I used to have a "Spinny" really great starter. Not too defensive, it doesn't lunge at you when cleaning out the water dish or bits of uneaten food. And while it likes to have a burrow it also likes being out and about. If you are a quite person and you are watching TV if it's in the room with you the constant tap tap tap as the claws bump the tank walls can get a bit annoying. Hahaha
If anyone who uses a heat mat, use a thermostat and put mat on the side, not underneath, kinda pees me off how TSS doesn't even mention this at all to new keepers and sell starter kits without one.

You need much more substrate than that it's okay for a temporary setup but Spinifer dig and tunnel like fk so deep substrate is a must.
