Hi everyone! If the Gingerbread house is still standing during episode 24 of our countdown to christmas, we promise we will smash it in front of the camera. But maybe it will collapse before that. Stay tune…
Gary's wife Sherrie repkying.....this episode is so festive and fun. The banter netween you two is too funny. We need this Christmas cheer, thanks for putting us in the mood. I am still guessing reindeer for the motif. Have a have a happy, healthy blessed Christmas!
Oh no! I hate to be the one to being this up,but the thumbnail picture of arne with his middle finger up holding the house is an offensive gesture in the US. If you can change it easily I would. (Dontknow why but I'm sorry for bringinv it up. )
Oh, this has to be my favorite episode of all time! I've never seen Arne so focused and giving commands like a general! Don't eat that! Put the glue here! Carlos? Carlos? Carlos? Dead Santas, and a wonky roof! Priceless video today! Laughing while I'm cleaning up my mascara!!!
My absolute favourite episode. I had to stop sewing and pay attention as soon as I heard giggling and two dead Santa’s 😂😂😂 I’m re-watching the entire episode now. Thank you both so much for the laughter and second day of advent joy. ❤🕯🕯
This has just become my favorite Arne and Carlos video. Christmas crap shack…the two dead Santas entombed on first floor…then the very end where Carlos mentioned the piñata.🤣 Thank you both for being so wonderful. I could not stop laughing.
“It’s not as great as I saw in my head.” Arne, that’s how I feel all the time! My eyes can see beautiful things, but I can’t get the result to go out of my hands.😂
How do we not hear Erik in the background shrieking with laughter? I think, of all the hundreds of videos I’ve watched, I love this one the most. It is so real. Planning and dreaming about something to have it turn into something else in reality. “Here. You can eat the veranda.” One year we made a gingerbread house with our mother, a vibrant, creative and very funny and gifted artist. We had some sort of sweet stuff we used as glue; it spilled out in a heap on top of the house and instantly hardened. It was like cement. “Ah well,” said my mother cheerfully, “It will be a birds’ nest.” I often think of that childhood gingerbread house, which had a birds nest - in the darkest, coldest part of the winter when most birds are south of the equator. My stomach muscles hurt from laughing. Both of you. What a great team.
I am going to make a gingerbread nightclub filled with candy for everyone to break open New Year’s Eve and call it the Arne and Carlos Club! This episode is priceless…anyone who has undertaken the building of a gingerbread house has probably done exactly what Arne did: big dreams that don’t quite translate into reality yet somehow come out surprisingly beautiful anyway!
Such a fun episode! A Christmas pinata! 🥰 I couldn't stop laughing after hearing Arne say 'Well why should you break it if there is nothing inside? DUH?...' Made my day thinking about the two dead Santas 🎅🎅❤
Hello Both! I loved your comment ‘room for a pony’, it sounded as though you’d been watching ‘Mrs. Bucket’ from ‘Keeping Up Appearances’! If it was coincidental, then I’d certainly recommend it! Super house!
"Don't eat the roof, you can eat the chimney" will be my keynote for the rest of the year or more. Thank you for this video, always love the porridge gate and Q&A video but this one is simply the best. Love you for make me smile ❤️❤️😍😍
I do not know why ANYONE would watch tiktok short videos when they can be amused and entertained for such a long time in a real video. This is delightful.
Oh my heavens! 😂 This is my new all time favorite funny video. This will now be my go to video when I need a mood-lifter. Carlos just sitting there with that look as Arne goes through a full cycle of emotions every few minutes. First he’s the best, then the worst then he needs to medicate with cookies then he’s the mom noticing that Carlos is eating all the sweets….repeat….hahaha. You two are the best! ❤❤❤🌟🎄💕
I always love watching you both but this might be my favorite episode. Absolutely brilliant! I laughed and watched it again and laughed some more. I cannot imagine Advent without Arne and Carlos!!! Thank you so much 😊
I love the stories Arne tells abt his mother and grandmother teaching him how to bake and/or knit, and his father and grandfather taught him carpentry. I can tell everyone is well loved ❤️
Less than 20 minutes in and Arne is beyond hope for his creation. As much as Carlos is OCD in the kitchen, Arne has reeled in his need for architectural perfection ... good job Arne! I just love you guys so much.
oh my heck!!!! funniest thing ever!!! I am laughing my head off... dead santa was the best LOL had hand surgery a few weeks ago, cant knit and you guys have been keeping me entertained. binge watching all the A & C! XOXOXO
Oh my goody goodness,....I loved this video. So much fun to watch. Please, please, please make a gingerbread build every year. Awesome!!!!! I enjoy seeing your creation in the corner of the screen during your "24 knitting tips of Christmas". It makes me smile everytime I catch a glimpse of it. I've never made one myself and I think I have the courage now to try after seeing what you have done. I realize it doesn't really matter if it's not perfect, it's more the fun in the creation of it.
