You are so ingenious Will, love listening to your thoughts on problem solving! Carter and Lottie are so adorable, very special for them to have their Grandad near by to spoil them 😊
It's good to see other boaters solving problems and making do. It makes it feel less miserable when things go wrong and need sorting out. Life seems to be one long string of jobs that need doing... Or paying for 😧
Nothing like a nice bit of splicing and dicing to get the heart going in the morning 😂 at least you’ve had the good weather for it , tip old timber yards , the have off cuts of hard wood you can get for cheap or sometimes free,👍🇬🇧👍🇬🇧👍
So enjoyable watching try and repair your woodwork. You’re very resourceful Will, yore get it sorted. Try treating your canvas with wet n forget, it kill the mould. 👍👍
@@NarrowboatWill Yes I use it on my boat several times a year. It helps me with the cleaning and maintenance 😂 The Wet & Forget Mould, Lichen & Algae Remover is the perfect black mould and algae remover. It removes contaminants such as mould, lichen, and algae without using harsh methods. It is suitable for cleaning a variety of outdoor surfaces such as tiles, paving, patio, brick, tarmac, cladding, wood and even artificial grass! Outdoor Wet and Forget is the best patio cleaner as it requires no scrubbing, simply wet and leave as the cleaning solution does the work for you! 👍👍
Hi Will. Good to see people trying to help people.👍👍. More people ahould try ir. I enjoyed the DIY aspects, the rebuild of the cratch from whatevers available. Fantastic weather too, well it was then if not now.😂😂👍👍. Paul
Hi. Just whatching you pondering over the cratch frame. The words of captain Kirk came to mind - "just do it" and hay presto you did! Just as we knew you would. Great job. Thanks for the vlog.
Bless you for helping out the biker, Definitely when you pop to B&Q or wood yard check out their offcuts box to see if you can pick up some decent bits of wood Or when you pass a marina next check out their bin stores to see if anyone had left any good bits of wood there too. I can see that you will end up building a new one from scratch so it’s nice, sturdy and strong 😉😄🤗
I always have a mooch around bins and carboots. It's pretty remote around the basin. The nearest place is Morcombe or Lancaster. Thanks for stopping by. 👍
Such kindness Will 😊 hope you are ok, we have been with Mrs Pirate again today and Bonnie, she paid a visit onto our boat, we are hoping to pay you a visit in the car in the next couple of weeks so just give us a ruff clue of the area you are still in!! Mrs Pirate said you would love it, much love, Kay, Dave and Bubba x😊
I'm with Shui travelling up and back down again. I'm near the end, and then I'm heading back. I'm usually in the middle of nowhere if possible. You'll always find me away from the crowds. I'm working next week on some perkins diesels. Hopefully I will see you soon. Tell Mrs pirate I'm going to pop over to visit her in the next few weeks because I'm working that way. Perhaps we can all meet up?
Ah sweet lovely to see family for you... Ok 👍 so no carpenter but uour ideas are good. I'm presuming you eventually gave in and went to bnq? My dad could bodge that 😅 Well I hope the cover still fits when you've refurbished the wood sections. Lovely weather back then in June but which year lmho 😊😊😊😅 Thanks great video Kev the brinklow kayaker
Oh my memory lane, I had loads of Suzuki trail bikes when I was a kid they were perfect transport in the Cotswolds in the 70's. Then the flash back was completed with a view of the points I was always making sure they were OK, it was one of the first things my Dad showed me how to adjust as he insisted I do all the maintenance on the bikes.
Hey Will, so did you make it out of the basin? The app that I have is showing that the Glasson flight is currently closed due to low water levels. Thanks for another one mate! Take care. 👍👍
Will you are a legend mate . helping this fella getting his bike home 👍👍👍👍 As a biker for many years there is nothing worse than braking down without any mans to get it back home. I have seen bikes striped when they were left at the side of the road by people after they had broken down... I noticed that you attempted to find the fault for him.. sadly when people mess with the wiring . You can spend days trying to find the fault. The very same thing can be said about cars and any other vehicles.. My pet hate was always trying to find a electrical problem on a boat were people have added something to the electrical system without having a clue about what they are doing.??? The most dangerous electrical fault I ever came across was a power supply that was actually burning behind the ceiling boards...you could actually see the smoke escaping from around the ceiling...all the owner said that he could smell something burning..????. He hadn't even turned off the power supply on the boat.??? And they sit and wonder why this has happened... Anyway Wii as always you have produced another brilliant video .. Keep your self safe and well mate. filthy thumbs up 👍👍👍👍.
Hello Wayne. Sounds like you enjoy tinkering as well. I've got to go back and fire up those perkins engines again after the owner sunk it... That should be interesting. Take care buddy. 👍
Will mate my entire working life has been working on engines and transmission . Mostly in boat yards.across the canal system of the UK. It always gave me grate satisfaction to get a boat or vehicle up and running again. To be honest if I had my life all over again I would still be doing what I have in this life.. I have a feeling that when you get something up and running again. It gives you grate satisfaction for being able to achieve it..??? Will I have forgotten how many times I have helped people out with a problem they had with Thier boats .and would not take any payment for doing so. After all I know exactly how people struggle to make ends meet. On their boats.
Have you considered getting a UPVC window made for it Will? My brother-in-law can make any shape in aluminium in his factory but they are really expensive. You could even get openers fitted. It surprises me what you'll take on living on a narrowboat.
I would love that but like you say it's expensive. I was hoping to spend nothing but ended up spending a fortune. Something like over a fiver. I was gutted. 😂 🤣
@@NarrowboatWill If you want, you can put the measurements on here Will (Top length, Bottom & height plus the depth you need). I'll have a word with the brother in law next time I see him, & see if he can do something. His stuff is posh & he's been on TV programs with his work. (Location, location, etc.)

Put some new wood in if you can Will, save you in the long run, especially all the rain we get!👍👍
That makes sense. I was hoping to fix it with what I've got laying around. Let's see how it turns out. 😏
