Taylor has been around for 17 years. Her non fans forgot she isn't a kid anymore. You aren't the only one who does that. She considers herself a songwriter above everything. She writes or co-writes all of her songs and some for others, she produces some of her music and directs some of her videos too. She knows she isn't a dancer. That is why she doesn't do it much. The production on all of her tours is top notch. She owns her production company. She uses her team and hires other companies to help.
False God from Saturday Night Live is a great performance to check out.
Also No Body No Crime lyric video is great.

@chloewu2760 "Lover, Folklore, Evermore, Midnights.." These are not songs, some little teeny bopper writes. She didn't get to where she is by continuing to write like she's 17 years old. ( I still liked some of her stuff, but I got hooked a little later on by REPUTATION. It nailed me!)
She is a genius. She's a poet. You don't get to where she is by being an airhead.
She's a full-grown woman. 34 years old. She writes like one. You don't win 14 Grammys, 4 albums of the year, which makes her the only artist to do so. 40 AMA'S making her the only artist to do so. The other artist to come close was Michael Jackson with 26. 40 Billboard Music Awards. Oh... And just one more thing..
Swift was included in Time 100 three times (2009, 2015, 2019), and she has registered 118 Guinness World Records as of December 2023.

Taylor is SUPPPERRRRR detailed. She doesn't half a** anything. She's said before vixen isn't really her thing. It's just not what she's naturally like. So I love that she took that and did it in a way that she was more comfortable with ... this sort of Chicago vibe she has here. ...Like nothing is sexier than when the moves are more natural and you're actually feeling it. She's feeling it here. I love the song False God for a change up from what you might think she sounds like. It has a jazzy thing to it.

The greatest thing about Taylor is first and foremost her story telling. And she knows that too. The second greatest is her desire to try risks from a musical stand point. She started country so her debut album, and fearless are our country. Speak now is country with like a punk/alternative edge to it. Red is country but making the move into pop, 1989 is 80s inspired pop with probably her biggest hit singles from it. And 1989 is where she can start having fun with choreography. Reputation is her edgy pop experiment with hip hop/edm more dark sounds, lover is back to bubble gum pop music. Folklore and evermore are indie pop more focused on story telling and midnights she goes back to pop again but it’s very experimental from a production stand point, especially if you listen to the deeper cut songs ( for example: glitch or high infidelity) on the midnights till dawn edition.

The thing with Taylor that some who aren't too familiar with her, is that she is her own boss and has a team. She got to have creative control from the start when a man who didn't even have a record label yet but was in the process of wanting that dream to happen, heard her at a bar and she was the first artist he wanted. She wanted to design the stage in her visions, tell her stories, create album concepts, tell her producers how she wanted the beats and sound to be. She was already so talented very young and kept on getting better in every way. The criticism she was receiving has always made her stronger, weaving stories in her "life's music" with different genres, feels, vibe against it all. Love, friendships, health, the haters, media, playing characters etc. Each having its own vibe yet it's always "Taylors" sound that she has. There's a lot of Taylor "lore" to get behind the music to discover and it all weaves into the person she truly is, has been, grown into, struggles with etc. Mainly in love. :)

Also to understand her is to listen to her younger true self in her music even if it sounds "girly" or "young" when she was younger.. you look past the words castle, prince, etc and you see a great smart wise songwriting and able to tap into feelings that adults can relate to. They can touch your soul. Like when I became a fan.. during 1989 Actually ( since hearing Blank Space) i went back listened to her old stuff and thats what turned me into a man even though I was 29 at the time. Like the song "Cold As You" finally a song that said the exact feelings of what I have experienced. There was no artist ever that could explain that. Also in the song Tied Together With A Smile. The line "I heard that love was all you wanted. Coz you're giving it away like it's extra change. Hoping it would end up in his pocket. But he leaves you out like a penny in the rain. Coz its not his price to pay". And I was like "Daaaaaamnnnn" touchez the feels AND bars and smart lyrics too. I knew she was special and different.

When Taylor started to put choreography that she would do (not just the dancers) it was initially fueled by alot of criticism about her being uncoordinated, can't dance, or doesn't have rhythm etc. In response she didn't just add it here or there, or just a song or 2. She worked really hard on the production side to learn it. A slight F-you if you will to people being so awful. I am not sure that she is going to make it something super difficult for future tours/performances, the physical demand is already crazy. And I don't see those people who want to say such things are performing 3.5 hr concerts back-to-back-to-back.
I think you fall in to this in between space that alot of people used to be in before this tour. Especially her being put in the "country" genre. She was really young to be kept in that box, so any deviation pissed off country fans but the "pop" fans weren't that accepting of her either. Now she donated 5 million on tour to different charities in the cities she performed in and people got mad.

