Seeing Ash and Red in the same room is so surreal to me (along with Ash being in 3D). Imagine him talking to game characters he knows versions of.
I agree, like theres only like 3 houses in Pallet town and youre telling me they never met before??
Really want Ash to become an obtainable Sync Pair so we can make a team of our favorite anime trio.
You do realize that Ash represents ALL of the protagonist (unless if the counter part female becomes a rival, then he isn't her)

I will forever be salty that they gave us that spiky eared Pichu and then locked it to those games and we couldn't bring them forward to eventual pokemon bank/home. The forbidden best Pichu

I also feel sad it happened to Cosplay Pikachu as well. The special moves were great, and the costumes themselves were even better. It would be amazing to be able to find her again and give her even more costumes.
Tbh the fact that it cannot be traded because it needs special care makes it unique.
I mean think about it, to you they are just the same pokemon data transferred from one place to another, to the pokemon it's being separated from everything they know to go to a new region and meet a trainer that acts really similar to their old owner, but they are not able to see that it's their own trainer.
Spiky eared Pichu is one of the few pokemon that refuses to leave it's original trainer for somebody else.

Pichu is my favorite Pokémon and I will forever be eternally grateful to the Smash devs for not only bringing Pichu back for Smash Ultimate but also making Spiky-Eared Pichu an alternate costume. They didn’t need to do that, but they did and that’s great
Not sure if anyone else mentioned it, but there is one other reference to Ash in the games you missed- in Detective Pikachu, after leaving a building at one point, the protagonist Tim has a run in with a regular Pikachu that he mistakes for Detective Pikachu. And with how Detective Pikachu addresses the Pikachu, it’s heavily implied to be Ash’s Pikachu, as Detective Pikachu says “tell your buddy to be the very best, like no one ever was.”
It’s not a full appearance of Ash, but the shout out is pretty clear all things considered. Sorry if someone else mentioned that before me, but Detective Pikachu is also a pretty niche game, so it’s understandable why that one would slip past.
The name Ash or Satoshi was used fairly consistently for both the games & anime till the 2nd generation, by both marketing material & the series' developers.
However, in the mangas (Pokemon Adventures, Pokémon Pocket Monsters (Clefairy), etc) they established Red's name (and Green (male) also) very early on.
Yeah, actually originally Red and Blue's canonical name's were Satoshi and Shigeru, but due to the anime's popularity and Tajiri's facination with the Adventures manga they changed their names to Red and Blue (the latter being Green in Japan), to both take inspiration with the manga's characterization of the characters and to diffirenciate the fact that Satoshi (Ash) and Shigeru (Gary) were different characters of their own and not simply another Red and Blue
Just goes to show that originally Ash and Red are suposed to be the Same Characters

You forgot about Ash appearing in a photobomb during 2019's April Fools event in Pokemon GO. Well... partially, if you had newer update Ash would appear, on older update you get Pikachu with Ash's hat instead.
Not to mention Team Rocket in their anime form showing up in GO both for snap shots and events in 3D models. Meaning that Ash is part of the GO universe.

They should have had Red appear in the Anime as one of the champions. Let Ash have no clue who he is and be shocked when it was announced both combatants are from Pallet Town. Green/Blue could still exist with him being in Let's Go along with that series remake of him. Have him be Gary's older brother he never mentioned because he was self focused.

I guess people forgot that in "Detective Pikachu" (game, not the movie), the gruff voiced Pikachu meets another Pikachu and told him to "be the very best like no one ever was".

Pokemon has so many different alternate canons at this point that you may as well explain away the sudden suggested age difference between Ash and Todd Snap as there being at least two canons in which they both appear; one where they're around the same age and one where they aren't. The most likely explanation is the devs just didn't think about it that hard but alternate timelines/canons for everything is probably tje best in-universe explanation, I guess

In the emerald chapter of the manga Todd also appears playing a pretty big role as the “explaining character”
By the end he’d hired be oak to go to an island and take pictures of Pokémon setting up the events of Snap. So it can also be canon to the manga

Ash is a playable character in Masters. He’s one of the 3rd Anniversary units (Red/ Pikachu, Ash/ Pikachu, Cynthia/ Lucario)
So if they can legally have him in games why don’t they just make him like a trainer in a real game? It would be sick to see him as one of the secret champions like Red.
Battling Ash with all of his plot armor non-sense would be pretty fun for a laugh.

Ash isn't the Alola Champion in the games, Elio/Selene are.
Serena isn't a lovestruck 10 year old, she is between 16-18 and doesn't have a known crush. No protagonist is 10, the youngest protagonist age is 11.
Dawn, Serena and May are either protagonists or associates or rivals with the protagonist, they don't all do contests, none of them do.
The actual game protagonists did the game stories, Ash didn't.
Blue is Oak's grandson, Gary doesn't exist.
Ash would be just a random trainer, he wouldn't be a champion and he wouldn't have stopped an evil team or do any game's story. He would have no purpose and retconning him into the games would retcon all previous games and screw over the actual game protagonists.

The funny thing is that ash is actually playable now in Pokémon masters

Red vs the entire organization , went missing and return to wreck shit to the entire evil organization outside of team rocket while still keeping his old Pokemon until the end.(manga).
Also in HGSS they gave Red's Pikachu the exact same moveset Ash's Pikschu was using at the time. And he was basically using Ash's Orange Island team.
Ash's Pikachu also appears on the Detective Pikachu game. It is implied that Ash is there just offscreen
the fact that there is probably an ash on every game and the only reason we ain't seeing him is cuz he is either on another region, or he is just not a trainer irks me...

