The Super Case and Maxi Dial make the Rolex Submariner 114060 iconic. In my humble opinion it broke the mold; the brutalist esthetics and pure tool watch looks sets it apart from all Rolex Submariner Reference.
@@spittinvenom9843That's debatable. The size of the clasp ballooned on the new 124060, and the bracelet doesn't taper as much. The watch is heavier and less comfortable than the 114060. Sure, the 3135 has less PR, but it also works. The new movements have had some issues.
Just acquired the 124060, the black stallion!! A simple, bang on beauty, stare into the abyss it is a retro inspired dream piece with proper modern movement and lume. Great video, solid talk from an enthusiast.
@@twosecondswatch i’ve only had a few moments to compare it to the previous model, and the differences are minute, we are talking about fractions of a millimetre and the biggest differences are the ones you can’t see with respect to the movement and the anti-reflective coating, believe me if you have any of these Subs you’re one happy guy, they are grails
If I was the Rolex rep I would have advised you to seriously consider the 36mm Oyster Perpetual, a much better fit and would be more suited to you, but hey, it's your choice but sometimes you have to put comfort first as the main consideration.
😆 Now that you mention it, I think this is the no. 1 most faked watch in the world, especially this model! I agree the older generation is much better in a Neo vintage kind of way.
The 114060 is a great choice.. The slightly slimmer bracelet is super comfortable and the maxi case has more wrist presence despite being 40mm....The latest version is a fusion of old and new thus in my opinion being a hybrid...and not as iconic as the 114060
Oops 😬. I keep referring it to easy link/micro adjustment - you’re right the correct patented name by Rolex is called glide lock. Thanks for pointing it out! 😃
I guess I have a small 6 inch wrist… However if you compare the Yacht-master with similar dimensions, you don’t see this problem. Do have a watch of the video and compare… it really is the case design and it affects the wearability of a watch. Do have a watch and see it side by side… ruclips.net/p/PLiEix_JpO7J8zmo4_4PeThldT0o1RereO
Panerai are the biggest heaps of junk going. That brand has totally lost the plot. Once were great now they are totally irrelevant in the watch world. Would love to see them make a return to their historic quality and classic models. I won’t be holding my breath.
It’s true at one point Panerai was really a popular brand, but it seems that over the years they only had that ‘one watch’ design and lost their original appeal along the way. It’s a bit like what Tudor is doing with the Black Bay series. Everything is the same Black Bay. Except Tudor doesn’t seem to be losing popularity…. Yet
@@twosecondswatch But the quality in the finishing and the movements that Panerai have been turning out has gone backwards massively. It’s a real shame.
I have Rolexes and don't have the Rolex disease. That is a very plain watch. There is nothing special about it. Rolex is merely an entry level luxury watch.
I suppose it is all subjective. To a billionaire, a Patek is entry level. The Rolex Submariner is beyond entry level. The engineering and robustness alone shows this.
Nowadays older original Rolex Subs in a good shape are surely real collectors item. If you love them, try to get one of these iconic time pieces. But all the recent versions are technically out of time, old-fashioned and more than overpriced, chunky bracelets - just show off items. Just think about how many people, owning one of these diver watches, even can not swim properly.
Totally agree. The current and last generation upon review seems like it’s missing what made the Rolex submariner great. It’s quite anticlimatic when you wear it. I can see why the black bay 58 did so well, as it invoked a similar feeling to the Neo vintage submariners.

Ugly green box, cheaply stamped dial, crown on dial is stamped and not applied, too much text at 6o'clock, the crown and word Rolex is too close together, no display case back. Not worth the asking price. Prefer a Panera Submersible.

No
Still the most beautiful watch of all time in my opinion. Not as beautiful as a 1953 Submariner but good luck buying one of those.
Agree with you.
That would be my forever watch, I would need no other
124060 is a huge improvement
Why do you say that?

The newest Submariner is the 124060
Yes indeed thanks for the info
Timeless.
It’s a great watch, but far from the hardest sports model to get!

It's always a matter of taste, of course, but i think the watch is way too big for you. It looks a little cheesy. Nonetheless wear it in good health.
My 6 inch wrist size…
hi, did you need to adjust the bracelet at all for yout 6 inch wrist? thanks!
Yes, correct. Few links are to be removed.
Omega seaweed 300 coaxial for me, just decided after watchin this
Great choice! Thanks for watching and do subscribe for more content!
Ended up with the blue and gold 1 instead😁
My daily banger is a 300 2285 with electric blue dial
3:17 to 3:22. “Let’s talk about the watch, I’m gonna talk about the watch, let’s talk about the watch”
Sorry, what are we going to talk about ?
🤣
The watch, pay attention.
Too expensive. Most folks would think that it's a fake. The older case is better. Next question, please.

The 124060 is perfection, a one watch collection that properly harkens back to the OG
The dial is high gloss. The Seadweller is the one with the matte dial.
Thanks for pointing that out. 😀
Beautiful watch
I own 2 rolexes but my favorite diver its the seamaster mate beautiful watch looks great on you 💪
Good choice!
There is no hype behind the no date 114060 sub. It's everybodys standard watch in Germany.
Ooo you're in Malaysia yay!
Where? I'm in penang
Where did you buy this piece?
You can get it from pre-owned stores, they are quite readily available and easy to find, it’s just the pricing! 🫣
Brother, not micro adjust… it’s glide lock…

Lovely Manwell
The gap you have its not about the case, but the fact this watch is too big for you. On biggers wrists it hugs it nicely.

How is this the hardest one to get and not the Daytona?
Both are the most popular and hardest to get. It’s just hearsay though. 😀
Looks perfect on your 6 inch!
Surprisingly it still wears pretty well for smaller wrist sizes like mine which is why the Rolex sub is such a popular unisex model.
The lug to lug is over your wrist

There are so many watches now that perform better and cheaper than a Rolex submariner. And yet we all still want one…
