Ah yes the original 80's Matthew Joseph Peak poster for the steelbook cover! This is the first time in the UK we get to have this cover on a home video release. It is a shame Graham Humphreys did not get his artwork included and big shame the US did not get this locally for the 40th anniversary.
If you count Wes Craven as Fred the Janitor in the Scream '96, wearing the Freddy Sweater with the Red Sleeves 😁
The limited collectors edition UK steelbook version just seems like the best necessary way in purchasing A Nightmare On Elm Street on 4K I ordered mines today off Amazon and expected to get it between Thursday or Tuesday ... Can't wait!
It is a great set. I loved it. Got mine Friday. Only thing is Walmart & Amazon is price-gouging. Walmart jumped their price up to $99.99. Amazon actually lowered to $81.26. But still WAY overpriced!
The only collector card that would make it complete if they had Rod too. I am expecting my copy of this tomorrow. Can't wait!!
The box itself is kinda ugly BUT even if it wasn't, its still $65+ just to get og artwork inside the case? Fellas just get the nice standard 4K with the artwork from the dvd's back in the 2000's on the slipcover for like $20-$25. We gotta know what the limit is as a consumer. What are we gonna do when this series gets a bigger or more exclusive "complete boxset" or if they release it in regular steelbook here in 6 months WITH the og artwork for like $30 max?
I live in the UK and bought this collectors edition. Even living here sometimes I’m surprised we get better editions than you guys. Historically it was the opposite way around. I wonder if UK/Europe is seen to have not embraced digital media as much as USA and thats why more effort put in for our territories? Just a wild guess.

What number did you get out of 27,000 and change? The box looks like an old Vhs plastic protective case from the early 80s they use to have to protect the vhs tapes and they were all black with the companies logo on them....
WB International keeps blowing the USA office out of the water with collector’s editions for their movies. The Exorcist was the same way.
I’m just going to wait for the box set. We all know it’s coming, so why double & triple dip? Waist of money.
I like the VHS style it would have been sick to have the UK blue and orange poster art on the box instead of what was used! But hey at least it’s better then that shocking slip cover 💀.
The steelbook in this set is the best release of the movie by far, its specifically why i got this set, its got the OG Artwork, the back with Freddy coming through the wall looks amazing, love the artwork inside it as well with that shot of Freddy when Nancy first sees him. All the artwork on the steelbook is from the first movie, no images of Freddy from part 3 or 4 anywhere on it, its gorgeous. The other standalone steelbook has that custom artwork, and the regular 4K has got that recycled dvd artwork thats not Freddy from the first movie, so this set without a doubt is the one to get.
What really would have made this set great is if the outer box was the US poster that's on the steelbook, and the steelbook had the original UK poster, or vice versa. Those are two great pieces of artwork that would have been the ideal combination.
I am surprised the opposite side of the poster wasn't the UK poster!

That is gorgeous. I didn’t understand that it had a steelbook with OG art on the inside. I thought the scratches was the actual steelbook cover art, not the box that contains it. Just a beautiful release
In Italy (in Amazon Italy as well) they sell this same steelbook individually at 30 euros. This boxset is uk and some parts of Europe but this steelbook alone only in Italy.
I ordered it cause although I like this boxset, still it’s really a lot of price for a small photo book, cards , archival extra features and mini double sided poster especially since I’m going to buy posters for all parts to hang and I don’t believe Warner will take the effort further in releasing all parts in the same style boxset or maybe some parts only.
It’s still a cool boxset and I would have not cancelled my preorder of it if it was the only way of getting this amazing steelbook but the same steelbook has an individual release in Italy so I went for that just a few days ago and cancelled my preorder of this boxset.
Now if it was arrow style booklet with written information and essays and new features I would have definitely gotten the boxset.
Plus I hate the laziness of not having the Blu-ray with a new 4k scan since they already remastered it and instead went ahead with the same old tired transfer of the previous Blu-ray like every big studio does. That’s why I wished scream factory or arrow or second sight would take on the job of putting out a 40th anniversary of this great film as they would have 100% given it the full much deserved true 40th anniversary treatment.
The front cover artwork is perfect. But I wish the back was different 😕
I haven’t checked the scan but the blu ray is region free.

I wanted that set but after seeing this video glad I didn't waste the money cards and a book that just felt meh. Hope a set comes someday but that's up to WB and The Cravens
I put my certificate in the steelbook, I got 1834/27,800.
edit: over here in the UK we have HMV which is dedicated to physical media as well as merch such as posters, shirts, mugs etc. I read an article a few months ago of HMV sales slowly going up too which is good, the stores have also reopened in Canada.
They shit the bed so much on this release’s artwork that I could not justify the cost for that set, I’m just glad the regular steelbook is only $25, because I am not dishing out any more than that for their cut and paste release for one of the best horror movies of all time

I adore WB as a DC fan and because, it so happens, they also own plenty of IPs I do like. That being said, they should have released the movie with the New Line Cinema logo either first/bigger or equal size as the WB logo. After all, they just bought the company.

the front of the hard shell box looks awful the back looks good the front of the steel book looks good the back looks god awful this could have been so much better with a little more care and attention : )

How many versions of a movie do you actually need? You're being milked by the disease of runaway consumerism. Another box, pictures, stickers....sad.
