Hello!! I came over from Byron's channel. So happy to have discovered you. Your channel looks amazing and I can't wait to try out these meringues this week!
These wickedly devilish Irish whiskey Mocha Meringues will have us singing and dancing all the way to St Patricks Day, a fantastic pairing of flavours and textures it's a worthy dessert for any occasion. Best of all (in my case anyway) meringue tastes divine even before cooked I'm usually less one on the tray by the time i walk over to the oven...now with the addition of chocolate and coffee who knows what the outcome will be...time to travel over to Byron!
I think i just fell in love hahaha.. Chocolate+coffee+whipped cream=love I'm definitely gonna make this the next time i go home!! I'm so glad you made a collab with byron.. Because of it i found another great chef here on youtube!!

Donal, I don't really care for meringues (texture, dryness) but this looks absolutely delicious. I feel I MUST give this a try! ---& Love that you're teaming up with some of my other YT favs.
I'm 3/8 Irish (though Canadian born and raised); my mom is 1/2 and my dad is 1/4. My dad's also half Pennsylvania Dutch (both his parents were half as well) and 1/4 Welsh, and my mom's half English (her dad was born there). When my youngest brother was little, he had red hair, which we thought was going to stay; but it turned dark brown as he got older (although he does have a thin red beard). Now it looks just like our dad's (minus the gray edges, lol), except my dad was blond as a baby. My hair's also dark brown, but with red highlights that show up vividly in bright sunlight; just like my mom. When she was my age, her hair looked JUST like mine does now!
I've never been a huge fan of meringues before, because the ones I've had were kind of flavorless, but these look great, I might have to give them a try.
You're an amazing cook and I love your recipes. Also, I'm digging the way you talk. (People who are not English native speakers are somewhat fascinated by the different accents of the British Isles hehe )

Gorgeous Donal ! Question: Did your meringue recipe yield the 8 meringues that you show finished? Every time I see a Crunchie chocolate bar I think of you - the cake that you made that had all of the Americans asking what a Crunchie bar was. So many responses. Super cute ! If you weren't putting coffee in, could you just make 'hot choc' inspired meringues by substituting a bit more cocoa instead of espresso? These look amazing!
Little suggestion: what about a pinch of cinnamon thrown in the mix as well? Fits with the coffee, the chocolate and the whisky, I'd think, and adds that "what is that?" to the background.
Woww we make meringues in Chile, only no irish whiskey cream and no mokka/cocoa in them, these look way better in my opinion and they are hugeee. Hugs :)
