*best dialogue in the entire movie*
should've won awards for THIS line
Cut to them kissing in Paris
😂
😂
😂
*No, this is Patrick*
i hate how some people dont have the same level of humor to understand that dialogue
florence pugh is such an amazing actress. i absolutely despised her when she burned the book, but by the end of the film, she became my favorite character.
Ila A, i totally agree! I didn’t like the way everyone just accepted her burning the book. But eventually she was such a great sweet character
I didnt get mad at the book part, they were siblings, I mean me and my siblings were worse so I didn't care what they did but I love amy
Im one to hold grudges so i still despised her at the end.
Dwights Beets, i am too tbh 😂😨
I also despised her when she burned the book and I still kinda do but I want to like her cause of how she grew up and turned out
people who hate on Amy dont consider the fact that she was 12 when she burnt the book and that the chances are we’ve all done smth shitty to our siblings when we were younger. i adore amy march so much 🥺🥺
My little sister is 12 and she would never in a million years do something like that to me. Amy acts less like a middle schooler and more like a kindergartner
@@ladyofways You probably only have 1 sister tho, I have 5 and we all done really bad stuff to each other that we regret, I ruined my sister painting when I was 11 and I regret it. But the thing is Amy isn't perfect and she matured.
@@kori-uu7bs I have more than 1 sister but the worse things I've done to them was when I was younger than 12. I never said Amy never matured but when she was twelve she was pretty horrible. I understand that all families are different but honestly, burning a book that her sister wrote just because she didn't get to go to the theatre is something a child younger than 10 would do
Emma Bishop wanted to say your relationship with ur little sister sounds wholesome 🥺 as u said all families are different and people grow at different rates in different ways. what Amy did was horrible but her character as a 12 year old was written to be immature and short tempered and she grew up and matured and i dont think its fair to hold someone accountable for a mistake they made in the past especially when they hv worked to improve themselves
Emma Bishop also this took place in the 18th century and kids were probably more immature than they are now
She was so immature in the beginning, but she ended up more mature than Jo in the end.
She was just a child, the youngest of them. Yeah, she burned Jo's novel (before anyone come here and say that), but sometimes children can be hellish, and she became mature in the end, like you said.
@@mirandablair8850 yeah wasn't she twelve when she burned it?
Miranda Blair She was only twelve when that happened, but, to be fair, Jo was treating her very poorly. Obviously, that doesn’t excuse what she did, but a lot of people treat Jo as if she’s perfect, which really bothers me, considering how she treats Amy.
@@alexiam9850 she wasn't treating her poorly, she told her she couldn't go to the theatre because there weren't enough tickets and because she would be talking the entire time, amy was just annoying at that time, and it wasn't because she was a child because she was already twelve/thirteen
Rita Sousa It wasn’t just in this scene, throughout the course of the book/movie, Jo is mean to Amy. Sure, she may be a little annoying at first, but she’s twelve. Jo had no right to treat her the way that she did.
Florence definitely deserved an oscar. And she deserved another nomination for Midsommar. She is so awesome!
Diasmc Coelho Midsommar deserves so many awards! they deserved best costume design and best lead actress!! the academy needs to get over it’s dumb fear of horror films
@@sammiewalsh5904 fear of horror films...
Eden Gallagher if you haven’t noticed. for years now the academy has avoided nominating horror films for awards. they refuse to give horror films nominations cause they don’t deem them to be worthy of a nomination which is complete bs
Sammie Walsh Honestly, if they did nominate horror films, no doubt, the majority of awards would’ve gone to them.
Park ChimMin oh no doubt! but it depends on the films of course. if we are talking the get rich quick cheesy horror films with a low budget and little to no effort behind them that are really just trying to get 13 year olds to watch them then no. but the films like midsommar, hereditary, us, and so many more, the horror films that put in just as much of not more effort than the films that get awarded then yes they’d get all the wins. horror just sadly isn’t taken as seriously in the academy
The March family dismissing Amy as a spoiled brat though she ends up being the one who's footing the bills for all of them.
LMAO jo did help them a lot. And she became self-employed
@@elenawithacookie2221 Jo being a woman and a writer at that time was probably making just enough for herself and her husband (wich is great already) but not enough to help her whole family like Amy.
@@stefanygomez5799
Amy didn't marry him at last tho

She's not footing the bills. Her husband is. Big difference.

@@minmalaika9971 haha your dp and the comment on this video are soooo complimentary ❤️🤣
The book always made Jo out to be the more likable and favored one because the writer is a 'Jo'. Amy always seemed so pretentious and perfect but the truth was ever since she was always carrying the burden of being the one who has to marry rich and help the family. She knew that as a woman at that time she had to work with what she had. It shows in her conversation with Laurie in the painting room. What Laurie and Amy have is romantic love while with Jo it was a platonic and sibling like love. *A friendship between a boy and a girl isn't always a prelude to a relationship*
@Liza Johnson lmao not surprised
Totally. If you read again the book you can totally see how sometimes the writers really demonized Amy’s words that weren’t that bad like and the worst part was that sometimes those same words were said by another characters like Meg and the writer didn’t present it as a bad thing. So yeah... Amy is a baby queen who deserves better
Jossymary Mena yup twas a bit biased even in the past films welp thank u Greta
Nicole Liu yup exactly she was annoying in the books and yes i believe meryl streep suggested that the painting room scene was important to ad in. i get it though laurie and jo have insane chemistry i just viewed it as a best friends type of love
Liza Johnson lmao really?
