    I’m a UGA fan, but also love college football, the history of the game, and rivalries. Money aside, just look at both Colorado and Nebraska since their departure from the BigXII. They’ve been horrendous. I contribute it to pretty much one thing. Losing the BigXII footprint for recruiting. Texas is one of the top five best recruiting states in the entire country. It would be like a team in the SEC moving to another conference and losing Georgia and the city of Atlanta as a recruiting base. When you’re in the BigXII and half your games or more are in the state of Texas, it’s easy to get a Texas kid to come to your school. His family is gonna get at least six or seven chances to watch you play without having to get on a plane. That is HUGE. You can say NIL changes all that and for some kids it does. But kids want their families to see them play. Even with NIL, it’s a hard sell to get a kid to leave his home state or at the very least the conference foot print. Prime sees that. He’s smart, and he’s gonna win eventually, and win big.

    • @2528drevas
      @2528drevas Год назад

      Not exactly accurate. Nebraska was still winning 9-10 games a year under Pelini after moving to the B1G. Yes, subsequent coaches not emphasizing Texas was a HUGE mistake. Matt Rhule isn't making that mistake. It wasn't about leaving the Big XII.

    • @blakeware6830
      @blakeware6830 Год назад +2

      Firing Pelini was mistake number one. I will still have to disagree though. Nebraska was never gonna get the major Ohio or Michigan high school players. Texas is the recruiting Mecca for teams in the BigXII and surrounding area. My point is, it’s a lot easier to recruit Texas kids when their parents know they’ve got several games on the schedule in the state. The recruitment of Texas basically went out the window with the move to the BigTen. At least in regards to the top tier Texas players. It would’ve eventually came to fruition under Pelini as well had they not fired him. Rhule is a good coach and the brand of football that will be played now is definitely gonna improve. He will bring the state of Texas back in the fold recruiting wise, but Nebraska will have to become a national recruiter. They won’t get enough Texas kids to make a significant difference being in the BigTen. He’ll make a splash at first because he’s the hot new thing, but Nebraska is gonna have to recruit more like Notre Dame to get back in the playoff hunt.

      As a Kstater, it warms my heart that the buffs and the cornsuckers have stunk so spectacularly since they left. Both so arrogant that they deserve all the mediocrity that the football gods decided to gift them. But I am happy that cu has come back to where they belong. However, I still wish for at least 25 more years of suckage for nebraska.

      This is a sports, (specifically football) move and because of that, 100% yes it is a wonderful idea. With Coach Prime’s ability to connect with young people, you’re looking at perennial top ten to top five recruiting classes. That’s all because of the BigXII footprint.

      Stfu. It is absolutely relevant when discussing the cultural differences between the PAC and the Big 12. Cal and UCLA literally had to rely on a carveout in their state law in order to be able to use school funds to travel to a lot of conservative states as of a few years ago. Not to mention the decades-long saga of the PAC and BYU, strictly for politically driven reasons.

    Did you just hear Tim Brando say that the XII is headed to EXACTLY the number of teams I have been telling you for months? 20 Teams.
    To be more accurate I said 20+1. Gonzaga is the +1 because they don't play Football.
    It will not be 20+1 right away. The G5s will have to wait 5 years.
    Not sure when Gonzaga is added could be right away.
    But beware, I have also told you that you are STILL going to lose 2 or 3 teams in the XII now.
    ACC is much stronger that you believ because you keep seeing the WRONG numbers.
    They are going to grab the Top 3 to 5 PAC schools and 1 to 3 XII schools to also go to 20+1.
    XII will get Colorado, Washington ST and Oregon ST fo sure and 1 of the Arizona Schools (maybe BOTH). CAL could be on the table. Utah could be on the table.
    Stanford, Oregon, Washington headed to ACC... NOT to the BIG.

    • @tlobrill1

      I disagree. Big is going to want to make travel easier for the LA schools. They snag Oregon and wash so LA doesn’t travel as far. Make a push like hell ND when the Acc breaks up as Clemson and FSU go to sec Miami unc to big 10
