I loved how he said that God is likely to give us what we want or something better.

I learned we hear 3 voices the good, the bad, and the questioning and confused one. We are the questioning ones. God bless you both for your enlightenment.

The first time I ever heard of The three voices in our head was from John Pontius. It was so enlightening! But you have added a little bit more of a dimension to it. Thank you!

This was an answer to prayer. I had just begun a fast asking the LORD to help me with my thoughts. I thank Him and you!

Such a wonderful empowering discussion. I have some work to do on reframing and replacing many of my thought patterns. My Dad has taught me from an early age to “Dream big!” and this demonstrated why that’s important. Basically dream and think big to create big with heavenly help. Thank you ❤

I have experienced depression off and on for the last thirty years. Medications don't help much. Is it possible that depression is a spiritual disorder.....that it is from the adversary....that one can overcome it by this process of dismissing thoughts and creating new ones?

I can only speak for me. It was a chemical issue. Once I got on the right medication in the right dosage my depression vanished.

The hymn says, "Choose the right! Let no spirit of digression
Overcome you in the evil hour."
I've had spirits of various negative aspects influence me. I spoke that I will not allow a negative spirit to be with me and a depression left. All things are spiritual to the Lord.

100% yes!! You'd be amazed at how much of an effect our thoughts have on our mental wellness. It takes a lot of work and a lot of practice to learn how to reframe thoughts for our betterment, but it makes a huge difference in my day to day mental state when I'm making those efforts. Some may benefit from medication, but all can benefit by changing thought patterns to align better with truth. If you don't like the way you feel, change your thoughts! It takes a lot of practice, but is well worth it.

I personally had a tender miracle, struggling with PTSD, barely able to function. It was a spiritual sickness, and I needed our Master Physician. I would’ve answered much differently just a few weeks ago. It’s the most beautiful gift; to feel no anger, hurt, or disappointment. To have my relationships so healed. He continues to guide my mind to Him. I pray that you will one day feel the same grace to help heal your personal strifes❤️

I have much respect to your mother for respecting your father’s agency to worship or not worship with the church members and that not be a condition for her love. 💕
