My wife was scrolling through her feed last night and I heard the first few bars and I asked her “who is that?” She didn’t know but she said it’s SLIP KNOT. I knew it wasn’t Joey and not Jay. As a drummer myself I’ve never seen or heard anyone play the way you do. I listened to the audio of this clip for about 90 minutes driving to a job. You’re AMAZING and I think the new guard of metal drumming for your generation. I would put you up against anyone and I’m a TOOL guy myself. Fucking awesome, thanks for making me a NEW FAN. There were multiple parts of this where I just laughed out loud because of how insane the mix of technique and technicality is. An entirely different level of skill - so fun to watch
That’s why Eloy is in that seat. Jay couldn’t even come within inches of this playing. Joey wrote some crazy shit, and Eloy is executing it better than Joey could have ever done himself.
Firstly, Joey used triggers. Eloy doesn't. Secondly Eloy grooves even with this music. There's nothing mechanical about it. Sorry but they're worlds apart in terms of skill.

I'm 34 and was slipknot kid in school in 99 on through my graduation year and other metal but slipknot is home for me ...I'm glad I got to live in the slipknot era of time ...even if it's 200 times more advanced a 100 years from now ...I'm in the era I should be in with that band 😂😂😂😂 like how we look back a ppl who got to run with zeppelin back in the day ...ppl will talk about slipknot for many years to come 🤘
The band will live on till either Corey or Clown retire and that’s mostly on Clown as this is his baby after all. Even more so than it was for Joey’s and Paul who even did co create this thing as well. I get it but also let’s stop with this lol.

Its amazing to him play, especially the Joey (rip) era… his timing has this nanosecond on the beat that you just feel…. Very hard to explain but its freaking explosive. His roots and culture have cultivated an incredibly unigue talent.

I'm agree this is good line of compliment, but i think it's more suitable for drummers that can play polyrythm like Matt Garstka, Danny Carey, or Mike Mangini. Not saying eloy is not great but that "separate brains for every organ" line is very tickling me..

do you guys realize all of this audio came from 1 microphone? the EAD10 just mounts onto the top of the bass drum rim, and it's catching every little detail of his playing so well. that is outstanding
Eloy puts everything he has into the singular performance of every song he plays! The last few seconds where he is trying to gather himself together after spending himself during the performance. One would think that his playing has opened up creative avenues that Jay could not. No disrespect to Jay but Eloy’s skill set is like if the Olympics had drumming as a sport and this guy is a gold medalist for past 20 years of the event! I think it allowed the band to tap into material that they had considered limited by Joey’s departure and tragic death. Eloy channels Joey in near perfect form and therefore he afforded the band an opportunity to explore that material without any limiting factors on the part of the drummer! I have loved Eloy’s drumming for quite a while and look forward to seeing how they continue to outdo themselves after over 20 years in!!
His percussion is impressive, he must be part of the composition of slipknot's music, they are very lucky to have him. Even overqualified for the band.

You're so musical, I think that groovyness and musicallity is what makes you stand out. With the ghost notes and trickyness. So many ''fast solo drums'' feel so soulless and random. Everything you play makes me imediatelly feel like rocking back and forht on my chair and at least bob my head if not straight up headbang.

do you guys realize all of this audio came from 1 microphone? the EAD10 just mounts onto the top of the bass drum rim, and it's catching every little detail of his playing so well. that is outstanding

Eloy puts everything he has into the singular performance of every song he plays! The last few seconds where he is trying to gather himself together after spending himself during the performance.
One would think that his playing has opened up creative avenues that Jay could not. No disrespect to Jay but Eloy’s skill set is like if the Olympics had drumming as a sport and this guy is a gold medalist for past 20 years of the event! I think it allowed the band to tap into material that they had considered limited by Joey’s departure and tragic death. Eloy channels Joey in near perfect form and therefore he afforded the band an opportunity to explore that material without any limiting factors on the part of the drummer! I have loved Eloy’s drumming for quite a while and look forward to seeing how they continue to outdo themselves after over 20 years in!!

It's Mansfield, so probably not. Would have been there but we were away on vacation. That venue never sounds great...very few seats get good audio.
You're so musical, I think that groovyness and musicallity is what makes you stand out. With the ghost notes and trickyness. So many ''fast solo drums'' feel so soulless and random. Everything you play makes me imediatelly feel like rocking back and forht on my chair and at least bob my head if not straight up headbang.
