It's definitely one of the best looking and driving hybrids. Looks very sporty and fast. Strangely there is no gear box at all, yet it feels like the car is changing gears :D But as I said, there is no gear box! It's working as an electric car, with a petrol engine working as an electric generator making electricity for electric engine. There is only 1 gear, which is used in higher motorway speeds, when the electric engine is not that efficient and for the car is better using the combustion engine. Other than that, car is moving only on electric engine and can be very efficient esp in the town and low speeds.
Had my advance in the same colour since January and I can't really find anything wrong at all!! Also the advance has a lot of extra kit over the sport. 12 speaker Bose is unbelievable, HUD, rear heated seats, panoramic roof and the adaptive matrix lights are superb. I love mine. Quality car!!
Had my Advance in the same colour for 9 months now in same colour. I’m averaging 50mpg mostly in sport mode. I cannot fault the car but not looking forward to renewing my road tax in February when it will cost nearly £600 but that’s the cost of buying the top spec model.
the car is mainly driven by a motor, the engine just tops up the power of the battery which in turn powers the motor. the motor is only de coupled at high speeds which is when the 2.0 ltr engine decouples the motor and let the engine drive the front wheels
Nicely put Tim, your upload clashed with the Scotland game, but I managed to watch both. At the same time. Honda looking nice but prefer the bmw, Audi suv more.
HRV is only better in the town because it's a much lighter car. So you can get around 73 mpg with light foot driving in the town. However on motorways or with more passengers on board HRVs 1.5L is missing power and eats more fuel, and ZRV will be much better. I did holidays in Italy with HRV, 4 people on board, a full boot, we did around 1100 miles and fuel consumption 28mpg on the way there. Many long and steep motorway miles and lots of suffering for little 1.5. Constantly screaming for help🤣 On the way home it was 36mpg with a calm ride 135 km/h. So for a city driving HRV is better but for motorway or longer rides ZRV will be better.
I have the top of the range model and really like it apart from when it tried to stop me from going over the middle line when I was overtaking a vehicle without indicating. Not just this car though lots of the newer models do this and I think it is dangerous.
Great video Tim! Just realised that this ZR-V has a larger fuel tank than the Civic e:HEV you reviewed previously - I wonder if its because of packaging reasons? Would be good if Honda could update that Civic with the same size tank for like 700 mile range as its lighter & aerodynamic 🤞

Picking up the Advance model next week.
Nice great car!
How was it??

It’s a no brainer when looking for a good all round Hybrid for sure!
And what about road noise?
How are long journey comfort and road noise on it?
@thug3m very good. Most of the time the Bose is pumping anyway so you can't hear anything!! Haha

Another great video
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching mate!

Thanks for watching 👍
Great video 📹.. thank you for doing miles range test .. Do you think Honda Hrv is better economy. Than Zrv ?
Thanks mate!
I think both would be similar but ZRV should do it!

Nice review! But what about road noise?
Could you please review Hyundai kona hybrid and real mpg test and if possible Full tank miles test 🙏 thank you

Good question! The civic is probably my favourite hybrid for those reasons for sure!
Shall I get this or Nissan Qashqai
@@centralkingdom8141 I was torn between the two as well and finally went for the top of the range Honda.
It beeps at you three times when you exceed the speed limit by 1 mpg. It’s a great car though.
