I'd argue that more than IQ, being observant and giving attention to details are more important. Almost all solution to the puzzles were hinted or just right in front of you, you just have to realize them 😄 But most games don't require these things so many players have a hard time dealing with the puzzles in Outer Wilds. And by the way, I myself looked up some of the solution which I highly regretted 😆 But I just wasn't in the right mindset when I played it so I got impatient. Good thing there was a DLC so I made sure I finished that by myself 😄

I think even though the game was initially overshadowed by The Outer World, fast forward 4 years and Outer Wilds still has dedicated fans talking about it and thinking about it, while The Outer Worlds has a "decent Fallout clone but nothing special" kind of reputation.
I didn't have to look up much, but most of it was connected to the towers on hourglass twins. The weird double towers were highly annoying for me because I couldn't get it to work until I read how to do it. I also didn't know you could change the frequency on the radio telescope, so that was a wild surprise. I don't think the game is underrated or a hidden gem, it's just getting old which is the most common death for story based games there is. I don't think any of my googling made the game worse since I felt like everything I googled I wouldn't have figured on my own in a reasonable time (I can drop games quickly). Anyway good video.