Thank you for all smiles and laughter ! I dream of a sweater with this wonderful sentence Arne often says and we should all repeat : « I’m so good » Of course, we all are. Thanks for the inspiration and happy advent time.
I’m brand new to Arne & Carlos World and cannot begin to describe how much joy, laughter and fun there is watching this video! I’m a Christmas grinch but honestly, The Gingerbread Nightclub is delightfully entertaining and awesome 🎉
Two stories, an extension, and room for a pony, indeed! The best gingerbread house ever! The people shaped candies look like the kind we call gummies here in the United States.
Bravo, to your new tradition. I think your Gingerbread House turned out fabulous. Perfection is overrated, while uniqueness is always interesting and appealing. Thanks for sharing your creation. 😊❤️😊
LMASOROTF! Thank you guys. Wow one the best yet - a dead Santa pinata; sniffing glue; Carlos walking off and leaving Arne to hold up the house. Smashing a house is too violent for me 😂.
This was one of my favourites. The dead Santas had me (and my non-knitting husband who always “happens to be in the room” when I watch you) crying with laughter. Absolutely brilliant.
I think it's a wonderful house Arne, you shouldn't be so hard on yourself! Also, congratulations to Eric for being such a stoic and not falling about laughing throughout this episode! Well done everyone. XXX
snowman... we don't need a snowman... crunch! soooo funny. "crap-shack" dying right now!!! LMAO! btw- we live in the PNW, not a moose for many miles. but anytime one of our 3 large dogs barks at whatever or whoever is walking past our house, I call out "moose, moose". I have done it for so long, that they are now trained to stop the barking when they hear it. I think of the two of you every time. wish we were neighbors.
I hope you're planning to post some sort of time-lapse video of the gingerbread house, starting with all the pieces, the stages of its building, and then its agonizingly slow disintegration until it finally falls under the hammer. I only hope the two dead Santas make it through the mayhem. I agree with all the other hundreds of comments: this is my all-time favorite how-to video. (Also: The embroidery on the tray is Arne's interpretation of the ancient tale of the two handsome Scandinavian princes and their drama-filled quest for the perfect--or any--Christmas tree.)
I think this has to be your best ever video, so funny. I love seeing Arne in full creative flow and it brings out a side of you we don't often see on camera ARne, great to see you keeping Carlos in order. That gingerbread house is a work of art. At some points it reminded me of Castle Dracula, what with dead Santas, dead pigs and then all the dead reindeer in the top floor. I'm longing to see the finished house, just hope it didn't fall apart. xxx
Oh, I laughed so hard when watching this episode!!! Love the dead and mummified Santas. I truly enjoy watching all your episodes, thank you so much for sharing!!!!
Omg! I never laughed so hard as when Arnie called the house a “cr__p house”! And then again when the 2 of you weren’t sure if it was a Norwegian tradition! You are both so funny when you work on a project together! Just so you know, I think your gingerbread house is lovely! Love all your videos...I sometimes chuckle but often laugh right out loud! Thank you!
I love lighting the advent candles with you two. I have not laughed out loud at anything on the TV as much as I did during this episode. 😅 I was laughing with you not at you. It was like watching family. When I made a gingerbread house with my grandsons, one ate most of the candy reserved for decoration and the other one turned his building pieces into a car. Fantastic. Thanks for the experiences you share.
You are doing a great job and you are very funny, Carlos you are really helpful and very patient, Arne you are so worried about having a ginger bread house so perfect that you are stressing yourself but you are enjoying yourself. Thank you for sharing your joys and laughter
You Two are the best, I love this episode . I haven't laughed this much in a long time. The Ginger bread house is perfect ,because its made with love and laughter.
