fantastic tut again. getting back into RS after a long hiatus. loving the new standard surface stuff and this has been a great channel to learn from.
great pace and packed full of info in such a succinct form.

A huge plus for me was trying Maxon Noise into Change Range into Thin Film Thickness to break up the colors a bit.

I have version 3.5.03 in S24 but I dont have the thin film menu. I wonder if I have to be using R25?

Are you sure that you are using "standart material" ? Not old "material"

thanks for your tutorial, have question about volume builder and volume mesher, What is it used for here?

  • @Ricardo-de9ju

Well, works for organic shapes but not for flat planes. Thin Film effect doesn't react based on incidence surface angle, it propagates over the reflection. Cinema 4D has the proper shader for that which works fine but no perfect.

Have you updated to the latest version of Redshift? Then make sure you create a Redshift ‘Standard Material’ :)
