I flipped the spring leaf shackles to lower the rear and heated the front coil springs to adjust the ride height. I never had funds to do it anyhow else. I thought to check out this video to see what lowering technique was applied, nicely done Generation Oldschool but I'll stick to my old ways.

Hi William, I must admit I wasn’t a fan of you lowering your Chevy but it definitely looks cool and I like the fact you can put it back to standard if you want. Don’t get me wrong I love bagged cars and trucks but love that stock classic look of yours. New shocks will definitely help with the ride and maybe new suspension bushes to tighten it all up underneath. Great job👌

Now, one thing I would change is, loose those eye brows over your headlights. I realize that is part of the look but I would rather like to see frenched headlights then those add ons. Other then that, Very nice. You were very lucky to find one in that great a shape.👌👍

When I changed the diff on my 50 Styleline coupe I noticed how the U bolts were. (Same as yours) Different to the more modern, over the diff tube style, but it is the correct way for the torque tube.
My car had some of the springs flipped also which makes it sit lower than yours and the tall tyres (670R15 Firestones) grab the top of the wheel arches in the rear when I go on an angle, like into a driveway. Also I get slight fender rub on full lock steering at the front. The torque tube used to hit the floor on big bumps also. Now with a 9 inch diff I get tailshaft chatter if I accelerate too hard. So I have to just cruise everywhere. The only way I reckon for this style of car 👍You can also use air shocks which are adjustable for height and therefore ride quality. They are a little more expensive and you can mount an on board compressor or just put a valve for adjusting with an external compressor. I looked into it but decided on future air bags or hydroshocks.

Ola Mi Amigo Cubano from Califas, Los Angeles. Why put a modern mustang suspension. When u do it , it will drive like a modern car. U will take the entire originality and feel of driving an old school Ranfla.
As for the drum brakes I have never had problems after everything is fine tuned. The only time the drum brakes are a negative is when it rains heavy. But like u stated it's a weekend Raflita