Every album has a totally original vibe & her Era's tour consists of 44 songs from across all of her albums. She is a beast This song is about the guy Scooter Braun that got her catalog of music. She got even. She rerecorded her old songs & helped his ex, divorce him. LOL As for the sets She has one that looks like water & she just dives into the floor when she is done. So cool.

I would like to hear your reaction on the current Eras tour TTPD set (the entire show 😉 really) she added to the show as of May 9th. Thanks for your content.

So many people diss Taylor thinking she is still that 17 year old country pop singer. No one realizes she has grown up and is doing much more sophisticated stuff.
Vigilante Shit is a perfect video to do showing she is a full grown woman and a sexy woman.
The song is about how she took down Scooter Braun, the man who tried to own her and her music. And the dance is a traditional Chair Dance from Burlesque. It fits the mood and the revenge plot of the song. It makes her look strong and in control.

    • @DianeLake-sw3ym

The sex Appeal is smartly presented. So many of today's women singers are showing their asses and breasts thinking it is sexy. And maybe it is to a degree but, a woman presenting sex appeal like Taylor is more sexy. She is in a body suit and singing seductive but, showing nothing. It makes for men wondering and finding her more appealing.
They say a woman who has sex appeal does not need to show her prizes. She is more seductive leaving a man to wonder. For his imagination. Showing all of what you have does not leave any mystery and a man already knows what you have. That Is the key I think. Not covering her totally up but, leaving the goods covered for a man to wonder is what makes it even better.
The most famous stripper was in the 30s and 40s and she was known as Gypsy Rose Lee. She left them wanting more and that was the key and made her a smart cookie.
She made alot of money and was very famous in the day because of her way of doing the strip tease

Nice job! I’ve subscribed and am looking forward to seeing you do more Tswift reactions. Many people don’t realize that Taylor’s music ranges over several styles and genres (pop, country, folk, alt, indie, rock…). I don't know which genres you will like, so I will offer samples of several.
BTW: Her live performances and music videos are both fantastic. I would suggest that, ideally, you should plan on doing a combination of music video and live performance for each TSwift song whenever both exist.
Here are some classic examples of fan favs:
Don't Blame Me - Taylor Swift • Reputation Tour
    ruclips.net/video/seOJleBbf-U/видео.html
Taylor Swift - intro + look what you made me do # live reputation tour
    ruclips.net/video/1WhDBaBWlnc/видео.html
Look What You Made Me Do (official music video)
    ruclips.net/video/3tmd-ClpJxA/видео.html
(BTW: The music video for "Ready For It" is fantastic.)
Here are some examples of her range of musical styles and genres. This is a long list. Perhaps Jamie can fine-tune and prioritize?
Taylor Swift - "False God" (Live on Saturday Night Live / 2019)
    ruclips.net/video/kjD3LoXp-Pw/видео.html
Taylor Swift - this is me trying (the long pond studio sessions)

Taylor Swift - august (folklore : the long pond studio sessions | Disney+)

All Too Well (Live From The 56th GRAMMYs 2014)
    ruclips.net/video/vQI67092qvI/видео.html
Taylor Swift - no body, no crime (Official Lyric Video) ft. HAIM
    ruclips.net/video/IEPomqor2A8/видео.html
Taylor Swift - Haunted (Speak Now World Tour) - a fun, melodramatic performance from years ago:
    ruclips.net/video/rdO7uFT6Bh8/видео.html
I highly recommend watching the Eras Tour movie, once you are familiar with a bunch of her fan favs and biggest hits. I also highly recommend watching Miss Americana (the documentary on NetFlix).
At some point, when you want some LOLs, you seriously need to see her monologue song:

MTR was the most poetic and polite of saying, "Try me, bro, see what happens."
Vigilante Shit is MTR 2.0, "Weren't you listening? Let me be a little more blunt this time."

I think maybe Taylor has set this like pole dancers and strippers to make a point - enticing the men with the sensuality, then telling them in no uncertain terms she's not dressing for them and she has come to get a litle payback. The song is based on the real episode where she helped her ex producer's wife to get the goods on his cheating and fraud.