3:52 "KISS HIM WITH TONGUE!!!"
OH MY GOODNESS I never heard that before
HAHA never noticed she said that until now!!
this is why we can’t have nice things on the subtitles, it says kiss him with love hahaha
I thought it's ' kiss him with love'. Damn
Lol
Florence Pugh really made it seem like the child parts of Amy were younger version of her it was so credible
kirsten dunst was better in the 1994 version
@@iknowexactlywhoyouare8701 no one asked
@@iknowexactlywhoyouare8701 bcoz Kirsten was a kid that time and Florence is growth woman but she can play a 12 yo girl.
Yeah it was just funny bc of her super deep voice lol
Amy is actually my favorite. She isn't superficial, she's just a lively girl who likes to dress up fancy and be herself. She has the courage to follow her dreams and is actually the *only* one who has the nerve to tell Laurie how miserable he had become because of Jo! She matures up a lot and that's why I love her! Liking pretty dresses does not make you silly or immature.
Wow, people who comment how annoying Amy is maybe just never have a big argument with their siblings. I done things I regret when I was younger (considering she's like 12) but now we're older and we're closer than ever
Yeah especially when they let Jo get away for being annoying too
Burning someone's Novel is soooooo bad though. I don't think people understand unless you're creative yourself. I'd never seen the story before when I watched this film, and I literally had my stomach sink like someone had died or something and felt like I was going to cry. That is how bad it is when a creative person loses one of their work's and I wouldn't have forgiven her for a very, very long time. She got off so easy in this
@@Silvercentipede she was 12 though
@@quarreee9951 if they were my sister I would forgive through unconditional love, but never forget. If I wasn't related I would fucking hate the person's guts for the rest of my life 😂 I'd let them get on with their life and that, but I would never forgive them. An artist's work is so valuable to them honestly!
In the film Big Eyes the artist claimed when the guy was taking credit for her work, it was like losing a child, and honestly I didn't feel she was overexaggerating at all. That is how precious an artist's work can be to some creators, I think it something you're either gonna get or you're not.
But the only way I could ever give someone for that would be the unconditional love of relation. And even then I'd find it hard to forget, and Jo is completely entitled still hold that grudge against her at times
Amy didn't burn a Barbie or a dress. She burnt the blood, sweat and tears that Jo put into that book. She burnt a part of Jo's passion and livelihood. She burnt A PIECE of Jo. She burnt hours and hours and late nights and early mornings of Jo's time. She burnt something that could have completely changed and shaped Jo's future. She burnt something with all of a girl's heart, soul and fire poured into it. She burnt original ideas and concepts that could only come out with true authenticity at a certain moment in time. She burnt Jo's overcoming's of mistakes and obstacles, perseverance and grit and determination that it takes to write a book.
This was not a simple sibling squabble or rivalry, this was something a lot deeper.
And if I haven't been able to convince you of that by now, it doesn't look like I'm going to be able to
@@Silvercentipede but she is literally a KID when she burned that, she wont even know whatever blabbering ur spewing abt jo's passion and livelihood lmao.
Jo didnt like dolls and dressess so ofc amy would burn something that have meaning like those two, in this case its jo's novel. For amy, jo's novel meaning just like dolls and dressess to any girls.
“Are you hurt?”
“I’m Amy!”
😂😂😂
💀💀💀😂
"no this is patrick"
Florence’s portrayal as a child was 100% the best out of the 4 girls, and her transition into an adult was the most clear as well. Such a good actress 🥺🥺🥺
LMAO the part where it says " Drawin' Laurie like one of her French boys" HAHAHAHA
I lost it there too, that was GENIUS. xD
People hate Amy because she reminds them so much of themselves when they were her age, but really, she is the most realistic character and we’re just to scared to admit it because, lets face it, we’ve all been an Amy
Say what you’d will about Amy in the movie: she was a clever, she was expected to marry rich and ensured she would be available to a rich gentleman, she adored her family and her sisters, and she became much more mature as she aged. She was a good character and portrayed beautifully.
It wasn't the same in the books
kirsten dunst was better in the 1994 version

tHE ROMAN HOLIDAY WHEN SHE WAS BURNING THE PAGES
the fact that the t is the only letter that isnt capitlized bothers me
do another one with “amy and laurie being the best couple for x minutes straight”
Mariana Villarreal OMG YESSSS
i ship amy and laurie but they had no chemistry at all literally jo and laurie had more chemistry probably because it was saoirse and timothee
marga in the book it honestly made more sense. they explained the relationship growth, they also had the “first kiss” scene when they were younger
Lizzie S. yes,, im just saying that i love saoirse and timothee together too much that i even ship their characters toghether even if it is hopeless romantic. i also used to despise amy when i was younger and then that made me despise amy and laurie toghether as well but now i dont care.
marga i completely get what you mean. when i read the book, i always shipped amy and laurie because i always saw jo and laurie as friends. but when the 1994? version came out i wanted jo and laurie ahha
I don't like how people kept saying "I don't like Amy cus she burn Jo's book" like ok? And she asked for forgiveness, she even *almost died* just to ask for forgiveness. She was 12, it's normal for 12 yrs old to do immature shit like that.
