- A compilation of trains filmed at DeKalb Avenue on October 11, 2022 on both platforms. At this station, trains coming from Manhattan via the Montague Street Tunnel or either pair of tracks on the Manhattan Bridge can be routed to the Local or Express tracks of the Fourth Avenue Line or the Brighton Line via a pair of complicated junctions on either end of the stations. These junctions form a major bottleneck and have been the subject of numerous deinterlacing schemes.

This station seems complicated but I can break it down. This is actually a local station since there are two center bypass tracks. Those inner set of tracks are the express tracks between the Broadway and Fourth Ave Lines. The middle set of tracks are the local tracks between the same lines. So the express tracks take a shortcut like on the Culver and Queens Blvd Lines. As for the outer set of tracks, they’re actually a continuation of the Sixth Ave Line’s express tracks which stop at this station and then continue as the Brighton Line’s express tracks. So the outermost tracks are technically on a separate line, thus making this a typical local station when ignoring them. The Broadway express tracks and the Sixth Ave express tracks have flying junctions just before the station that allow trains on either to switch onto the other, which is currently done by the D and Q whereas the B and N follow their tracks consistently with the track information on the top. The flying junctions are used in the same manner as the ones at Camden Town on the Northern Line on the London Underground.
