    Hey man i just wanted to say thanks. First for posting these past 2 videos about your back pain. And second, for responding to me a little while ago just saying a few words that gave me some hope for my back injury. I have been dealing with this injury for about a year and a half and just now i think the general trend of my recovery is becoming positive. Your response to me really helped give me a moral boost when i was very low and doubtful. At that point i had tried so many different things, with deliberate and focused everyday effort. Then you posted the video about your back injury and it gave me some new ideas and people to look into. Just wanted to let you know that you really are helping people.

    Mr. Candito, completely off topic but is your dad still lifting with the goal of increasing his lifts. I myself am closing in on 60, discovered power lifting type training about 5 years ago, not much of a training history before that. Maybe because I started so late and am not beat up from years of lifting, I am lucky enough to still be increasing my lifts and not fighting just to maintain them.Related with your father on so many little things when I came across old vids of the two of you benching. I must admit that I was nervous like your dad to push the limit but after a couple of minor injuries I have become better at reading my body and understand the importance of secondary lifts, like face pulls for shoulders. Any how would love to hear what kind of program he runs or one that he would recommend .

    Shoulder pain here :( i work as a CNA so i guess my zero-progression activity is just being able to do those 12hr shifts. It actually stresses out my shoulders more than heavy squats or deads with awkward movememts like rolling or catching pts. You're truly an inspiration man, thank you!

    The ways I have been treating my back pain has been doing alot of isometrics involving the core and stretching all the areas I've been really tight. I have been ignoring stretches for a long time...I'm really tight in my hip flexors and hamstrings. Since I've been stretching religiously every morning when I wake up and ever night before bed. I found a obvious improvement in my range of motion and decrease pain in my lower back.

    Hey Johnny,
    thanks for all the Energy you're putting in!
    Just followed your 6 Week Strength Programm an made a huge steps forward.
    But: I suffer from scoliosis or Morbus Scheuermann since I'm 14 years old. Now with 28, im at a point where my deadlift stagnated and everytime I'm doing some pulls i tend to bend over and get a very rounded back.
    Tried to do face pulls, but im not sure how do i activated the muscles of my thoracic spine to stand up straigth.
    I even have to remind myself to sit straigth in the office, on the couch etc.
    Maybe you have some tips after your back injury.
    Greetings from germany!

      @shafiq blake My thoracic back akes when I curl or lift anything while standing. I can only curl when Im sitting. I cant bench or squat heavy because my thoracic back hurts a lot. To the point that if I do bench heavy or squat heavy or etc at the next day I'll be so in much pain that I cant move properly. I can workout since I only pick light weights for 20 + reps. My main problem are my spinal erectors and a minor bulding disk on my thoracic spine. I kind know the problem but I dont know how to solve it. Im like this since 2015

    • @rickybp2259
      @rickybp2259 4 года назад

      @shafiq blake most probably due to lack of core spinability my vertebra had micro movements. 44 days since it started its 60% off working on core instability.. did an mri it came out normal but i saw your mri on group and idk how it looks on transverse section but on side section your mri looks well and healthy..

    Great video Jonnie. I'd say the oddest thing about my back pain was my sciatica. Because I used to have intense sciatica when going from sitting to standing and slowly over time it just went away....
    I didn't do anything special. Just trained as normal and now I pretty much never feel it. I guess some things just need time.

    • @azrafchowdhury1488
      @azrafchowdhury1488 6 лет назад +2

      Sciatica (if it truly is sciatica) is often caused by disk herniations, the jelly inside the disk seeps out and presses on the nerves that pass down to the legs which causes the shooting pain. In around 2/3 cases, the immune system is able to clear up the jelly over a few months and so they heal up on their own.

    • @azrafchowdhury1488

      Disc*

    • @Biglennyjunior
      @Biglennyjunior 6 лет назад

      Azraf Chowdhury Yeah I never got an MRI to confirm it but i pretty much knew it was a herniation due to all the ssymtoms.
      The thing about the sciatica that I thought was strange was that it onset at a point when I wasn't having any back pain and disappeared the same way. Just kind of randomly.

    • @pyroVoid
      @pyroVoid 6 лет назад

      soldatheero he probably doesn’t film belt-less warm ups

    • @soldatheero
      @soldatheero 6 лет назад

      So then you are suggesting all his working sets are with a belt then.

    • @pyroVoid
      @pyroVoid 6 лет назад

      soldatheero I’d assume so. If you’re lifting elite level numbers, it’s almost necessary

    • @soldatheero
      @soldatheero 6 лет назад

      I would say that is most true for PR's or very low rep sets like 1-3 but that is not necessarily true for just working sets of 5-12. Total strength is all relative to the athlete so that is irrelevant. I know many elite lifters that most often do not use a belt such as Jesse Norris and I believe that in the past Candito recommended to train without it most of the time. That is why I am asking just wondering it is a injury related choice.
