Puddy, Elaine's boyfriend, is the germophobe one: he states that Elaine is filthy but he got over it because of "Germophobes Anonymous" to her co-worker that also thinks Elaine is dirty.

The references in Seinfeld to classic movies like *_Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo_* & *_Plan 9 from Outer Space_* or the playwright Neil Simon or characters like Bif Lowman from *_Death of a Salesman_* to me showed the high caliber of the writers. Most people miss that stuff, but those little details are what helped make the show so great to me.
I can’t imagine anyone else uttering that line and getting a laugh. When certain lines could only possibly be uttered by one character, it’s good writing.

I was at the filming of this episode, the highlight for me was before the filming, seeing Jerry through the window of his office eating a sandwich looking at the scrip.
true NY story - while my girlfiend (now my wife of 33 years) was out, I was home with our new puppy. The apartment was on the 5th floor of a 5 story walk-up. Anyway, I had just gotten up and opened the apartment door to get my newspaper ( was in my underwear) and the door closed behind me - locked, and I had no keys. What to do? I walked down a flight of stairs and knocked on the door of the apt directly below mine. The woman - who I had never met - came to to the door and looking a bit shocked, listened to my story and let me in so that I could go out her window and climb the fire escape. Luckily the window was unlocked and so I was able to open the window and crawl inside - but not before I scared the hell out of my puppy, who proceeded to piss all over the floor - never told my girlfiend, but the downstairs neighbor did. My now wife laughed like hell at that moment in our lives together - still does.
I love how Jerry wakes up in the middle of the night and the first thing he is thinking is "What's the deal with sleep? Why am i so thirsty?"
