Tony Hylton I would like to say thank you!! For sharing your story with us drivers, and thank you Chris for your work to make this things happen. I get an emotional feeling of brotherhood with all of you.
Tony Hylton you built one hell of a truck. I would like some feedback on a situation with a 03 KW W 900 6 AXLE DUMP. Im running salt down at Cargill in the Flats but wanted some info on this truck im running
Tony Hylton Thank you for sharing your story and history of you and your family. That's an Awesome truck you're driving. 1100 hp to the ground, I'm impressed. And Chris great job as always. Thx. J. R. OTR Driver
wow C18 finally some one using a marine engine and taking it too the next level honestly i thought it was C15 700hp+ or with industrial injection or with C18 injectors or something crazy like that but this something special of the charts. NO average driver can go toe toe with this guy. 625hp acert or 7cz 600hp is more than enough, but a C18 man speechless. my favorite video yet
I couldn't understand what type of motor he mentions at 5:45 on the vid. Aero? Also, when the ECM is turned up for extra HP, does that void warranty, etc.? Since there is more stress on the engine, I would think it would. That beast must add lots of weight, too.
C-18 weights the same as a 3406E or C-15 or C-16, give or take a few pounds depending on brackets and other stuff unrelated to the block, is the same block for all those engines, newer models are a bit lighter and stronger casting but basically the same weight.
Talking bout givin someone their first job.... seems EVERYBODY... wants somebody with EXPERIENCE! But SOMEONE... has to GIVE THEM that experience. No matter WHAT industry.
I don't know Tony or his dad, but simply based on the things he said about him, especially being willing to give a guy his first job knowing there's a chance he's gonna have some pricey repairs, I have an immense amount of respect for them. The world needs more people like them. And thank you for giving us a window into who the guys are that keep the country supplied. Love all your videos
I'd hafta say of all of your videos, this one is my favorite. A 2016 389 Glider with a 1,300 horse C18. Wow. It just can't get any better than this. And the guy sounds like such a humble, salt-of-the-earth kind of guy. He sounds truly blessed and grateful for his life, his parents, and his employer. They sound like a very hard-working family. This truck certainly is the muscle behind the hustle. Great video!
Well, I've pretty much been binge watching since finding this channel. Great content, photography, and down right good service you give to these truckers to have a voice. They deserve respect on the road and a genuine American "thank you" from all of us who depend on them. Thank you, Chris, and thank you truckers.
Im a fleet owner and i would hire Tony is a heart beat the guy is so humble and greatful i can see why his boss likes him enough to allow him to build this truck
your videos are great..!!! you seem to find the humble drivers that have great stories and shared their experience behind the wheel. you also capture the young generation with knowledge behind the wheel from their peers. love the work you do out there on the rd and giving us the stories they share with us 👍
Your welcome. I may not get to reply to everyone's comment here, but I do read them. I try to select guys that will really make for a great story and yes humility certainly helps that person to be accepted as genuine by the viewers.
I love truck from I was five hear old and I have not got the chance to drive one but I still love it and I hope one day I get the chance to drive one as my job and even own one
I’m new to trucking industry.. been driving for 6 months now. i haul containers in the tri state area. Quick question tho..... I’ve been hearing that CAT doesn’t make new tractor engines ... so how does he have a (2016 )389 with a c-18 Cat ? I’ve been hearing cat stop making specific engines for tractors since early 2000’s ... any one want to inform me ?
New truck and sounds like an old school driver. All adds up to Pure Gold. When I first got into this, nearly 40 years ago, there were a lot more guys around like this. When I see some of the stuff I see these days, I just kind of have to think back and remember that. Props to Mr. Hylton, as they say.
this is by far my favorite rolling interview. not just because the tractor is badass, but because of the driver's story and commentary. it broke my heart at the end when he talked about the guy out of school going on a road test and not being able to work due to being taught on an auto. if they had put me behind an auto when I went to school, I would have refunded my money then and there. it saddens me the direction big trucking is going.