Oh my, this episode just made my day. It is 6am and I am having my morning coffee, smiling, bursting laughing.... This episode is so special on so many levels! Needless to say - Arne, your house is amazing! Looking forward to seeing it once finished. Thank you for sharing this moment with us! ❤ Have a wonderful Advent time!
Thank you for the recipe. I've been looking for a good gingerbread recipe for a long time. Black pepper is an important ingredient to me and yours has it. Great!!!!
This was great! I could continue watching you build gingerbread houses all day as I sit and crochet. This is definitely one to re- watch. I'm remembering a couple years ago when my family each made a house and put it to vote who made the best one. These are great Christmas memories. Thank you for sharing your time with us!
Great episode to celebrate the joy of the season. Since one of the candles is for hope, let’s hope your gingerbread house stays together through Advent! Love the 2 story design and looking forward to seeing the final decorated house!
This episode was priceless! The finished house is lovely - just like in fairytales, but getting there was so much fun! I love the way Arne is telling Carlos off for eating all the sweets, just like a naughty child.
It´s lovely how you make this gingerbread house! My Norwegian cousin made "Ishavskatedralen" (Tromsdalen kirke) as a gingerbread house some years ago, with a lot of icing on the outside. And for my friends, who are archaeologists, I made a gingerbread "tumulus", with a lot of "artefacts" in it (which they had to "excavate" very carefully).
Absolutely priceless episode!!! Best Gingerbread house of all time!!! The way you two work together and banter back and forth is such fun and totally entertaining! Thank you! Merry Christmas!❤️❤️🎄⛄️❄️🎅🏻🤶🏻
Too cute Arnie and Carlos. The creative juices were really flowing with much hilarity ensuing. The only thing missing is a Volkswagen Beetle in the driveway!!
Hilarious!!! Initially, I wanted to help you so badly with the icing tubes, but I quickly realized that this was going to be beyond entertaining. I couldn’t stop laughing. What’s crazy is that your gingerbread house is beautiful - well, sorta! Hahahaha. Thanks, you guys are a hoot. xo
I’ve always wanted to make a gingerbread house, but it was not part of my family’s tradition. You’ve inspired me to make one now on my own. Now I need to find a good architect like Arne. I LOVE this episode more than anything!
I so love making gingerbread houses. It is a tradition in our Norwegian family and I've been making them for nearly 69 years. They are so much fun. We eat them and share with the birds at Christmas.
So many gems! Arne: What are you doing? Carlos: I’m putting Smarties. Am I ruining your creation? Arne: I had a plan. I’m not sure I have a plan anymore. Carlos: I’m making it look like the entrance to a night club now. 😂
lol … I’m still laughing! The two of you are AWESOME!! Carlos, your door is fantastic and Arne, your design is brilliant! If we wait for perfection to come along, nothing in this world would ever get done. You’ve provided the two dead Santa’s with a great home (coffin?). We also got to see Arne the Building Site Boss at work … “Put a window on this!” “Don’t eat that!” Thanks guys! You’ve made my day! ❤️
Two dead Santas?! 😂 It looks great. You've inspired me to try this with my family when we get together for the holidays. I'll be bringing a (simple!) homemade gingerbread cookie kits along with premade frosting and plenty of candy-it'll be a competition! Thanks for the laughs and inspiration, as always!
Lots of funny moments in this one- including role reversal with Carlos eating most of the sweets and Arne telling him not to! I think the design is actually brilliant- love it and I think it came out pretty good. The perfect ones are less fun. Also want to share that I grew up baking with my mother, using a pastry cloth like the one you found. I made sure to take it to my home after cleaning out and selling my childhood home last summer.
Oh my goodness, this was the funniest video!! As an American I loved the gingerbread “crap shack!” I thought the house was glorious and the candy is an interesting idea. I’m afraid the chewy candies will be rock hard come Christmas, but the dead Santa’s and marzipan pigs should be good. I loved everything about this episode, it reminded of the shows where people attempt home improvement projects that never go as planned. However, the house was beautiful! Cannot wait to see it in all it’s decorated glory!!❤❤❤
😅😂🤣 I love you guys! This episode could not have been more funny if you had a script. Arne, your design is fantastic! It makes me think of Baba Yaga's house decorated for Christmas 😄
You guys made me laugh so much over dead Santa’s trapped in house, leaking roof ice cycles, crap shack, Eating the veranda, wanky roof, I had to stop knitting my Christmas ball due to continuous laughing!