And I don't see anybody saying how Jo keeps belittling Amy, like even when they were grown up (in da movie) when Laurie and Jo were catching up the first thing she asked Laurie was "did Amy caused you trouble?"
Amy learned from her mistakes and she grew up to be matured, y'all seriously have to stop holding grudges to a 12 yrs old Amy who was still an immature child.
THIS
Finally some sense
ah yes, my favourite genre: younger sister characters played by florence pugh
Right now, Florence Pugh is kind of pop culture's kid sister.
💛
Florence really needed an award for this movie. The fact that a 24 year old woman can portray a 12 year old girl so well is amazing.
Finally Amy gets the love and respect she DESERVES!!!
LMAO 🤣🤣
i like how amy is the youngest (i think) and she’s the one correcting jo’s manners. “i could eat a horse” “don’t say that”
I love how the character is portrayed in this movie, as she got older she got much more mature but she still has that fun bubbly, wholesome personality.
honestly, I never connected more with another character than I did with Amy. she was the first character to actually have a lot of the flaws that I have, without being insecure or apologetic about them. People loved her despite her being very selfish, brutally honest, quick to anger, dramatic and inconsiderate to others. BUT THEN there it was... a beautiful character portraying everything I hate about myself in a way that still made her lovable by others. I think in the end it makes me hopeful that maybe I am not as flawed as I believe I am and that people do genuinely love me despite all of those flaws.
"Jo! your hAIR. YoUr oNe bEaUty1111!11"
no matter how annoyed i got at amy burning jo’s novel, the evil faces she’s making while doing it are so funny 😂😂
This was honestly so funny the zoom ins are great
I really want Florence to see this

"DOlls doN'T gEt hungrY bETh"
I’ve always had a soft spot for Amy, this is a perfect example of why
The first scene made me laugh so much. She was adorable . It was just an excuse to go to Laurie's house and see him. Also, l knew that she had a crush on him since the first time she saw him and said "l'm Amy" .
how tf is florence so good at playing as a 12 year old girl what the hell
She as Amy and Yelena is really iconic
Florence made Amy my favourite character in the movie, whereas she was probably my least favourite before. My favourite part was that she was wearing angel wings whilst burning Jo's book
its crazy how convincingly she shows amy aging... like i didn't find it weird/hard at all to believe that she was 12 or 13 in the beginning
Had to pause the video crying from laughter after 2:04
Lmao! Best part! 😂😂😂
I genuinely believed that Florence Pugh was like 16 after watching the movie. That's how good she is.
Props to the amazing Florence Pugh for being a fully grown woman and perfectly encapsulating the spirit of a bratty little sister 😂😂
2:36 😂😂😂😂😂 “drawing Laurie like one of her french boys”
This made me laugh so hard 😂
I just love Amy 💕
it’s amazing how Amy flourished from a little girl with younger child syndrome into a sophisticated young woman
Being a big sister and the oldest in the family, it’s kinda difficult when you grow up and see that your little sister always gets her way simply because she’s younger and because she’s not the guinea pig of the family, but when you’re older you realize that it’s not her fault and somehow, if there is no big fight or anything, siblings find their way back to each other. I’m now 19 and get along with my 14, almost 15 year old sister so well most times which I could’ve never imagined a few years ago. We still fight and she’ll always be kinda annoying because that’s what little sisters are there for 😂 but I know how boring my life would be without her
3:04 I love this scene! It's so cute the way she just runs out and hugs him
Look how Laurie is blushing at the end for seeing her so excited for her sister and how obedient he goes for the horses 😹😹😹 I want a movie about them I swear
K so i love all the little women movies and this is by far the best portrayal of amy march. But in the end of the video, did she yell out the carriage for jo to "kiss him with tongue!"?
3:52 Yes... yes she did. This movie rocks man
Wtf. I watched the movie months ago and i only noticed that now. I'm dead! 😂
Omg that is hilarious
actually in the subtitles of the movie it says "kiss him with love" but she's the type of person to say either haha
what i found was that laurie was kinda like a homie hopper, but then realized 1. it would never work with jo and 2. he loves amy more
😂😂 yeah it was a bit odd wasn't it
in fact, the book says so. Laurie ends up in love with Amy and loves Jo like a sister. Laurie himself explains that one way or another, he would always end up staying with Amy, and thanks Jo, just as Jo is very happy to see that Laurie found the woman who was meant for him.
Florence Pugh's portrayal of Amy was the only one of the sisters I felt was better than the 1994 version.
Well, at least in the 1994 version you can tell Amy's a child and that she's also the youngest. Having an adult actress portray a 12 year old is just unsettling, to say the least.
She’s the best thing about this film aside from Timothy Chalamet
