The problem with the target dummies, they're stationary. with that kind of burst build up almost any mob would be dead before peak.
on some big mdi pulls with boss this could be insane on high keys , cant wait to see upcoming runs with mages, probably dh tank & shadow priest along ;)

Fire is better on paper but is way harder to execute correctly .. i saw fire mages in 470 rolling 60k dps and i saw fire mages in 450 rollong 120k dps

I don't know if you know, but frost mage doesn't cast any spells which have a cast time and if so very rarely and using blink for a global is ok, so even if moving, this burst is possible i believe

switchted from frost dk to frost mage, way more dmg with way lower gear, frost DK is dead

why do mages have combo points
Not combo points technically, its the icicles mastery, every time they use single target spell like frost bolt it stores a icicle for % of the damage it did up to 5, if you ice lance it shoots them all at the target or you run glacial spike, stack 5 and it turns it into 1 giant spike.
