Confidence and Fit
Alpha straddles the line. He's seen it work terribly as well as wonderfully. But if you're comfortable and confident, you can pull off just about anything. If you own it, that's what it boils down to. It also boils down to FIT!
To Break Apart or Not Break Apart
1. Depends on the fabric - if the suit has a shiny and single color fabric, it looks like more like a suit. If worn as a sports coat, it's too shiny and dressy. It looks like a suit jacket. If it has metal buttons, it's a blazer. Alpha demonstrates.
2. Lapel - you don't see too many peak lapel sport coats.
Dry Clean Both Pieces
Alpha discusses how he wears the pants that come with the suit as slacks. If you break apart the suit, make sure you take both to the dry cleaner, however, even if they both aren't dirty. The dry cleaning process changes the consistency of the fabric.

I kinda like how Aaron looks in this one (I'm not talking about the style combos he is showing off) just his clothing choices in this video in general. The glasses & the button downs pattern just mix beautifully. I think it fits Aaron a bit more than his usual look.
Should do a video about suit jacket pocket, like styles of hankies and what to have displayed from the pocket to make it look good. Unless you already have something like that?

Have been using a small lapel suit jacket (black) with my really cool Levi's Jeans and an even more nice pair of cognac coloured shoes for years now. I feel extremely comfortable in this and it looks fantastic; especially with a nice fragrance like Armani Code or YSL La Nuit de l'Lomme :-) There is no simple rule to this old question, as Aaron said: if you feel comfortable and own it, you can wear it. You just have to find your personal Alpha Style first... Trial and error a few times is almost unavoidable ;-)

Lol I thought it said "How to break up with your suit" for a second. I do this all the time though, mostly wearing the suit jacket as a sport coat. I often wear my Navy blue one as a blazer. Never done just slacks, but that's because I don't wear slacks unless part of a suit.

Most suit jackets look quite good with a solid color, in my case that means black, slim jeans. I do that trick to have some extra run from jackets with worn out suit trousers.
If you want a look with a stone washed blue jeans? Hmm, yeah good luck.

I would love to see a video with ideas on how to combine/use "weird" or stronger colors than black/gray/jeans...i tend to like buying more colorful stuff and I dont want to look like a clown. I know simple is good...i own some oragne, green and blue sportcoats, red chinos, etc..you get the idea.

I had a black suit. I had not worn it for years. Then, I decided to up my game and wanted to add a jacket in mywardrobe. (I have a navy blue corduroy blazer and a powder blue casual blazer.) The trousers is missing though. Is that black suit jacket lost forever because I can't use it as a sports coat?
Or can I replace the buttons with blazer buttons as advised in another RUclips video I saw?

Totally unrelated, but...
I have a problem. The collar on one of my shirts is always laying down. Doesn't matter if I wear a jacket (like for a example a suit jacket with jeans), magnetic collar stays, or no collar stays at all (to make it lighter). I know you've done a video about it, but my collar is already pretty tall. I don't think the fabric is really that soft. And the collar? Super stiff. Even without the collar stays.

Hey Aaron, I'm local here in Atlanta, and I was wondering if you have any suggestions on where to get a good custom suit here or in the burbs. I'm 5'5 and have broad shoulders, so off the rack just doesn't look good on me. Any suggestions on where to get something custom would be awesome!

Hey alpha I'm 5'6 and weight 145lbs i have problems finding a blazer the 38r slim fit it looks nice but I can't even put my arm up because the the sleeves look so short and the 40R slim is too loose
Omar Zepeda if you're 5'6, then your coat size should be shorts, not regulars.

So far I'm only buying from Nordstrom as they have a great return policy that if I don't like the item I can return it. This does however waste time having to go to the store to return and order another size and possibly having to try again.

I have a question that is slightly off topic from this video. In the video you talked about taking the jacket and pants to the dry cleaner at the same time so that they won't wear down separately. I have a "3 piece suit" (I got the jacket and pants, like, 5 months before getting the vest and the vest isn't even the same brand as the suit, but it works nicely). I will wear the suit semi-frequently but wear the vest not so frequently. Should I be taking the vest into the dry cleaner when I take my suit in? Thanks.
