of the millions actually transfer over to a new profile easily. That gives them a better understanding on how much leverage they have.
Their next step is collecting all that data.
people who don't use IG are late to IG drops. because we gotta wait for that one dude to unofficially upload the song to youtube or spotify 😭
Is people who don't use Instagram a thing
Yes yes we are lol
@@Nohypocrites at least you use Twitter?
@@KieryGod Yea. I've never used IG or Tik Tok in my whole life. I'm 23 btw
everyone on Earth uses instagram
a majority of the chiraq drill diss songs used to be a facebook
yea in 2010/11
@@jerseygetsherwetter345 yea its been a method longer than we think that's my point
@@jerseygetsherwetter345 not just in 2010-11 a majority of those old videos that are scattered in random youtube channels (these channels aren't the ones who shot the film either it was just someone who took it from facebook)
Example: The Lil Jojo BDK music video
Carti releasing on insta cuz he forgot his spotify password 😭😭
I think he also forgot his ig password 🙏
Maybe Meta will include a music streaming service inside Instagram in the future and the big artists and labels are the first that get to know that.
So they can finally outcompete TikTok and all music streaming platforms.
This would be devastating though for smaller artists because for them it would be like fighting in the colosseum.
Monopolistic dystopia.
Oh fuck no. That sounds even when worse than how we receive music now. Possible tho, idk if they care that much
Will be great door smaller artists
And my friends tried to tell me it made no sense doing that 2 years ago 😂
Bold British dude aggravating as shit 😂
hes called Blackhaine i think and he has been on stage with both kanye and carti
why?
@@marco3391 “NEW CARTI DROPPING .. TONIGHT !!!!
Carti likes bald white people
Honestly hoping it ends it’s so annoying they have music and are intentionally inconveniencing they’re fans

