Hi Kat, I just finished my rescue course, and you were right. Rescue course is the best... Fun, challenging, emotional at the same time... Doing search patterns, surfacing an unconscious diver, giving rescue breaths while towing to shore and carrying, is a lot of work... But after I managed doing all that, and my instructor said I did a good job, I really feel that I've actually achieved something... All the stuff learned in this course really makes me a better diver... I really recommend it...
Hi Kat. I just completed my EFR certification last December 2023. I finished my theory part in rescue diver course, then will proceed with the practical part. This video is really of so much help.
I did my basic in 2018. My advanced in 2019. Today I started my rescue course. Woohoo!!! I’m hoping when I go on my Little Cayman trip in October I will be certified there as a Master Diver. I forgot to mention. It will be my first ocean dive. Lol. So can’t wait.
Hi Katt, thanks for the info . I subscribed. I’m glad to know you not only discuss about diving but also about sustainability, environment , conservation and marine biology.
I completed the rescue Diver course last weekend.got to say it was a brilliant course when you realise how much everything you've learnt comes together.i did mine in water with not so good vid 2 meters if you was lucky and to find a diver in that vis was hard work.It was the bubbles that gave his position away.once again brilliant course and was fun to do as well
i took my advanced course in the start of this year and will take rescue diver in April, looking forward to it:D the end goal is to become a instructor^^
Here in Monterey California they have to put up signs on the beaches to tell people they are doing Rescue Diver training and people still call 911 occasionally
I'm an PADI open water diver currently doing my advance open water course. In order to do rescue certification I need to complete my EFR certification also. I'm very much excited to do my rescue diver course and want to explore the hidden paradise under water.
How nice to do a complete weekend. As a team member of a disaster relief team of the Netherlands Red Cross i did a few of similar weekends for training and team building purposes. (First aid would not be a problem) It always a lot of fun. Same as you telling at dinner or breakfast some scenarios. We where staying in a hotel and we would like to do a night training with evacuating the hotel but the manager didn't thought that was a good idea. Still planning to start with diving. Hope to get started sooner than later. Nice video's and some are definitely informative for the near future. And your enthusiasm is contagious! Very nice!
I got home about an hour ago after completing day 1 of my Rescue Diver course :-O In less than 24 hours I should hopefully be a certified rescue diver :D
Hey Katt just discovered your channel 😃. I’ve just completed my rescue diver and EFR courses this week, overall aim to go transition into teaching scuba 😍
Hey Katt thanks for the reply, would really like to know about the process once you’ve completed the IDC I.e finding jobs etc. I know there’s a padi pro portal online are there jobs advertised on there? Thanks G
Thanks for this video. Helpful as a prepare for my rescue course. FYI… youtube auto-closed captions detect your intro and call you “vegan diaper cat”. Tee hee.
Don't worry, you have a lot of time and many dives before you should attempt this. It's a great challenge for people looking to advance their diving to the next level. Congratulations for your open water :)
Hi Kat i have a question I am an advanced open water diver with 160 dives I have just completed a wreck dive speciality course i have also have DPV /Deep/ Enriched air /PPB . I only do 10 dives a years. Do you think it is worth pay £700 for rescue diver Just to get a master scuba diver Where i am not going to go professional. With been in the uk i only dive in warm areas. Or just dive recreational and have fun. Please advise
So, I have heard horror stories about rescue diver training...Do they knock your mask off and strip your reg from your mouth at depth? Silly I know but just wanted to get the straight answer. Thank you!!
Thanks so much for the video! I’m really excited to get my Rescue Diver Certification. The plan is to go to the florida keys in November! I was going to take the online PADI course soon along with my friend who is also getting the certification with me. Is that a good option versus a class? It’s hard for shops to fill a class of people to take the course I feel...
Hi! Thanks for leaving a comment. I would personally always recommend doing a class since you have the opportunity to talk to a dive instructor and get any questions you may have answered right there and then by an expert. Then again, the online option is really as good as YOU make it. If you are dedicated and study hard and do the reading and think through things, it does have all the necessary information. It is however really easy to slack off and just do the bare minimum, which in the end will be doing no one except yourself a disservice. :)
when i was 14 years old i asked my mother to take me to a dive shop so that i could learn scuba diving but when we got there the guy that owned the dive shop said to me to learn scuba diving you must sign your name but i refused to because i hated my name so much so i lost out on scuba diving i also lost out on 2 dozen other once in a life time activities because i refused to sign my name on those activities as well i have now changed my old name to a new name now that i have a new name it doe's not bother me one bit that i lost out on scuba diving and 2 dozen other once in a life time activities any one else that wants to learn scuba diving do not do it because you will be asked to sign your name like i was asked to the guy said to me to learn scuba diving you must sign your name but i refused to do so.

Were there swimming qualifications like the 200-300 meter swim in OW?
I completed my rescue class it was intense class makes me look at dives in a completely different light
Thanks for this video. Helpful as a prepare for my rescue course. FYI… youtube auto-closed captions detect your intro and call you “vegan diaper cat”. Tee hee.
Tomorrow im starting this course
Too much to go through on the PADI manual
For someone who just finished is OW course, it´s sounds stressful.

Vegan Diver Katt can you sign up for this course with just a padi open water certification?
@@SpottedDogNetworks You need advanced open water as a pre-requisite before taking rescue.
Greg Benson didn’t know that I am enrolled in the course and I just have OW

I have never seen a rescue diver course cost so much. My local dive centre charges £345 for it and others range from this to mid £400s
@@Scxbah it was 650€ for both EFR and Rescue course plus 10 dives
