Great animals the cape porcupines ... despite being a regular and having made dozens of visits I've only ever seen one out in the actual paddock once. Always nice to see 'backstage' on your videos 😊

There's a great video from another zoo which has a nursery for cubs/other babies who - for whatever reason - have to be separated temporarily or permanently from mum. And it is ruled by a meercat who is a permanent resident there. Fascinating to watch and also to see how even lion and tiger cubs are frightened of her.

I've seen the cape porcupines, but generally just lying cuddled up not actually out and about.
Its great to see behind the scenes!
I love seeing clips of different animals munching and crunching.
The merlerkats are so funny rolling around and playing 😂

Yes you don’t often get to see them in action! This was nice to see, they’re really sweet.

These are important educational and informative videos. Technology has removed humans far from the complexity of the ecosystems that are critical to support human life that are unknown, or unseen, or ignored.

Looks like a cool place! No, Cape porcupines do not have barbs on their quills. North American porcupines do. Our porcupines that we work with (Snickers and Quillbur) love their sweet potatoes and bananas the best.🙂
