Would you put yourself in the beginner, intermediate or advanced category? According to my community poll from yesterday, 37% are self-reported beginners, 56% are intermediates and 7% are advanced. I expected the advanced category to be a bit higher but overall, those numbers check out with my expectations! I am definitely going to get to work on more beginner and intermediate-friendly content for the channel based on the feedback though! Hope you guys enjoy the video and shoutout to PictureFit for his help!! Peace!

I’ve been training for 6 months and I’m constantly redefining what training to failure is for me. It’s partly because failure felt so much different on that first day I set in the gym because my limits were so low, but also because slowly pushing myself more and more to get past what I thought was “unbearable” is redefining what my limits actually are

Going to failure has a degree of risk associated with it, as athletes/lifters can potentially put themselves in dangerous situations if not prepared to have a spotter save them. How often do you believe someone ought to complete a compound lift - squat or deadlift - until failure?

This has got to be one of my favorite videos ever. I absolutely love picturefit and have followed him for years so it was amazing to see you guys collab and I hope you collab again in the future! I’ve struggled to find information in the past on the proper way to progressively overload. Everyone talks about progressive overload but it’s surprising how few people go into detail on how to progress. The system you laid out where you adjust your reps or sets on a weekly basis rather than just trying to hit a fixed amount of reps week by week was very helpful. I’ve always just aimed for, for example, 3 sets of 8 and do that week by week until I hit 3 sets of 8 at which point I move to a higher weight. But rather than adding weight, either adjusting the reps by shooting for 3 sets of 10 the next week or adjusting the sets by adding a fourth set of 8 instead of increasing weight might be just the thing I need to progress more consistently and avoid plateaus. Thank you Jeff and picturefit this was an awesome video.

You guys are literally GODS, I'm a noobie, can barely deadlift 120 pounds and let me tell you, it is so embarassing seeing that weight and thinking "I'm not making any progress" but then you guys hit it with the "1-5 years until intermediate" and it expands my viewpoint. A few months ago, I couldn't do 5 reps with the bar without getting out of breath, this takes time, but it happens

@@aliharajli4832 It isnt the easiest thing to do but in a way, the less you care about the weight on the scale, how much you lift, your physique the more you progress in each category. When you do everything right but stop obsessing over the results then in no time 4 months go by and youre like "damn im 5 pounds heavier and put 25ibs on my bench."

Another guy Quinton Eriya. The physiques from the naturals on this platform like Jeff, Natural Hypertrophy, Omarisuf, Alpha Destiny is all obtainable for people with just average genetics. The main difference between ppl on gear and naturals is just that most naturals need to stay at a higher body fat to be big. All these guys tend to stay at 17% body fat or higher. Will Tennyson and Bald Omni Man I’d say are the type where you need to have above average genetics. They have decent size while being in the 12% body fat range. You just need to be consistent, i think people overexaggerate how hard it is to hit advance level because nobody puts the time required on it. If you train hard for ten years, without doing nothing out of the norm, and consistenly progressive overload, it's impossible for anyone to not be advanced. Check out Natural Hipertrophy, Bald Omni-Man, Geoffrey Verity Scofield or AlphaDestiny for awesome tips and information in whatever area (the first two are more for bodybuilding, while the latter focuse in both size and strength).

I understand this from a scientific stand point. But I’ve got friends who’ve started callisthenics since they’re 13 and kept being ripped despite never being on a diet plan and eating Mc.Donalds left and right. Some Olympic weightlifters also say they eat absolutely everything (no fried food tho) and still managed to be as fit as they are. So I’m thinking maybe consistent training over a very long time might’ve reduced significance of a diet?

In the 9 months that i've been playing with iron; performing full body workouts for approximately 2-4hours each training session, i've gained 43 pounds of lean muscle mass coming in at 6'1 and 193 pounds, I am astonished by my progress , and i'm excited too see where ill be in another year.

Hey Jeff, what can i do with my uneven hips?
Its not posterior or interior tilt. Its that my left hip is infront of the right one. Imagine that you want to take step with your left leg, so your hip is naturally moved forward. Thats my neutral stance.
Sorry for my english, i am not a native.

It sounds like a leg length discrepancy. Meaning one leg is longer than the other. You can get an orthosis put into your shoe of your shortest leg, if that’s that case, or have buy shoes that will raise the shorter leg to the correct height and it will make that short leg even. Sometimes people get surgery if it’s a big difference, which is a pretty painful surgery and with a pretty long recovery I believe. I do physical therapy but I’m not the best person to ask. You should get see a physical therapist for an examination though. Or some other medical professional.

jeff isn't a doctor, but what you have is pelvic rotation i believe. i found this video to help: ruclips.net/video/7DCjVRnO-AA/видео.html and this video ruclips.net/video/fHfNyFyEWD8/видео.html and this video ruclips.net/video/5DTwZztVnoY/видео.html
Most likely you will have to improve posture while sitting and standing, and then exercises to address this pattern and what imbalances you have, there are probably some muscle weaknesses and other muscles overcompensating for that weakness. You should do these exercises pretty frequently throughout the week. You may also have some type of scoliosis which has more to do with your spine, but I recommend going to a doctor if you can.

Love your content but one thing always bugs me on these types of videos. Linear progression does not last 1-2 years (the beginner stage) for most people. Take overhead press for example. Add 5 pounds to the bar once a week, it would only take 10 weeks to get to 95, and another 8 weeks to get to 135 from an empty bar. If they did.5 pounds every week, they would be OHPing 305 lbs by the end of the year.
The same is true for all the lifts. While SOME people might be able to do that with squat apparently, I don't think it is common. We should stress that the LP phase really only lasts a little while, not the "beginner phase which lasts 1-2 years". I know personally there is no way my linear phase is from bar to 305lbs in any of my workouts besides deadlift.

Does anyone know how @Jeff Nippard is allowed to use published studies in his video? Is this fair use? Is he paying for permission? Would love to know as I wish to do the same.

I don't think you have to pay to reference published studies, think of like scientific journalism, studies citing each other etc
