Speaking from the future, the 2024 Rocky Mountain Archtop Festival was AMAZING. Jocelyn, et al., everyone either legendary, deeply knowledgeable, or playing at an extremely high level. I live here, and am embarrassed to say it was my first one. I'd selfishly say keep it a secret, but it's not to be missed. Apparently Bud 6's are the gateway pharmaceutical to discovering amazing artists??? Really honored to meet everyone from all over, players, educators, craftspeople, jazz fans, all! Honored, really. Thank you Jocelyn, legends!!! And thank you JGT for covering it all. Interesting point, all the accelerated advances for jazz guitar that happened in spite of the awful pandemic! And yeah for artistry in singing as well! On that note, Howard Alden's performance of Georgia the other night was transcendent--Jocelyn's taking the artistry places in great company. Love and best wishes, Daniel 🙏🏻
Jocelyn and Bob, thank you so much for this beautiful conversation. I booked a ticket to Jocelyn’s show on said Saturday and was eagerly waiting to watch her do her thing in real life. Unfortunately that didn’t happen just like you mentioned, and I’m sure glad to see her doing well after what happened in Israel, and I’m sorry she had to go through it. Much love Jocelyn, waiting for your album to drop and hoping to catch you live in Europe some time. Love and appreciation from Israel ❤.
I also love that some of the way the questiosn are related, lso sounds like Jim Hall talking about Ed Bickert [in this case Jocelyn Gould would be the Ed bickert in the example].
Thanks for doing these interviews. One humble suggestion: please consider lessening your own commentary and asking more questions instead. Try to keep the focus on the guest.
Good question. If Jocelyn or Bob see this, they may be able to clarify. Thanks for watching and for your input! Please feel free to Like, Share and Subscribe to our channel.