Hi guys have now watched this 4 times! So much fun. Arne the brave and the bold doing this on camera. Made me cry laughing. As many have said, best episode ever. Thank you both for what you do.
You guys are just hilarious 😂 at some point I could not stop laughing anymore. Arne, I think you are one of the best pepperkakerhus architects in the world. It doesn‘t matter if it‘s beautiful or not, it‘s for sure the house with the most fun factor while being created: two dead santas in the first floor, Arne wanting Carlos to stop eating candy and pepperkaker (altough he is usually the one who is eating all the time in the kitchen episodes), very good or fy faen awful glue, creating new Norwegian Christmas traditions - maybe… Thank you so much for making me laugh so much😊 I would not have been able to film you guys, compliments to Erik and thanks for the head aka camera shaking 😂
I love this! Never heard of candy inside the house but think it's a great idea, although the smashing seems so sad....but can't wait to see you smash!!
My brother is an architect and a knitter working at doing the Norwegian purl by watching Arne.. maybe he could help you with remodeling this house when weather get warm. Happy knitting H H
Hi everyone! If the Gingerbread house is still standing during episode 24 of our countdown to christmas, we promise we will smash it in front of the camera. But maybe it will collapse before that. Stay tune…
This has to go down as one of the best episodes. You are making many of us feel so much better about our gingerbread house efforts
Gary's wife Sherrie repkying.....this episode is so festive and fun. The banter netween you two is too funny. We need this Christmas cheer, thanks for putting us in the mood. I am still guessing reindeer for the motif. Have a have a happy, healthy blessed Christmas!

I have no words ....I’m still laughing ❤😂🎉

I have no idea how Erik can film you guys without laughing! ❤❤
That’s why the camera jiggles so much lol
Oh, this has to be my favorite episode of all time! I've never seen Arne so focused and giving commands like a general! Don't eat that! Put the glue here! Carlos? Carlos? Carlos? Dead Santas, and a wonky roof! Priceless video today! Laughing while I'm cleaning up my mascara!!!
Make a window!, make a window!😆
Moose, moose. 🤣🤣🤣
This is great!
Give up on the mascara! It’s a lost cause with these two about!
My absolute favourite episode. I had to stop sewing and pay attention as soon as I heard giggling and two dead Santa’s 😂😂😂 I’m re-watching the entire episode now. Thank you both so much for the laughter and second day of advent joy. ❤🕯🕯
You two made my Sunday evening! How fun to watch you build a gingerbread house with an extension and room for a pony AND two dead Santa's...🤣🤣🤣
Tears running down my face!!!! Love watching you two.

What a fun and funny episode. I love seeing you try to work together on these projects. I'm glad the house did survive!
So are we!
Getting a second round of laughs and tears running down my face just reading all the comments! What joy you’ve inspired!
You two are always funniest in the kitchen!
Thank you Paula!
Such a fun episode! A Christmas pinata! 🥰 I couldn't stop laughing after hearing Arne say 'Well why should you break it if there is nothing inside? DUH?...' Made my day thinking about the two dead Santas 🎅🎅❤

oh my heck!!!! funniest thing ever!!! I am laughing my head off... dead santa was the best LOL

XOXOXO
Still laughing. My builder brother says feed the building inspector lots of candy first. Then we are sure it will pass. 🤣
I am laughing so much right now. I can't even imagine my husband and I making a gingerbread house together. Thank you!
You always make me laugh, but this was one of you best episodes. Love the reversal of kitchen roles, with Arne telling Carlos what to do.
Arne you had me at "crap shack" I just couldn't stop laughing, so much fun from you both :)
Say hi to your husband!
The perils of building! So funny, real and not over edited. Glad you found some ribbon and not elastic. Death by candy for poor old Santa!
I am so enjoying this! I can not believe the camera isn’t shaking with Eric laughing! Good Fun! It’s beautiful !team work will make it taste sooo good
I hope you're planning to post some sort of time-lapse video of the gingerbread house, starting with all the pieces, the stages of its building, and then its agonizingly slow disintegration until it finally falls under the hammer.

