This new mini-series takes us into the fascinating world of the TT Races, featuring in-depth interviews with some of the greatest road racers of all-time. They talk us through the racing, the festival, the Island, the atmosphere, the spectacle, and what it’s like to tackle the Isle of Man TT and to live life ‘Between the Hedges’.

The starter has so much responsibility, he will be the last person to touch the riders with his tap on the shoulder to send them off, and unfortunately it will be the last contact for some. Ten seconds, tap on the shoulder then hurtling down Glencrutchry Road like a missle, wonderful stuff indeed.

That summary about the 10-second gap is simply beautiful. And that last part when the engines come back in near 11:16 is just magic. Every time I repay this video I get chills. And I have watched this video more times than I can count.

It's the purity of the TT of just rider, road , and machine that I find so appealing.
It's the same for me as a rider, track days are fun but it just doesn't compare to when it's just me, my trusty ol' 996 and a fantastic empty road. Even if that road isn't quite as good as what the TT course would be!
*This* is the greatest show on earth.
Just thinking about riding my bike in anger round this scares me but riding a 200bhp+ superbike round that at those speeds is something else entirely. Hats off to these lads absolutely mental but the thrill and experience must be something else! Thank you for this series, it's eye opening on another level

super ...fantastique ...des pilotes qui sont au mieux de ce peut faire un homme face a lui même en concentration ultime et il se battent contre le chronomètre . ils ont des choses en plus que nous autres . . très grand RESPECT . superbe série et films je me revois encore au bord de la piste . depuis adolescent je voulait aller voir le T.T et je suis allé 3 fois assister au T.T et toujours je reste admiratif devant cette force humaine pour se dépasser . Excellent series. Just on a side note, at 10:57, there’s a typo on Dean’s Superbike lap record, stating 132.432mph rather than 134.432mph.
Yes, it is important to proof read these things before release. As a former printer, I absolutely hate seeing sloppy errors like this. The rest of the video is great. TT admin crew should do better !

Guy Martin has the best pre race ritual. Guy drives his van to the beach spends the night in the back listening to the ocean, wakes up has a wank and then proceeds to do 200 mph in the TT. Guy is a Maverick of the TT

I went to the TT in 2014 - from NZ - been a dream since the old dude next door would give me his bike mags with black leathers and pudding basin helmets - 40 years later I got there. There is a 'magic' there - the energy you feel, that power just in the air is not just bikes and people, It was a magical place long before the TT . manx cats, 6 horned sheep, shire horses pulling the trams - the ravens! even the critters were 'different' . .

Going out No 1 or No 20 on the road isn't the issue for me. It's just going out and going full bore on the TT circuit.
I wouldn't mind doing a leisurely lap, well within my limits, but that'd probably take me at least 40 mins per lap .
So respect to those who can do it anywhere sub 25 mins , let alone the 16 mins 42 seconds that Hicky has done !

Ten seconds can seem like forever. When you ride in the TT
8:16 to 8:30 perfect picture. I don't know where in this video but, WHEN you're in a turn and you see a straight line between the turns ahead of you, you pin it, and your front end rises up you've already straightened for the most part and you gas forward. It's just you and the machine and at a moment like that, you're not letting anything stop you.

Who is the narrator? He is fantastic.
This series is quite similar to Launch Control by Subaru - very, very well made and unbelievably interesting.
That was really interesting seeing almost everyone who’s been #1 on the road absolutely wanted it before and ended up hating the experience. Except for John of course, but he’s just a different animal.
