Notre Dame beat the first place SEC team Texas A&M on the road in a hostile environment, in a game of the week with the college game day crew there and Notre Dame beat them by 10 points on the road and shut them down. Notre Dame also beat a ranked Louisville team and has absolutely destroyed every team they have played since the NIU game! Notre Dame had one bad let down of a game against NIU early in the season and that is why they are the 8th/9th seed instead of the 5th or 6th seed. If they would have beat NIU then they could make an argument to be the #1 team in the nation! Notre Dame has the best defense in the nation! I think Notre Dame is getting terribly disrespected this year by the media because there are so many Notre Dame haters out there in their feelings and they are holding that NIU loss against ND so bad, that it is blinding them from seeing just how good ND really is and all the good work they have done so far on their resume this season! Most of the media and people are acting like the NIU game is the only game that should matter on the entire ND schedule, while completely overlooking and discrediting all the other games on their resume! You have to look at the whole body of work and complete resume and ND has destroyed almost every team they have played and they have beat good ranked teams! It is like everyone wants to Ignore ND's entire resume and act like everything they have done shouldn't count and be discredited because of the NIU loss! It is like everyone acts like the NIU game is the only game that should count and matter on ND's whole resume and that is just petty and ridiculous! Not a Notre Dame hater, but when a team loses at home to a MAC team that isn't even in the top 50% of the MAC standings, that team does not deserve to be considered a top 10 team. Without Irish goggles on, that game does matter and exposed their weaknesses. They are a good football team, but ND would be a 3 loss team in either the SEC or Big 10.

See the difference between your comment and mine is just about everything I said is based on fact and truth and most of what you said is based on feelings and emotions and skewed opinions. The only thing you mentioned that has truth to it was the fact ND lost to NIU and as I said many times, that game should count and it does count, just like all the games should count based on a teams complete resume and full body of work! The NIU loss is the reason ND is in the eighth spot right now and not even higher. If ND actually beat NIU, they could make a case for the #1 team in the nation, based off of how they are playing right now, along with their entire body of work! I always love all the SEC bias, but every time they play the ACC out of conference they get smacked most of the time.
