Yeah, but the sound in those "raw" clips is done in post processing most of the times anyway. There is even a video showing this practice (think it was a red bull clip).
Loving the new group by I'll wait for the XT or SLX version. XTR is way out of my budget. Speaking of that when will see Di2 trickle down to SLX and 105?
And right now i'ts only compatible with the NEW Shimano hub, meaning your wallet better be fatter. DT Swiss bought the copyright from Shimano so they can build compatible drivers, but i wonder how many other companies can afford to do the same. No thinks, I love the idea, and Shimano makes great stuff, but I will consider the XO SRAM setup over this price wise and compatiblity. Personally I think Shimano shot themselves in the foot by not offering a hub compatible with mutiple wheelmakesr brands. Who wants to buy a brand new expensive hub to replace their perfectly good hub in order to accommodate the xtr setup? I think Sram has the advantage. :-(
William Morris “Right now” you cannot even buy it wait until they hit the shelves... Shimano is late to game with the 10t compatible free hub but it will work out on the long run especially is they bring it down to XT and SLX soon.
TechERni hey I've got the same hubs. Quick question: is it normal that it doesn't make a resonnant metal sound when you engage it or pedal kick or whatever? Seems like the freehubs on new bikes make that sound and not my freehub
My one does make that sound when I'm on my high speed gear when pedal kicking. Sound sick, and it's the Hope Pro2 Evos. Check out my Instagram see my Hard Tail @ernestsady
I had no idea Shimano also had silent freehubs now. Great to see more who offer this, because I've thought about it for years why they were just becoming more and more annoying(generally speaking, by any brand).
Looks amazing but the new i-spec ev system isn't. I'm after a small crash where I broke my brake lever. I had to replace my shifter to get a new brake! Now I will have to do that again. I hope shimano will release some adapters
Its so you can sneak up on wildlife, the beautiful animals of the forest and unsuspecting walkers as you blast past them, sending their dogs in to a frenzy.
Makes me wonder if it was the right decision to go for the M820 Saint Brakes. Especially with their price tag so close together. Edit: better than the old Deore Disc brake tho, which broke 3 Times in half with no one felt responsible for it, even tho it was only 10 Months old. Why cant you provide a normal customer friendly customer service like every other brand?
woduk - I did years ago, had a set of O.G. Hugi's that sounded nice. Then I grew out of it. Guess it's more of an age thing, and maybe people with a MX background. A quiet bike tends to be a well maintained bike. I like mine whisper quiet, especially on the road.
THANK YOU! Glad to see I'm not the only one who thinks loud hubs are annoying. They're essentially the fart cannons on modified cars! Of course, the hugbox in r/mtb wouldn't stand for this heresy.
Nice but I have a 2016 Focus Raven max SL with full XTR double, I can only imagine the price of that groupe set --I love the sound of my upgraded 54 DT Swiss hubs on the XRX 1200 wheels so not sure I would enjoy total silence???
The location of the clamp on the new brake levers makes no sense. Instead of taking less than 2cm of handlebar space like the previous model, the new levers take about 6cm. If you see Jolanda Neff's bike, you'll notice that they had to install her suspension lockout out of normal hand riding position reach because of the ridiculous location of the clamp on these brake levers.
Yuda Surya seimbang gan . Tapi mungkin lebih mahal sedikit xtr nya . Tunggu aja sebentar lagi akan masuk ke majuroyal gan . Paket nya sudah plus freehub nya juga khusus gabisa pakai freehub lama shimano okey
The 12 speed derailleur is compatible with the new 11 speed cassette. There's a switch on the shifter to convert from 11 to 12 speed. The pull ratios are the same, but different than the previous series.
oh wow, i am huge Shimano and Cube fan, thought all demo bikes were BMC didn't know you used Cube as demo bikes, is there a sort of partnership between the 2 companies? :D love my XT equipped Cube reaction GTC, it's the bike that will definitely get the M9100 upgrade in the future
Hi Alex, we try to work a lot with our partners and clients. So yes, you can call it a partnership 😀. Cool to hear that you like the Cube Reaction GTC with XT so well. The M9100 will be a lovely update! Keep riding, ^Willem - Team Shimano
Sram's direct mount? Or yet another standard "direct mount" Wouldn't say it looks agressive, very nice smart new look though, very original, well done Shimano.
Polish guy with hard to spell name ;-p Remind me telling you about the One Up Dropper post in a week or something, when it s there. By the way it s a shame that you have to pay another 4€ to get it delivered.
10euros delivery is expensive comparing to polish delivery costs, which are at most 3,3 euros, but often 2,5 and for a dropper most shops would deliver for free. But if you're paying 6 for delivery in Germany, then 4 euro extra seems to be very fair. The more developed the country is, the more expensive the deliveries are, same in UK. Remind me to ask you how it's holding on after 6 months ;-p ...and then 12months...then 18...then 24...ha ha ha Will get KS E20i on new bike, been planning to trade it for something better right after delivery(CB Highline 160 planned, very good prices in Poland for some reason) but done some research and support for KS parts in PL seems to be very good, main importer told me they've been able to source parts for an 8 year old KS model, so I've pretty much decided to keep this E20i 150mm stock and prey for reliability ;-) Swapping would surely come at some cost, so this way I hope I'll save, unless it'll be unreliable off course.
Polish guy with hard to spell name ;-p Okay, i almost "had" to take the One Up because of the length of it. It s only 41cm with 150mm hub so i can still get the saddle very low without getting in the way of the rear shock. (Is it really called rear shock in english? I m not sure.) Additional im getting a SLX Rear derailleur with two adapters to fit a sunrace 11-46 cassette instead of my Zee derailleur with 11-36. I ride a 38 teeth cog and till now it was really hard to get this downhill bike uphill. I also upgraded my old Avid Code R to an Saint Brake with ice tech rotors. But till now im a bit disappointed of that brake. It doesnt brake as strong as i would like it to do. But with all that changes i have the perfect bike for my needs with Boxxer Worldcup 200mm and a Vivid air R2C with a nice travel of 23cm on the rear wheel.
These honestly are great pedals but they do have a dark side. I was able to put just under 100 miles on these guys before they revealed their sinister side. I will say at 46 years of age I have had many small incidental injuries in my cycling career. Scrapes, bruises, busted ego.....the occasional need of a band-aid...Nothing however in my wildest imagination would have made me think a pedal could draw blood and remove flesh like a medieval tool. While riding my Yeti SB5.5 I was hopping over an obstacle when my right foot came unclipped. Note that I LOVED these pedals right up to the point that the pedal let my foot loose in an unintended fashion....Upon coming down out of the air and looking for good footing back on my pedal I found myself slightly out of balance from the release of my foot. I missed the pedal completely with my foot and found my leg between my ankle and calf was instantly in searing pain. After coming to a hasty stop for visual inspection I found it looked like a rabid beast had attacked my leg. Wondering how on earth I had managed such an injury i looked to my pedal and found a large filet of my flesh was literally hanging off the edge of it. (PD-M9100 XTR's) Why on earth Shimano felt the need to put a sharp edge on the outbound side of a pedal is beyond me. Let me go back to the beginning and state these are great pedals but they will extract their pound of flesh if given the opportunity. I highly recommend taking a file or grinder to radius those protruding sharp edges before you clip in!
Sorry to hear you've experienced issues with the pedals. We appreciate your feedback and will share this with our product development team. For trail riding with your Yeti the PD-M9120 might be a better option for you.
It's there, but each teeth has an unique shape. We call it Hyperglide+, your new best friend! Gives you fast shifting, power transfer and stability like you’ve never experienced. You can continuously pedal while shifting under load!
Our first focus for developing new XTR was on mechanical shifting. Our Di2 technology is highly accepted in the cycling world so it would be a logical step to make the XTR 9100 group also Di2 in the future.
#RideShimano wich is ready to roll out.. It kept behind for marketing reasons. Might as well anounce it. There will be people that will wait for the Di2..
Ride Alongside as if they are going to admit that.. by the time we see any new products. They have been working on it the past 2/3 years. First make sure everybody buys the cable version. I give them 6 months and they will reveal the Di2.. They are not alone. Dont get me wrong everybody is guilty of this!
Silent hubs! Raw edits will never sound the same!
a bike movie with no music, just the sounds of the trails and the bike
Yeah, but the sound in those "raw" clips is done in post processing most of the times anyway. There is even a video showing this practice (think it was a red bull clip).
Scotty is right about the rear derailleur. It looks fantastic!
I had to check cause I thought I was watching a GMBN video ha
Yeah, but Scotty left GMBN like an year ago!
Thought was a GMBN video. Shimano, awesome as always.
Scotty left GMBN ages ago dude!
“And that’s a new standard”
Can hear mechanics across the world screaming
Me too
I'm just really happy to see the XTR hubs going for the silent route. Loud hubs are annoying like you wouldn't believe.
Loving the new group by I'll wait for the XT or SLX version. XTR is way out of my budget. Speaking of that when will see Di2 trickle down to SLX and 105?
don't need di2 on slx or 105 as the price will rise. and i don't like batteries on my bike
Who wants to buy a brand new expensive hub to replace their perfectly good hub in order to accommodate the xtr setup? I think Sram has the advantage. :-(
Shimano freehubs will be available for other types of hub soon enough
Galib Ahmed You are not forced to buy Di2 even with XTR but nice to have options...
William Morris “Right now” you cannot even buy it wait until they hit the shelves... Shimano is late to game with the 10t compatible free hub but it will work out on the long run especially is they bring it down to XT and SLX soon.
Silent FreeHub, well it's less annoying but love my Hope Pro2 Evo hubs sound great.... Annndd that 4-Pot Caliper Mmmmmm awesome. RideShimano 4 Ever.
TechERni hey I've got the same hubs. Quick question: is it normal that it doesn't make a resonnant metal sound when you engage it or pedal kick or whatever? Seems like the freehubs on new bikes make that sound and not my freehub

