this video made me love husk (i didnt hate him before just didnt love him) if you watch husk he never grabs angel other then the one part he pulled angel out of the bar for his safety husk always reaches out waiting for angel to take his hand for someone like angel that HUGE
It’s crazy how smug Valentino was when Charlie got pissed considering how effortlessly she could actually wipe him out of existence.
He was smug because he knew Angel was going to stop her, it's a "your friend is my toy and he will be against you if i say so, you can't touch me while i have him as my meat shield" smile.
I guess we never see Val hurt a girl like Charlie or he just done that so Angel can stop her.
Yeah, if it weren't for Charlie's kindness that shitstain of an overlord would have been reduced to a chalk outline

Remember the line from 'Stayed Gone', where Alastor comments about how Vox 'would be nothing without the other Vees'? It's exactly the same with Valentino and Velvette. Alone, none of the three is a particular threat, but they've quite cleverly contrived to work together and dominate their various forms of media to get a more indirect control over other sinners. Alone, Valentino would have been a smear on the wall if Charlie had actually lost her temper, and he knows that. It's why he depended on Angel Dust as his personal meat shield.
People like Valentino are always weak, and always cowards. The power and control they claim over others is, at the end of the day... just another mask. Brilliant writing in this episode.
Valentino is an Overlord, also due to that contract he owns Angel's soul
he doesnt own his soul completely though. We see this later and can compare him to husk in how much their "owners'" can control them

The Vees in general are the youngest Overlords.(Valentino died in the `70s, Vox died in the `50s like Niffty who`s actually 22 despite looking like a child in her demon form, that`s presumably due to the repressive standards and pressures of her era on women to be ideal homemakers, wives and mothers drove her insane in Hell and affected her form, also she was germaphobic and hated bugs which carried over to her demon form swatting, torturing and killing bugs for fun and being extremely sadomasochistic when she herself resembles an impish ladybug)and it`s not confirmed when Velvette died but judging by her social media addiction and priding herself on being "up on the latest trends" it was probably fairly recently.
@@coisasm3029Alastor owns Husker’s soul completely, hence why he can summon him and order him around wherever and whenever. As we find out in episode 6, Valentino only owns Angel in the porn studio. This is why in episode 2, Valentino is upset that Angel moved. Angel used to live in the porn studio, so Val had complete control. Now that Angel is at the hotel, Val can only control him when Angel is working. This is why Val keeps Angel for ten plus hours at a time.
I adore the moment you catch where Angel is faking it to Husker, the title of this episode is Masquerade and youre watching the many changing faces of Angel this episode

Yes Valentino is an overlord of hell. He is one of the V's we got introduced to. They work together to maintain and grow their power. Vox is the overlord of TV, Velvit is the overlord of social media, and Valentino is the overlord of the porn industry. Together theyre The V's.

Yep, the V`s(Vox is from the 50`s like Niffty but unlike Alastor and Niffty is obsessed with keeping up with the times, Valentino`s from the 70`s and Velvette`s from the early-mid 2000`s which is why Vox is in charge of video broadcasting, Val`s in charge of porn and Velvette`s in charge of fashion and social media influence) are the youngest Overlords which is why they compete with their older counterparts whom they view as irrelevant and out of touch with modern trends, tech etc.
@@YoSunnyP Of course, the Overlords in general are basically the middle managers of Hell. The royal family(Lucifer, Lilith and Charlie), the Sins and the Ars Goetia all outrank them with basic Sinners and Imps being at the bottom of the hierarchy. All demons in Hell for the most part are the souls of mortal sinners from Earth (Even Lilith was originally Adam`s first wife before Eve who was turned into a demon in Hell as punishment for disobeying God and Adam and shacking up with Lucifer as well as helping him tempt Eve) with the exception of Lucifer, Vaggie, Satan and his wife Queen B and the Ars Goetia who are fallen angels. Heaven, likewise, has both Heavenborn and Humanborn Angels , the latter being referred to by their leader Adam as "Winners" as opposed to "Sinners". There are a few cases where "Winners" become "Sinners" but it`s extremely rare and has to have the approval of a Seraphim or other higher ranking angel to happen.All the Exorcists are made up of both "Winners" and Archangels like Michael, Gabriel and formerly Lucifer(He was also a cherub and promoted to a Seraph, the highest rank in Heaven just before the fall which adds to the tragedy of his story) . The Seraphim as I stated are the highest order of angels but are rarely seen by mortal eyes as they and the second highest rank Cherubim are charged with guarding the throne of God, covering themselves in humility to the Almighty and singing his praises day and night.(Jeez, how depressing, humiliating and tiring that must be, no wonder Luci rebelled, am I right?)Then you have the Powers, Michael`s army who help the Archangels and Exorcists with Exterminations.The Thrones, Ophanim(The Biblically-accurate angel meme? That`s them, their role in Scripture however is a lot more boring than they look. They basically just carry around the throne of God and look down on all the Sinners below on Earth and in Hell) . The Dominions or Dominations minister to wayward mortals and leaders on Earth as the name implies to make sure human rulers are following the laws of God. The archangels are the ones who cast rebel angels out to either Earth, Purgatory,Limbo or Hell depending on the denomination as well as blowing the trumpet to signal the Apocalypse. And last but not least, your basic angels are just messengers of God who guard mortals struggling with faith and so on.

Exactly. Husk was so cold towards them, but then he really opens up here to Angel when he realized they both shared one thing in common...selling their souls to a psychopathic freak and trying to drown it all in drugs/booze.

In the not fun way
The reason episode four is called masquerade is because we find out all of this time Angel has just been putting on a mask and faking all his emotions. But I love how husk is the only one that figures it out and really knows he’s hiding his true self. Even know he has been with Charlie and Vaggie for longer than any of the characters there in the has-been hotel. In episode two it always makes me sad at the end because winter pinches comes in and Charlie says he’s our real customer and it always makes me feel so bad for Angel and it makes me feel bad for him. Go on his face you can really see that he wants to change and become a better person.❤❤😊😊😊 I love angel.❤

Everything that's great about this episode has already been said. So I'll address a different matter:
The idea of Charlie coming up with wholesome scenarios for pornography is hilarious.
Also, while Blake is phenomenal as Angel Dust, can we appreciate how terrifyingly effective Joel Perez was as Valentino? Dude was a fucking menace.
This episode was something fire sure and loser baby is a catchy song angels voice and husk work well together. I can think of angels Va but husks Va Keith David never disappoints 21:18

Actually, it's both, development is when the character gets more fleshed out(we get to know them better) and growth is one of the many ways to flesh out a character. Growth can also called "character progression", which is when a character experience change (positive or negative).

Charlie being In Hell makes no sense and kinda ruins the point of heaven she is the daughter of an Angel with a good soul who just happened to be born in hell, the fact Hell born have to stay in Hell regardless of if they sin destroys the whole balance
The point of heaven? We don't even know what gets some souls into heaven in this universe - not even the seraphim knows.
Of course Charlie is going to be in the realm where she was born, why would she be anywhere else? How would she be anywhere else?