Nice to hear a Cleveland native trucker on your video Chris! Love the videos as always keep'em coming. I have loved trucks since I was little. Out of high school I wanted to hit the open road. The opportunity just never came my way. So I live through your videos at what a truckers life is like. Who knows, but getting older!
I watch you videos all the time. I just started driving on my 4th week solo. When I came in to trucking all I knew about was stick shaft. The company I went with put me in a automatic truck and now all I want to drive is automatic. My family started me in this trucking life. I worked 17yrs welding and couldn't get trucking out my heart. I can say watching your videos did help with the push to doing what I love even if the truck is not a stick.
I loved the interview from the radio thats badass 😎. The driver very humble and the interviewing gentleman had all the right questions 👏. I have a C18 setting in my shop ,new and ready to work . I thought about finding a blown engine big truck and going from there. Never know maybe one day. Loved your video 🇺🇸 and to think people hate this country. Blows my mind.
I'm in a CDL school right now to get my class A license. We learn on a straight 10 so that when we go to get a job we can drive a stick shift or an automatic. I've never driven a stick shift so my instructors said I would be a little easier to teach because I wouldn't have any bad habits from driving just a normal 6 or 5 speed. We just learned shifting today driving around in a parking lot. I can do it but it's gonna take some more time getting used to.
Great story......loved trucks all my life almost. My uncle was in the hay trucking business many years ago. Still hoping to get a ride in Pete or KW conventional with a CAT under the hood. It`s on my bucket list......Love that your Mom and Dad both drive. They sound like super good people.
my future job will be a truck driver. and I will hopefully be doing long haul.my dad was trucking for a company called N.W. Bedding its located in medical lake, WA. then there was another company called Wilcox farms their main plant is located in Roy, WA. and I just love the good old "choke and puke" stops. the best part of being a trucker is sleeping in your truck and listening to the truck.which in reality is like a white noise. and I love listening to the truck shift its really peaceful. so any chance I can get to find videos like this it brings back memories for me.
well i am from another corner of world. got here to video as i love peterbilt 389. wow great truck. but this interview... great. both persons sounded so humble, manly and true to their hearts. atleast i felt like that. found family and human element in the conversation. you never from where you can find out pleasant things. look here that 389 got me here and it ended me liking the conversation more so.
Great advice at the end there. I grew up around trucks all my life as well my dad has always owned dump trucks. So naturally I went into the family business, learned how to drive at an early age.
What a great outstanding interview I'm giving both of you guys Chris and Tony high fives love your videos love the people who you interview keep up the good work looking forward to more great interviews God Bless America.
14:45 - 15:50 one of the biggest problems in the industry today. Newbies today don't want to respect the true operation of a big rig, they just want to hop in an automatic and drive around any how texting and driving P S I'm not an automatic hater! I just believe every driver should learn and respect a traditional operation of a big rig.
mansonny122333 ima newbie been driving almost seven years but grew up around trucking and sad to say my generation that’s in it now they don’t nothing but Automatic and reverse they don’t pull over if you broke down none of the chivalry that used to go on!!!
I love to see that this is from joplin because I live there, and we dont get a whole lot of attention aside from the tornado that ripped through in 2011.

Frank Swain , yes that kinda HP upgrade would void a factory warranty. Ya gotta pay to play lmbo!

I live in Joplin, Missouri and therefore immensely enjoyed the 2016 Super Rigs Truck Show every year back to 2008 along with the Trucker Jamboree.
I'm young, but I've always admired trucks, love em. And these videos are awesome!!

That was worth the effort for tony. And that Pete that he knows so well to do that interview. Very moving.

Nice truck, I like the blue light switch.
I personally don't like the glider kits but still with that said this is one sweet ads truck especially with her lights on and that engine
Being a young driver myself, I can't deal with automatic trucks. I think its definitely a necessity for everyone with a class a.