4:59 I haven’t listened all the way through so maybe u do address it BUT, a major factor behind recent IG releases is bc it allows artists to release music, without their record labels interfering. Carti can drop the music HE wants without his label editing/cutting. Same for Kendrick and Drake - since they’re both signed to UMG, the only way to bypass their outright ‘GTFO’ is to drop first on IG, pump up the hype for the beef. Then UMG can’t outright stop them from continuing it.
With that being said, I am super glad I found this channel. Your content do be pretty good
the vid does mention
Kendrick not signed to UMG hes DISTRIBUTED by UMG... It's completely different, for example he turned GNX in the day it came out cause besides putting it on platforms hes controls everything not label people or heads..
This a fire ass SoundCloud commercial
ong 😭😭
I was wondering why carti
This has to be one of the comments of all time
@@thelistener2909 one of the what?
chills…
You played that yelling dude so many times... aghh
1 time was already too much
fire
❤️❤️
Man i been doing this because people never wanted to go to SoundCloud or RUclips.
Well this is why i started, i’m on all platforms now but it’s all free music that will now be IG exclusives due to the fact i own only the lyrics.
Ye is teaching Carti how to play the direct consumer game without getting finessed in the industry.Dame Dash taught Ye now Ye teaching Carti 🙏🏽
Great vid and maybe u knew this but Purp and Lil mosey weren’t allowed to drop on streaming platforms because their labels didn’t think the music was good enough and as time has gone on it’s clear why. They posted loads on instagram saying F the label for not letting them drop so they’d drop on soundcloud which is good but the songs didn’t move anyone and eventually the labels released them and you’d then expect them to drop whatever they wanted to which is good in theory but it flopped. Soundcloud is still a good platform for artists who are just being mistreated by their labels but those 2 artists weren’t allowed to drop for a different reason
tyler the creator did it first with DOGTOOTH, SORRY NOT SORRY ETC. BACK IN MARCH OF 2023 BUT I GUESS PEOPLE FORGOT ABOUT IT
chance a few years before
nope
Bro noggas was doing this in face book days before ig came to light back in the chi raq drill days(before chief keef was keef) and many others too 😂 this has been a thing for a long time
kanye in 2022 with censori overload
@@SamiDaComposerthese is all casuals lol they jus talkin to hear theyself.
i love your videos
I appreciate you watching them 🙏🏻
ima start dropping on instagram
Continued success and prosperity youngn! Salute 🫡
First person to ever drop a whole song was A$AP Rocky when he dropped the music video with Playboi Carti
I tried it 2 years ago, got alot of exposure. Might do it again but producing and writing isn't my bread winner. If life circumstances weren't as bad I could've invested more into a strategy, but hey live and learn
tf we gon get instagram music 😭😭
instagram needs to see this
why isnt this going viral?
Dude, this is not a video worthy of going viral. Literally, none of these guys' videos went viral. It's a pretty big expectation from someone who's never gone viral
Good vid bro
Thanks bro 🔥
it's because they don't need to clear samples on IG, so it's far easier to release on there eg. 6:16 in la has samples from drakes dad playing the guitar, which he would obviously never clear for kendrick to drop officially, so kendrick leaves it on insta because he legally can't put it on streaming services
The narrators voice is not for me
tf u mean he just sounds like a normal dude 😭
15:30 answer
Mixtape sites and MySpace filled this space in the day
13:55 Idk where u got that info from, that Spotify is one of the highest paying music streaming platforms, but it's absolutely false. Spotify barely pays us artists, compared to all the other platforms, and they even have beef with Drake because he was being vocal about their greediness. Tidal pays the most to artists, then Apple Music, them Amazon Music, then RUclips music, THEN Spotify, being one of the lowest paying only $0.003 - $0.005 per stream.
They just tryna be different
wish they just drop normal
I literally use to watch my full songs on insta
Carti started it if you wanna say rocky did think again he posted PLAYBOI CARTI song not his and the carti went on with it and then drake and kendrick followed
There's no question they're getting paid SOMEHOW by posting music on they platform
when did corpse husband care about the rap industry
Whatever happened to Jay Rock? His last single was Nov last year and his last album was 2018 he just kinda disappeared. I know he was jus at the TDE Christmas concert but no new music???
I hope he’s getting ready to drop cuz Dot Ab Soul Dochii and even Schoolboy Q all released this year
great vid
good lord, 16 minutes, spit it out
ADHD much?
@@INeedlessI LOL
thsi video couldve been under 3 minutes the dragging is insane
I been doing this for years now
when artists glaze carti no one bats an eye but when i do it its gay
12:43 carti dont give a fok about his fans so im not suprised if he keeps doing this ;-;
about anything*
Drake dropped on finsta as a screw off to his label u should know that
He fr didn’t mention its a way to fight back against the labels. Did gang not read the petitions
low attention spans perhaps
I blame the SoundCloud wave where artists like XXXTentacion would drop tracks that are 1 minute and 32 seconds. He claimed that it made the fans crave more, which makes sense, but you're also cultivating a fan base with what you mentioned... Low attention spans, which you really don't want as an artist.
Just look at Ice Spice performances when she isn't hitting her emote.
@@ak-jxrdy-7nah I’m convicted it was way before that just bc of this instant gratification & smartphone era we live in
we all know people download Instagram reels and post them on youtube and other places. so the inconvenience for the fans isn't that big of a deal. the music that is being put out on Instagram is a clear way to bypass the music streaming industry, wich these big artists don't have to rely on anymore to keep being relevant. as for the money, if you have fans, you will sell out shows so that's enough to live well i guess
They clearly have some sort of contract with Insta, otherwise this sht makes no sense
Playboi carti went from being one of the coolest rappers to one of the most annoying toxic enigmas I’ve ever seen
I swear this guy voiceover is the one that does those cop videos
Rocky started this trend basically with Our Destiny with Carti
Bro what was the secret? You just randomly pulled some facts with no argument or conclusion
kanye was first with that censori track
Asap rocky is the first to do this in 2022
An I think they label won’t get a cut of it so anything that they make on ig is 100% the artist.
Because they are soft promos. They are meant to be talked and spark headlines and not really meant to be constantly listened to. That’s why All Red by Carti was such a big deal even though we’ve recieved like 6 songs before that making All Red Playboi Carti’s highest charting solo song
Dope content
>(they) not like us

>Take the 5 guns.

I believe it’s to avoid being boted and avoiding copyright issues like with TikTok.
3:44 wh3n kendrick dropped 6:16 in LA coincidence 😂
It was on purpose
Kanye was the first one he dropped a song on ig in 2022
Don’t let Soundcloud die guys
Yeezy set the trend
Literally left IG not long ago. 😂
Shit was starting to feel real off putting.
There’s a weird surveillance/judgemental vibe when you log on to IG

IG songs are throwaways
ACTUALLY BOB WAS FIRST TO RELEASE A WHOle ALBUM ON IG IN 2020
in carti case he just dont wanna drop
Kanye and Carti broke the code.
kanye is the 1st who did this by releasing Someday We'll All Be Free
Nah lowkey rocky did it first
It was ye who started this trend in 2023 when he dropped ( we’ll all be free ) in ig and he deleted after couple days
I don't care about Instagram anymore. Great video
Carti started it first dropping music late 2023 on insta
No its kanye

First starting this was asap rocky in 2022.
nobody care bout this guy
you can’t even drop this video rappers been doing that before famous ppl underground rappers started this
this is just a carti slander vid lmao
14:20
Dropped the ball here. There's a reason and you just don't know why. Bummer.
Obviously, a Drake fan, you know, followers don't mean shit? What do followers have to do with rap beef? Talk about the beef, not the followers. The followers don't mean shit after Drake was obviously destroyed
ye and carti been doing this?
They all took this trait from carti for no reason
playboi never releasing
YOU KNOW WHAT ELSE IS MASSIVE????
Carti started it
Faxxx
This is not a trend LMFAO people been doing this