3:26 Um , if you want to demonstrate the silence of the freehub, you’ll have to turn the music track off. 👍
This Has Now OFFICIALLY BEACME MY DREAM MOUNTAIN BIKE!!!
Don't care about any of this except the silent hub. Absolutely awesome
Nice to see Scotty again.🙂
Scotty!
I love the new groupset but to be honest I prefer very loud freehubs
Nice thats its 2x usable as well, yippie for us 2x fans.
Nice nice And very nice
Scotty making the Shimano $$$, congrats!
Silent hubs are cool but you need the sound on many trails to warn runners and such you are coming.
Looks amazing but the new i-spec ev system isn't. I'm after a small crash where I broke my brake lever. I had to replace my shifter to get a new brake! Now I will have to do that again. I hope shimano will release some adapters
It will be available with and without I-SPEC EV.
Both Phillips screw and Slotted screw on XTR freaks me out again... 3:36
Oh yesss! Take my money
This comment made me laugh 😁
Bike shops always have big windows, to see you coming!!!
@@irvsstella They came so slow with x12 to the market that I picked SRAM Eagle instead :D
Bmc hardtail looking great
Im gonna wait for the xt version😁
shimano the best for mtb
Next year will be electronic version for an additional grand, probably a 4 grand group set now
Sram’s next move: 13 spd cassette, then 14, then 15..
Oba na sabiá que existia canal da Shimano, posso fazer um vídeo falando do kit no meu canal do RUclips?
Is it better than tourney? Shall i upgrade? xD
silent freehubs were made so that people wouldn't notice that you're not pedaling.
Haha.
Its so you can sneak up on wildlife, the beautiful animals of the forest and unsuspecting walkers as you blast past them, sending their dogs in to a frenzy.
I like the xtr xc!!!
Makes me wonder if it was the right decision to go for the M820 Saint Brakes.

