      Those Nemesises... Nemesi? Just Nemesis? Whatever, anyway. Those (insert plural here) dishonoured the very words 'rock and stone' by uttering it from their robotic speaker mouthes and man they paid the price. These eldritch horrors will learn the harm that will befall them if they utter that sacred name, even if it is in fear.

    My speculation is that the reason the core has gone rouge is because of the error cubes. They pulsate almost as if their alive but they just exist. We don't know what they are, where they come from, why they're on hoxxes, etc. I got this idea from a drg reddit creepypasta.

      I always just imagined it was a tongue and cheek reference to the fact that it's all a video game and they're random bits of broken code manifesting in their world.

      @D-Lock-8 I have zero clue what the connection between error helixes and error cubes are, other than the name and them being a rare find. Error cubes have reflective silver spikes surrounding them. ECs also glow pink, and the actual cube is a black rubix cube with white borders. They are called "ERR//23¤Y%/", meaning error 23. When an EC is collected you get 1 EC, 2500c, and 4000-6000 xp. Error helixes are large black DNA structured helixes. They appear most commonly appear in the radioactive exclusion zone and are most commonly found in groups of 2-5. They are a medium material that grants nothing. The ground below EHs will have these small gold pebbles. Their name is "ERR://19%T#/" meaning error 19. The 4 symbols after the number are different, the most noticeable difference is the Y and T. For more information read the drg wiki.

      @D-Lock-8 the only similarities between the two are being black, being a rare find, and the name. The most noticeable difference is that after the number the 4 symbols are different the most relevant difference is the Y and T, also the 19 and 23.     honestly the idea of more non-bug horrors on hoxxes seems super interesting to me, especially this humanoid thing. I know the notes rule out the idea of an infected, lost miner like you said, but i feel that would be a really cool and creepy idea for another enemy in the future! I'm pumped for the uncanny, horror-based enemies that may be in rogue core.

    I always assumed humans existed in DRG universe.
    If you read the website there's a section that says "Why Dwarves?" and it goes on to explain how naturally effective dwarves are for DRG work.
    We know elves exist, and I'm not even 100% sure that the mission control guy is a dwarf.
    Humans are probably planetside developing technology, maybe even the weapons used by DRG. The dwarves complain about technology enough that I don't see them being the ones making the equipment, including the rival company bots.
    That's just my theory though.

      When they first released the Rival Company stuff, me and my friends theorised that they were elves, using AI and machine because 1. The tunnels and caves are too small for a tall elf walk comfortably. 2. The planet is too dangerous to risk elven lives exploring it (au contraire for the dwarves who jumped head first inside the guts of the planet)

    Early drafts for this game concept can be summed up as: “It’s GTFO.”
    Humanoid as a keyword doesn’t actually mean “human,” it means the design humans take. So the body has distinct arms and legs, but the uncanny comes into the fact it uses all 4 to walk instead of being bipedal.

    Unsettling. Season 5 is the leadup to this Nightmare Fuel too lol. I'm beginning to wonder...was Hoxxes just randomly found? Was the fact it's suppose to be a well kept secret for the resources or a well kept secret for what lied deeper...
    ...how ironic would it be; that there are mining companies who are fully aware of Hoxxes but got the memo of unspeakable horrors--then pretend Hoxxes doesn't exist as a safety measure. "We don't go to Ravenholm anymore" sorta deal.

    Hyped af, I don’t understand why some people just want them to only focus on the base game, it’s already 6 years old, and as a veteran when it first came out in alpha, I think it’s time to accept they can’t just keep adding to the same game over and over. Some guy in the comments wants it to be like Fortnite, with rotating shops, creative modes, ship customization, but that would remove the genuineness of DRG. Whatever way GSG goes I am going to happily follow. Truly the AAA killers

    11:53 the low poly actually works to there advantage in the case of this game , our brains try to make sense of what were seeing but the low poly and the darkness reduces the details of what we see letting our brain fill in the gaps which is the key to good horror

    Love that they are drifting in a more creepy direction, i think low poly horror can often be creepier than the most realistic shit ever, especially on a budget, one of the exceptions to this rule is that fucking baby thing from that resident evil game (like what the fuck)

    The Crawler reminds me a lot of Gollum from Lord of the Rings, All Fours, Wet Cave Goblin, and Uncanny Valley. Gollum checks all the boxes

    I can see the creeper as another ‘abducter’ enemy. It stalks the team from afar, and when they aren’t paying attention or distracted it runs in, snags a dwarf and runs of to pick at it at their leisure.

