We learn as we grow - your results here are stupendous. Being cut from a similar cloth as you, swooning over Hoyas is a given. Two years ago, I bought a Carnosa Princess - what is there not to love? - and was so thrilled, though uneducated and winging it, that I found a beautiful Chinese ceramic pot and made the connection, not realizing that the pot was far too large, and it has spent 2 years growing roots. However, in Jan '23, it began to make promises, and in the last week, two vines with two leaves each have begun to enchant the garden. They are incredibly various and painterly, entering the world with pink or red centres in the leaves, maturing into dark green-margined paintings, framed so cleverly. Braggadocious this time, with apologies. Sheer luck, it must be confessed. 💐
Oh my goodness, I feel like you've been posting a lot of videos lately!! Yay!!! What a treat--I'm so happy that you seem to be feeling inspired :). I love your videos, and I especially love hearing about growth updates. You're awesome!
I was just contemplating some hoya purchases and it's nice to be reminded that smaller plants do eventually get big! Obovata is definitely on the list now....
I desperately need to take pictures of my plants when I buy them. I’ve been meaning to do this for years now and never do. I’d love to see the progression in photos. I have plants that I bought as seedlings that are now on 6 foot moss polls. I so wish I could see the progression over the years. Such an interesting and fun video!
Wowzers😱🙌💖I understand that Hoya obovata variegata splash would give me buyers anxiety too, but take a look at it now🥰And you did cuttings and they have grown into full plants😲💢I love that! I enjoyed watching🤲🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Adam you have the most beautiful plants. I’m in Michigan and struggle with keeping my humidity up and giving my plants enough bright light. It’s even dryer in Arizona but you manage to grow the most beautiful Hoya’s. Must be all that great bright Arizona light! Love your videos. ❤️
This video is the first time I’ve seen an inner variegated Hoya Obovata with normal round leaves😍 every other one I’ve seen the leaves are always misshapen. I thought it just didn’t grow how the regular Obovata did because of the inner variegation. Now I really want one and have the goal of growing perfect like yours💚
She is beautiful. I have a Hoya Penny and it has done nothing for over 2 years so I understand. At least your first plant is growing. The others are beautiful. Keep up the good work. That $85 was well worth it.
And, that Obavata variegata w/splash would be bigger if a good chunk of it wasn’t sitting in my kitchen ☺️ I feel honored to have a knot dude favorite.
Just start listening your potted together podcasts. In episode 3 you talked about hoya, so I looked you up. I never expected this kind of Hoya love. Amazing! Thank you for being so excited about Hoya. I just watch three of your Hoya videos! Love it! Can’t wait to see my Hoya in two years.
Hi Adam! I love that you're doing more videos and hope they continue on a regular basis. You always make my day! It's amazing how well all of your Hoyas are doing after just 2 years. I have to agree with you that the Hoya Obovata (variegata w/ splash) is so beautiful! It's my favorite, too! It's exciting that it is flowering. You definitely have the right to be braggadocios about this Hoya! LOL! You definitely have a green thumb. I wish my Hoyas grew that fast, especially where you said you've taken cuttings and they've gotten so big, too. It was fun seeing how different you look, too! I really like the update videos because it helps to see what they will/should look like. How do you determine which Hoyas to grow in LECA vs. soil? And, do you feed the Hoyas in soil the same mix you use for the semi hydro? Thank you so much for sharing!
I remember when you first unboxed these Hoyas. I was so in love with that obovata splash that i had my heart set on buying one. I couldn’t bring myself to spend $85. Flash forward two years and I ended up buying one from you for a bit more than that. And honestly it means a lot more to me that it came from the plant that I originally fell in love with! And from one of my favorite Internet people! Forever grateful to you!
Im back for more Hoyas but I'm lowkey here for your nails lol. 😍🖤I looooove your choice of nail polish colors, but Imma need a hoya friend like you because the growth on those Hoyas are unreal and GOALS AF!
So happy to see you posting. Your obovata variegated with spash is gorgeous! Goals! Love the lime green variegation on the darker obovata variegated. I am eagerly anticipating more growth updates! So fun to see.... hopefully? 😉💚🌿💚
Great video, Adam! 💕 I, too, do enjoy those year-to-date/where-are-they-now plant videos. They’re not only subjects to share, but chronicling/vlogging for yourself.
Scintillating hoyas! Great video. I'm on to my second wave of hoya collecting. The first was twenty odd years ago and I only have a compacta left. It has lived in state of acute neglect ... but has stretched to metres long and flowers frequently. I'm now inspired to give it better care along with my cosseted thirty odd new hoya friends I acquired during the last year !!
Yaaaa!! I just started again w hoyas. After murdering my first too many attempts. I have 7 hoyas now. The obovata is amazing. Going to hunt for a variagata now. Beautiful. Just beautiful. Thank you so ❤️🌱🌱❤️🌱
Great to see you back. Your Hoya's are growing so well. My first Hoya 3 years into rooting it has grown a lot and bloomed flowers, pink ones that smell like chocolate when they first open, Take care.
Those are ovobata goals! I’m living vicariously through you as even the green version are really hard and pricey to get in the UK. Loved seeing the progress your 2 leaf cuttings made in 2 years 🙂
Two years later an I’m still lusting over your V Obavota. 😍😍😍 I did buy one an keeps putting out green leaves an I keep chopping it off. 😅 You can brag..... 😀💚
Great video. Your Hoya plants are beautiful especially the Obovata Variegatas; I have just started collecting them so will have to hunt that variety down. I love your t-shirt btw.
me eyeing the hoya wibergiae one leaf cutting I bought EXCLUSIVELY because of the pink splashes for 30 euros... Anyway hopefully it'll grow XD thanks for the info about the splashes turning color with light ! :)
Wish I hadn’t watched this lol… I was feeling like I had enough plants and probably didn’t like Hoyas before I saw yours. Gorgeous! The obivata are amazing!
Thank you for this video! I have fallen for Hoyas and am slowly transitioning my collection to mostly Hoya . Can you please make a video on how to care for them (light, temperature, humidity, soil mix, fertilizer, etc) so they can grow as well and beautifully as yours. Gracias!
Your Hoyas are stunning! You, Kaylee and Nicole inspired me to get Hoyas from Margarita twice. It’s been a year now for the mathilda splash and gray ghost and they are doing so well. I was also nervous about the prices and how long they took to get to me but no regrets now 💙!
Wow your obovatas are stunning!!! I especially like it as a trailing plant. I only have 1 hoya, but this video has me convinced I need an obovata varigata lol
Those Obovatas are gorgeous 😭😭 I've been so on the fence about an Obovata Variegata (despite really wanting one) but after this, I SO MUCH prefer the Variegata Splash 🥰
I'm just getting to know hoyas, actually plants in general and my first hoya was the Obovata. I'm basically a new plant parent and my Obovata is growing slowly and it just look dull. Yours is motivation to do better. Any advice would be more than welcome.
Holy cow, you have the most beautiful obavatas I've ever seen 😭😭

I gave up on trying to keep up humidity. Thankfully Hoya can thrive without it!!

I thought it just didn’t grow how the regular Obovata did because of the inner variegation. Now I really want one and have the goal of growing perfect like yours💚
soooo true 😮 But why? how do these leaves grow so beautiful and round and not curling...who knows the secret 🤔🙈
I LOVE hoyas and philodendrons. They have been my mot rewarding plants.
She is beautiful. I have a Hoya Penny and it has done nothing for over 2 years so I understand. At least your first plant is growing. The others are beautiful. Keep up the good work. That $85 was well worth it.