Sick
New xtr!
Silent freehub... Finally someone gets it! Loud freehubs are annoying. Hopefully other wheel manufacturers follow suit.
thechosendude no don’t you like the sound of hope or Chris King hubs love it
woduk - I did years ago, had a set of O.G. Hugi's that sounded nice. Then I grew out of it. Guess it's more of an age thing, and maybe people with a MX background. A quiet bike tends to be a well maintained bike. I like mine whisper quiet, especially on the road.
i go to the forest to relax and then a guy with a noisy hub appears and ... :(
THANK YOU! Glad to see I'm not the only one who thinks loud hubs are annoying. They're essentially the fart cannons on modified cars!
Of course, the hugbox in r/mtb wouldn't stand for this heresy.
And here I thought i am the only one who thought noisy hubs are just that, noisy
Nice but I have a 2016 Focus Raven max SL with full XTR double, I can only imagine the price of that groupe set --I love the sound of my upgraded 54 DT Swiss hubs on the XRX 1200 wheels so not sure I would enjoy total silence???
Bonjour, ou peut-on acheter le kit cadre enduro s’il vous plaît merci.
I have a question i like to buy this xtr but can i fit this to my specialized camber 2011 Pls reply thank you
Hello, Can you please tell me which brand of bike it is?
Is that new 11-Speed Silent Freehub still compatible with the M9050/M9070 XTR Di2 Groupset?
Durahl no it’s a totally new design with 12 speed spacing, so it won’t work with the current series.
The location of the clamp on the new brake levers makes no sense. Instead of taking less than 2cm of handlebar space like the previous model, the new levers take about 6cm. If you see Jolanda Neff's bike, you'll notice that they had to install her suspension lockout out of normal hand riding position reach because of the ridiculous location of the clamp on these brake levers.
what kind of frame is that bike? so cool and so nice 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
BMC xco frame and Cube trail frame.
Shimano finally coming out with some decent gear