    I like the prototype with the gulper eel/sarcastic fringemouth... Mouth. It feels the most like an animal that happens to fall into the uncanny valley, rather than something designed to do that. I also really like fish and fishy designs so im biased

    I know they said they'd give the crawler simple intelligence, but since this is a humanoid, stalk/hunt creature i would absolutely love to see them make it able to mimic player voice lines like the lethal company skinwalker mod.

    Just throwing hats in the ring but maybe you could find glyphid enclaves that have made their way lower into Hoxxes and have the glyphids be hostile to the crawlers. The crawlers could be stealing glyphid eggs and were followed by some base game enemies trying to reclaim the eggs. Would be pretty sweet if your run could be saved by a glyphid swarm unknowingly take aggro for you. Could also have possibilities for plays against crawler bosses if a bulk Detonator spawns.

    As a DBD (Dead by Daylight) player, it's INCREDIBLE how DRG managed to come up with a 10x BETTER design for a SIMILAR concept as the DBD new killer (The Unknown), that said, rock and stone miners, see you in the mines.

    If they are looking at more role-based critters, for Rogue Core, and perhaps a level of tactical coordination between those roles, I would love to see the Crawler and critters like it. Perhaps more on the L4D side, with multiple "special" critters who have attacks that perhaps tie down a character until a teammate can recover them. Even if some critters use some rudimentary tactics, such as using cover or maneuvering to exploit flanks, or lure players into ambushes, that would be a huge improvement, and enhances difficulty and challenge as well. Maybe there will be some critters we can hunt that are cunning and stealthy rather than just massive, like the dreadnought exterm missions.

    You know guys what would be cool, if the crawler would mimic the voicelines of dwarves to lure them in traps, like glyphid webs or chasms. Would players just stop using voicelines to avoid the crawler? No problem, add esscort side mision where they need to save a dwarf stuck in caves and actively is making voicelines.

    Thought it was kinda odd, I think it'll definitely look a lot different to how it's shown especially humanoid feels like it wouldn't really work. With the games style it will probably end up with a bipedal stance occasionally crawling on fours but it's probably not going to have a humanlike face, it would make zero sense.
    Also due to the fact the caves are mm mostly pitch black there would be essentially zero insentive for these things to adapt a face mask, maybe the rougher shape makes sense it they touch eachother in the dark to communicate. Or idk, could be the remnant's of their surface dwelling days, they'd be like endermen from Minecraft.

    all the term humanoid implies is 2 arms 2 legs... so youve already been interacting with humanoids in OG DRG, also there are humans canonically("have you been mistaken for a human" voiceline in the entry to levels comes to mind), its just that your team in DRG is comprised entirely of dwarves...

    Ok so I've paused the video to say this idk if you'll say it later on. Just the phrase 'Born/grown like this' gives a lot of details. Grown, that is not a natural word, if it occurred naturally it would be 'grows like this' so maybe they are theorising about having someone making these eldritch horrors intentionally.

    I don’t think the current design matches the style of DRG. In my opinion, I imagine a creature that is more of a defensive feeder/scavenger, rather than a predator, I envision it with a relatively small mouth, large eyes, a small torso, and long arms and legs.
    I would also imagine that it has an environmental trigger, perhaps some things that when destroyed, causes it to get angry and attack the player, that, or, in every map where it spawns it has a small dwelling area with lots of loot, that when intruded, causes it to become hostile.
    I also imagine that it has a bony chest, as crawling around on the rocks would scrape soft tissue, and I imagine it has bony forearms with sharp claws at the end.

    Made me think of the juggernaut for a second. Halo I mean. Don’t know why, like beast on the thumbnail has multiple fused bodies, spine there, another over there, etc.

    one thing I don't understand is why would humanoid things would develop in a deeper level and not just below the surface? I mean, I would expect to see weirder bugs or other entities near the core, but not a thing related to humans.

    These things do look scary, but I will not be afraid. I will show them I am a dwarf. That said I hope they will be taller than the player character because the player is a dwarf, and dwarves are short.

      I think its another game, but season 5 for drg is going to be like a preview of rouge core

      It's closer to regular DRG than to survivor, but it will have roguelike progression on your runs, hence the name

      I'm pleasantly surprised that Rogue Core isn't just a top-down shooter. Deep Rock Survivor was a red herring roguelike. Whatever Rogue Core is, it's going to be amazing.