It should also be noted that in the I Choose You movie there’s an old man dressed like Red, clearly referencing him to at least some degree.

Imagine if you get there are secret battles with the anime Ash's companions. For example, you can secretly battle a Misty with her anime outfit or Brock with a shirt on.
The anime is known for not always using fully evolved pokemon, so if these secret battles would use them it would be a little easy... except it won't because they have a special mechanic called "dodge"

I will mention in the Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire delta episode Steven Stone talks about meeting Alan, who was Ash's rival in the X & Y anime. So another connection there.
You didn't mention this but I think it's such a cool detail, the Greninja we get in the SuMo demo is suppose to be a pokemon from the protagonist's father meaning the SuMo protagonists are the child of Ash (probably)

I’ve seen he has his Journeys team with him in Pasio, but battles with just Pikachu, since they use one at a time in Masters.
Note: Ash have 2 version, Anime Ash and Movie Ash. Movie Ash first appeared in remake Pokemon Movie (called Pokemon the Movie: I Chose You). Aslo Movie Ash have talking Pikachu.
Would be cool if someday in a Pokemon game he's like the final boss or something because he actually becomes the pokemon master or something eventually in the anime. So like the true boss/master to beat.
Imagine a Volo-styled boss fight, all high-level pokemon he has used at some point with a seventh one coming in and transforming after being defeated (probably his Greninja)

One thing people misunderstand is that Ash is based off of Red... that's not exactly true. Ash represents ALL the male protagonists.
Note that the ONLY time a female player from the games appear, it's when the male and female are BOTH characters in the series... in Gen 5, 7 & 8, since the male and female versions are just different versions of each other and not their own characters, Ash doesn't have the female protagonist as a companion.
But put it another way.... Ash IS the female protagonist as well.
So Ash is ALL of these characters:
Red (and Leaf)

I think he only represents Red and then became its own character. During movies and some episodes you can see trainers such as Brendan or Lucas fighting, and some like Ethan/Jim even fighting him or having their own special episodes, although if we don't count movies or those specials as canon it may be true...

Ash-Greninja was also available in Pokemon Picross, plus Ash's Pikachu does show up in Detective Pikachu. Tim the main character mistakes it for his father's Pikachu and based on the dialog, it's proven. So we know that a version of Ash has visited Ryme City
I feel like there's a very big chance that ash might appear in gen 10, possibly gen 9, but i really feel like gen 10 because its the big 10, they gotta be planning something big for it and man, all past gimmicks, mega Z Gmax carizard with ash or something insane like that! Maybe like the timelines are merging again, from kalos point and finally coming back together to merge into one big gimmick deal and it's like, apocalyptic proportions and you meet ash somewhere in there once you finally fix the problem, like post game or his the champion or something, like that would be epic, and since people keep saying this is his last season as the main character, it'd be perfect for ash to be the champion in gen 10, as they keep saying it'll be his last because ash will get his dream of being a pokemon master so he quits, OR he's like red and you have to find him somewhere in a super boss area like mt.silver, it wouldn't make since if they make you go to pallettown for one singular battle, unless they go insane and make you battle every single region gym leader and elite for and champion just to lead up to Ash, which also would be not only insane but epic as all heck! That would really make pokemon stand at the top and id really buy it just for that huge experience, that's my hopes for gen 10 and if i had predicted anything, i really hope its at least ash appearing in a main game and you get to fight him, sorry for the long comment
I wouldn't be surprised if Ash ended up as a full skin alt for Pokemon Trainer in the next Smash. He was already in Smash 64, and mentioned in Smash 4.

The fact that Ash hasn't aged but Todd Snap is notably older is kinda weird if they are apparently in the same timeline. Best not to think too much about it.

It’s worth noting that Todd also appears in the Special/Adventures Manga, at the end of the emerald chapter. So, I guess snap could technically also be in the manga canon? Given the less serious tone, though, I’m inclined to think it’s anime canon
Did you know Red's Pikachu and Ash's Pikachu in gen 4 share the same moveset?
It makes me think that the Ash from the Indigo League retelling mvoei and its follow up the Zarude movie, is the iteration of Ash canon to the games.

Maybe, maybe not, but unlike in the anime he doesn't become Alola's first Pokemon League champion, the Gen 7 boy trainer Elio (his canon name), or the Gen 7 girl trainer Selene (her canon name) takes that honor. But it's important to note that the room you find Totem Mimikyu in with that photo of Ash is an illusion. Once you beat Totem Mimikyu and go back to the haunted supermarket, you'll find that the door to that small room is gone, which throws the belief of Ash existing in the mainline games into question, especially since he did not age like Red did. Red was 11 years old in Red, Blue and Yellow Version, and he was 31 in Sun, Moon, UltraSun and UltraMoon.

I had to come back. So if Ash is battling in the World Coronation in the top 8 trainers in the world and Red exists in that world then that would make Ash stronger than Red (Unless Multiverse shenanigans is involved and Ash ends up in another world before the World Coronation.)

In the pokemon movie, those same kids (at around the same age as they are in Snap 2) appear in the background

That is a funny thought. Though in Masters characters are also taken from different points in time and the Red there doesn’t seem like his older version from Sun and Moon. But he, as well as Blue and Leaf, still do look older than everyone else 🤷♂️

I'd say Ash will likely always stay as an 'Easter Egg' character, and won't be intersctable beyond just being able to point at him going, 'He's the guy from the anime!'.
Unless they pull a Red, and give him an artificial difficulty boost just from level differences, nearly every single pokemon Ash has ever caught is mediocre at best, generational gimics withstanding. He is much like most of his teams, extremely mediocre.