My bicycle is Shimano Vector voice 10. 🚴♂️👍
Sram siempre X delante
XTR M9000 brake is the lightest brake in the market(among main stream brand), i want to know the weight of M9100 brake~
You coulda spun the rear wheel to demonstrate the silent running!
Oh! Sorry. Must watch video to the end before commenting ☺️
12 speed derailleur compatible with 11 speed shifter for 11 speed setup? Are pull ratios different.
The 12 speed derailleur is compatible with the new 11 speed cassette. There's a switch on the shifter to convert from 11 to 12 speed. The pull ratios are the same, but different than the previous series.
What make Seat post on the Rigid BMC bike ???
Is that a bmc xc bike with the car graphic s
It's a BMC and other one is a Cube.

Anyone have the link for buy this bike I try to many way but I don't see
What about Shimano Nexus with Scylence technology? Is that possible?
It's not in our scope yet.
You know what that means... SRAM 1x13 or 10-52 or both. #armsrace
Sram's direct mount? Or yet another standard "direct mount" Wouldn't say it looks agressive, very nice smart new look though, very original, well done Shimano.
Polish guy with hard to spell name ;-p You again. "Jetzt ist Polen offen"

Beam me up, Scotty!
Waiting for the XT version, this one probably too expensive 😕😕
Ok, so it won't fit on the ''normal'' hubs from my m7000 group set?
Correct, it's not compatible due of the wider spacer needed for the 12 speed cassette.
*I can install the 12 speed casette to a bike that normally uses 10?*
No, it need a different free hub.
I love this new (N absolutely original) Shimano XX1 eagle
What bike frames did they use?
The new xtr looks lit i want to buy one but im broke
Is the bike in the vid for sale

How about I send you the PD-M9100's back (cleaned of course) and you ship back the PD-M9120 set?
We'd recommend returning to your dealer. They might be able to sort this with our local distributor.
I didn't know Shimano made frames
For the cross country bike you can see at 0:20 the BMC logo on the frame protection, seems like a Teamelite model.
Michele Barp Cool I didn't notice that before
We don't. It's just paint. It's all about the components for us!
Bmc bikes
Which cycle is used in this video. Can you tell me plz
Cube enduro bike and BMC cross country bike.
the 'R' resembles that from the 10 speed era. M98X :D like.
are you planning on making a version for slx,, deore,, xt. ?

Nope, but the groupset will be. In stores around September this year.
How much this is cost type 2 front disc...???
Pricing of parts isn't available yet and depends per region.
Alhamdulillah :)
A tooth is missing 1:00 on the big black ring on the top.
It's there, but each teeth has an unique shape. We call it Hyperglide+, your new best friend! Gives you fast shifting, power transfer and stability like you’ve never experienced. You can continuously pedal while shifting under load!
😍😍

#drooling
Почему переклюк теперь без шадоу?
Can you use di2 on this ?
Our first focus for developing new XTR was on mechanical shifting. Our Di2 technology is highly accepted in the cycling world so it would be a logical step to make the XTR 9100 group also Di2 in the future.
#RideShimano wich is ready to roll out.. It kept behind for marketing reasons. Might as well anounce it. There will be people that will wait for the Di2..
#RideShimano is that a yes?
Ride Alongside as if they are going to admit that.. by the time we see any new products. They have been working on it the past 2/3 years. First make sure everybody buys the cable version. I give them 6 months and they will reveal the Di2.. They are not alone. Dont get me wrong everybody is guilty of this!
Sebastiaan Brouwer so you're saying they are trying to sell us two redundant products by withholding the nicer one in the beginning?
Now the road groups are now shadow they make new XTR without the shadow link
lol scotty is everywhere
Silent freehub... big no from me.
Such expensive components on the enduro bike but a 5 year old shock ?
Ikr
They are not fork dealers they are here to show their new groupset not a new fork not made by their company...
I know but Still a bit weird
.... But I don't want a silent freehub Shimano
Once you ride with it, you don't never want to go back.
Wild Outdoor Living You got that right, my i-9 torch all day long
Use a hope hub and put the compatible freehub on it sorted?
Regone piro cah?
Take my sram eagle
Can nyo gift me a bike for my birthday 😅 my dream bike is twitter
Scam is first but Shimano made it better
