I'm happy Robin was always so honest and expressive. He made sitting through Letterman, and others, bearable.

His daughter, Zelda, seems to have picked up a measure of his humour.

On an interview he said one of his boys was a writer & the other was studying acting.

Oh jeez I read the title 1998 and was confused throughout the whole video thinking ’didnt the film come out in 88’ then when the video ended i’m like ’I’m so stupid’. Lol

It's interesting that the audience is really not into it. I think they were apprehensive before Good Morning maybe? Interesting Letterman interview regardless. Wayyyy different later on

i prefer Robin's interviews on Johnny Carson's show.

agree. I feel that Letterman is a little slow. you can tell he only gets half of what Robin is saying. They don't seem to enjoy each others company a whole lot either.

@@Xbigmike17X you are so very wrong. They have known each other for decades, back when Dave and him would do stand up together. Robin even got Dave spots on the 70's TV show Happy Days and also Laverne & Shirley. I think there's a story mentioned on video somewhere is that Dave saved Robin from either a drug or booze overdose.
The kind of "at arms length" demeanor of Dave is just Dave. Carson was the same, once the cameras are off Johnny would just head off away from people.

Good Morning Vietnam was his peak. Never such a mix of laughs and drama in his films again.

that's not true at all. almost all his films possessed both comedy and drama. That's why this man is considered a performance geniouse. Not just a comic

Obviously he was trying to tone down his interviews at this point. I didn’t agree with his politics but he was never mean spirited about it. He has made me laugh out loud literally hundreds of times. Wasn’t afraid to make fun of anyone which is the way it always was supposed to be.
