What my coach did for my pec strain.. I was benching 3x a week before the injury, after the injury.. still 3x. But, big variations. I would do floor press, spoto press, CG bench for one block, light volume. Next block, up the volume. Next block, replace Spoto with Comp, but lower volume. Following block, Replace floor press with a 1-board. Currently I'm doing CG bench 5x5, 1block comp 3x8, Comp bench 1x1,1x5,3x6. Where as block one I did CG bench 1x5, 2x6. Floor press, 1x6, 2x7, and Spoto press 1x4, 3x5. I hope y'all get the idea.. Don't let pain scare you. Be smart about it. I feel better now, just need to up the strength now!
I tweaked my Achilles playing basketball yesterday. I can still run and jump fine but Kind of scared cuz there’s some tension there but im gonna try to train ball again in a few days
That’s an injury you gotta watch for sure, if you tear that you’ll never be the same again athletically. Happens to pro players all the time. They lose a step after that injury
I strongly disagree with what he said, it depends on the severity of the injury a small tearing sensation vs a snapped severe injury should be handled differently.
I mean obviously different injuries will be handled depending on the severity of the issue. The context in this methodology is the level of his injured pec muscle which in this case may not be as severe as a snapped disconnected tissue
@@baileyrobertson7218 that's where I disagree, I think rest is better than moving as soon as possible, I've weight trained and done Jiu-jitsu for a long time people who do not rest always have a nagging pain later in life because they continued during the injury and the never fully healed normally.
@@Zhcwu I can see where you are coming from. But movement and loading will be relative to the injury (already mentioned) but also the movement itself is relative to the absolute/relative strength of the person. A jiu jitsu injury can be very serious, and the movement best for it, and research backs this, is either active/passive range of motion with minimal load into graded exposure of weights. Getting back into Jiu Jitsu wouldn't be ideal til they've cleared those. So i definitely see what you mean
Thanks for having me on!
This has been the collab i've been looking for in so many ways. A fellow aussie on barbell brigade, but even just YOU and BART too!

Any tips for shoulder pain/impingement?

I tore my pec recently too, lol. This video is perfect for me.
PRP help Eugene a good amount. He received treatment relatively soon after, hopefully, you have too.
Damn would of been nice to see John meadows, Eugene and the barbell brigade crew together.

no matter what the injury is you want to get moving as soon as possible, so what he said is completely correct