Oh, I laughed so hard when watching this episode!!! Love the dead and mummified Santas. I truly enjoy watching all your episodes, thank you so much for sharing!!!!
I love the ginger bread house. It is all about imagination and adaptation and fun. Everything can be covered with decoration. So perfect.
Greatest Gingerbread house construction ever! So. Much fun watching. Thank you you.
I was laughing with you not at you. It was like watching family. When I made a gingerbread house with my grandsons, one ate most of the candy reserved for decoration and the other one turned his building pieces into a car. Fantastic. Thanks for the experiences you share.
This episode is THE best. You two are playing like children, making it up as you go along. Christmas is best when it's not perfect!
Fabulous! Best giggle I have had in a long time...The Santa's will never survive in the "crap" shack 😂 It has such character!
This was so fun to see you construct an amazing two story gingerbread house!
The joy and laughter are infectious! Thank you!
Arnie, I love your house. I love the way it looks. You have inspired me. I going to have to make one wit my 18 grandchildren. I can just see us now😄🥰
Oh my, this episode just made my day.
You as well Petra!
I am applauding your beautiful standing gingerbread house, thank you for an enjoyable afternoon!
Great episode to celebrate the joy of the season. Since one of the candles is for hope, let’s hope your gingerbread house stays together through Advent! Love the 2 story design and looking forward to seeing the final decorated house!
Hilarious !!! An elastic band ?!?!?! Brilliant Arne !! Loved it . THANK YOU !!!
You should have a new contest: How many times did Arne say “I had a plan” in this video?
So fun to watch you two
This episode was priceless! The finished house is lovely - just like in fairytales, but getting there was so much fun! I love the way Arne is telling Carlos off for eating all the sweets, just like a naughty child.
I enjoyed this episode. Laughed so many times. ❤
This was one of my favorite episodes! Hoping this becomes an annual event!
This has made my day! It brought me to tears…..in a good way! The banter between you is priceless , thank you so much x
One more thing, it truly is a creative and beautiful gingerbread house. ❤❤❤❤❤
You guys! You are hysterically funny! Love Arne in his engineering master of the works role!
This was such a marvelous way for a Sunday morning. I laughed so hard I have tears running down my cheek. Love you guys.
Carlos ate his way though this build. The house is great. You are so good Arne.
And Freia has us all trained too. “Moose, moose”. Arne can be soooo bossy :). What a fun/funny episode!
There must be a story about the saying "moose, moose"!!! could you share the moose moose story, thank you.🌲❄
Hahaha Crap Shack, Dead Santa’s , Moose Moose eating the tip of the icing tube Carlos dropped on the floor, piñata, absolutely priceless❤❤
Hilarious!!! Initially, I wanted to help you so badly with the icing tubes, but I quickly realized that this was going to be beyond entertaining. I couldn’t stop laughing. What’s crazy is that your gingerbread house is beautiful - well, sorta! Hahahaha. Thanks, you guys are a hoot. xo
The Fall of the House of Usher in Norwegian style. Thank you for this pleasure.
I’ve always wanted to make a gingerbread house, but it was not part of my family’s tradition. You’ve inspired me to make one now on my own. Now I need to find a good architect like Arne. I LOVE this episode more than anything!
You should make one!
😂
The best Sunday entertainment. Love you guys
lol … I’m still laughing! ❤️
Oh what a grand Gingerbread House !!
Best Gingerbread House EVER!!!!!
It is very useful!
I think it looks pretty great. Never let perfect be the enemy of pretty good.
OMG, that was like watching Fawlty Towers-full of anxiety and humor!
Wow. A 2 story gingerbread house. Can’t wait to see you hammer it.
someone has been watching "Keeping up Appearances" with the "room for a pony" comment. ❣
I reckon that it’s the spontaneity that makes it! These two are the best solution to a low mood!
This was the funniest episode ever. I loved it, the way you two work together is priceless. Thank you for making my day!
You guys made me laugh so much over dead Santa’s trapped in house, leaking roof ice cycles, crap shack,
Eating the veranda, wanky roof, I had to stop knitting my
Christmas ball due to continuous laughing!
Priceless! 🤣🤣 And the house is standing!
My brother is an architect and a knitter working at doing the Norwegian purl by watching Arne.. maybe he could help you with remodeling this house when weather get warm. Happy knitting
