Love the live version. So great to hear the reactions. After I've watched the demo several times first. Holy moly what a demo, jaw dropping from start to finish.
The best C64 demo I ever saw. Now I did recognize some effects we also did back in the 80s. Like the blank screens. Fnck this is amazing. If you went back and showed this to people back then, they wouldn't believe you.
Loved beeing in the crowd last Saturday. The sound in the room was epic, the heavy bass in the music kicked ass and elevated the demo experience to new heights. Masterpiece!
Thanks a lot (Merci Beaucoup) Fairlight for sharing this live version session! I watched remotely the demo on Twitch and it was mind blowing and unforgettable event !
That time hasnt ended. You are more than welcome back to push limits. Its not like seniors golf league where standard is lower. These seniors rock the ass of their younger selves :)
I love this Demo! This Demo will go down in the history of the C64 subculture! An audio visual feast with amazing Trident code. Fairlight you are an amazing group of wonderful, highly talented people! Sincere congratulations to you from me
Beautiful demo! And is it safe to assume that FLESCOS has nothing to do with the ghost byte? It's not gray, and the pixels are not one clock cycle apart... So... I hope there will be a follow-up video about it with technical details!
No ghost byte as I understand it. There might be a directors comment video eventually. Now we first need publishing of all the video material from the party :)
It is indeed. Lovely this year. Possibly a bit too quiet this year and a bit too crowded last year, but I am ready to take it any way I can get it... X rules big time!
Just a question... Are there hidden parts or have you managed to fill the disks with 0 bit left ? PS : I loved in the FLESCOS part the references to Bob Stevenson "Tut Ench Amon" and "Juno"... which were included in ESCOS 1 by 1001 Crew (and not 1337 Crew, I see what you did there!)
@@FairLight1337 Vice's warp helps a lot. Thank you! (Yeah, I'm an emulamer, but my stock C-64 is still in the basement, and I think it's less reliable than Vice, because somebody sold me the comp without saying he had done some bad experimentations with EPROMs...)
I commented on your previous upload already, but truly a great demo! The minor ‘complaint’ I would have is that there are so many crazy cool effects in the demo that it’s hard to grasp the complexity on first viewing because they’re used so casually and for a few seconds only. With Adam’s demos it takes multiple viewings to truly appreciate the majestic art and skill on display! Two other things: do you guys know why (with the exception of layers) there were zero other really noteworthy demos on display from the ‘big competitors’? Where was everyone? Lastly, I saw Raistlin on csdb claiming that flescos isn’t actually a new effect, just a previous one slightly improved. Any comment on that..?
A lot of the major groups did concentrate their efforts for last year. We were hoping for Booze, but that didn't happen. Most stuff builds on other stuff. No interest to argue with Robert over that. Generally there was a wish to use FLESCOS as an acronym as it sounds so funny in Swedish
Ah, they were using a VIC dizer i guess with rgb2hdmi. If so, yes it's not perfectly stable and accurate even if the picture is supposed to be pixel perfect, but I have experienced the same kind of issue using it on my C64. Anyhow, what a fantastic and epic Demo ! I must say it's perfect from all perspectives. I love when Super High Tech effects / GFXs / SFXs are used to serve a very cool and original story telling !
@@FairLight1337 Yes most of the time super good. now i guess funky code from Trident is required to push it to its limits :P I was blown away by the perfect pixel image it generates the first time i used it. Humble thanks 🙏🙏🙏
I felt underwhelmed with the crowd in the first half or so. Lots of great stuff on display, but (too) tame reactions…

Sometimes it takes a while to have everyone onboard the ride. As long as you have them before the end, you did good.
@@FairLight1337 - The story telling and of course the technicals is what sets FLT apart from the rest. You guys killed it in 2024... again. :)
You are really squeezing the last ounce of blood from the stone. Poor little machine :) Congrats for the win!
them raster splits were pure love, well earned win FL
Thanks 🙏🙏🙏
One of the greatest demos ever made. Amazing!
Humble thanks for that comment!

A toi aussie... :)
This belongs in a museum for permanent display. Holy shit.
Feel free. Provided without royalty.
That was really great. One of the best demos ever imo!
Thanks 🙏🙏🙏
This is so nostalgic, it hurts... I miss that time when bit scrapping the hardware was a real sport.

Thanks Fairlight! Loved these demos during the early 90s!
This one is from this year so we keep the coming!
Indeed It's Leet! Lived every second of it including the crowd reaction and the technical bug disclosure
Thanks :)

I noticed that too, lovely tease in the first three images as ‘this can be ghost bytes’ (as they were black/grey), but then color kicking in!
Only Adam knows that.
the best c64 demo I've ever seen and I was there live. best work!
Humble thanks pal
Masterpiece ❤
Fantastic demo at the best c64 only party on the planet. So happy I was there with you guys. ❤️📺‼️😻

I am so impressed. Pure love, Fairlight. Pls let more dreams come true!
Working on it :)
congrats FLT, great stuff. Loving the reaction video.
Thanks :)
Dreams come true! Awesome Demo

Great Stuff. The live reaction is all the money.
The video is worse but it's still interesting to hear what triggered the people there.
Always a joy. Congrats on the well deserved win. *bows

And I also laughed at the 1337 crew :)

Don't be shy about that - I do 99.9% of my work in the emulator.
Beautiful! Damn.
Thatnks :)

We have been alive for quite some time and still at it :)

Osäker på det, men vi är rejält nöjda. :)
no, you are breathtaking

Congrats!!! Well deserved 1st place :) Raster splits, omg!!! Cheers :)
I loved that statement as well. Thanks 🙏
You all have been absolutely incredible lately; I honestly thought you'd take a break after The Ghost 😂
More already in the pipe. :)
New graphic mode? Wow! Can explain this?
Awesome demo and the design of human remember me the best of amiga by bitmap brothers!!!!
We are planning a "directors comments" where Trident will need to explain his trickery.
I would like too play this track in a special DJ set, hit me up if that's cool.

@@FairLight1337 I figured FLESCOS meant 'FairLight Extended Sprites Combined w/ Other Sprites' ;-)
I honestly don't know, but I will forward the question. I just think Adam found that to be a humorous twost to the ESCOS acronym.
