I am glad I found a video that speaks about the NISSAN PATHFINDER 1995 but he doesn't go through step by step process on how to get to the idle air control then remove it. I have this issue and I need help in the step by step process. Can you slowly help me and those in my situation too.
Hey man, thanks for the Vid, I have a 94 that has been sitting for a few years that my grandpa just gave me, trying to get the old girl back on the road again.
Jeseppi Wildfeather Thanks man!! I try to keep to the point at hand and make the videos as simple as I can. I enjoy having some fun too to keep my viewers' from being bored to death..lol.
Mine went out today while I was driving , I sprayed it out with carb cleaner, made a gasket out of a McDonald cup and made it a mile or 2 down the road back to my driveway. I will be picking up a new one tomorrow 😂
@@jamiejonesthecarman install went fine today but after my install when I started the truck it started but it’s running so Rough right now, black smoke out the tail pipe too, I think maybe a piece of old gasket or debris got into the system and clogged it...the engine is starving for air....any idea of where I should start checking ?
Hi, I have a question. How do you reset or relearn(ed)? If you have a video on that it would be great but if not that's cool. Thank goodness I can follow directions pretty good😂 Thank you so much for your time. DJ
I did almost all of them were stripped I went to harbor freight got those extractor sockets literally had to hammer on the socket connected to an extension to each bolt. The last bolt in the back was a pain but I used a different size and was able to get them off.
@@EdmBassHead I ended up letting my engine get hot, then saturated the bolts with Kroil Oil, let it cool off, then repeated those steps once more. I used my impact on the lowest setting first, then went to the next setting. Luckily they all came out. I replaced those bolts with stainless bolts. I removed the old bolts while the engine was still hot.
Help! Where does the wire coming out of the IAC connect back to lol! I can't find where to plug it in I have the connection that goes to the iac but not the line that is on it
Should be a plug just sitting at the base of the throttlebody that’s unplugged and that’s where it goes there should be a whole harness that has wires coming out of it just like we are the other plugs are plugged in and kind of follow the wires back they’ll be all in the same batch
I'm so lost with my car, my car idles fine, as soon as you drive it and come to a stop it goes to normal idle then quickly surges to 1500rpm and then slowly comes back down to normal idle, with the idle circuit disconnected this does not happen, and motor runs smooth, also when the problem occurs and you drive in the low rpm the is no power and ping.. Any advice please?
@@jamiejonesthecarman I've done my best to test by spraying quick start around all my vacuum lines and intakes including the manifold, I think something is jammed open or sticking in the idle air control valve or the idle air adjusting unit, I've been soo frustrated that I stripped everything and sprayed it all with multi purpose lubricant and it has stopped pining but still not 100%, when it was all stripped everything looked shiny and new and there was no dirt at all.. The vehical stood and didn't drive for a few years and I'm thinking I just need to replace the units because I know the could possibly be corrosion or rust somewhere.. The ecu says error code 55 (no error). Heat sensors I have already replaced. Am I on the right track or am I way off?
To add to my question the IAVC (idle air control valve) is it supposed to stay open because when the vehical surges and I turn off the motor that specific valve is half open(this is the valve on the side of the intake and not at the bottom) , and when it's closed it ildes fine, i just searched this morning for more vacuum leaks and I can't seem to find any..
My 91 runs good 95% of the time, BUT at times, it surges at a stop and the tac jumps up and down a little and stalling at times at idle, But then it goes away for a while. then come back??
Hello there man I have a 1994, manual. I know the clutch is fine but everytime I engage and put in in first it feels like the truck has no power almost as if I were to shift in to 2nd from a stop. I replaced all new spark plugs, wires. all the filters. still the same. I've had it for over 10yrs so I know when its acting up. It also has a rough idle when warming up and or slowing down to a stop it stutters, its not a continuous idle. Also ONLY with the AC and slowing down to a stop the truck dies... What is up? could it really be the IAC? I mean it sounds like exactly the same problem you're experiencing. anything helps man. Thank You.
@@5theend1 I know this is old, but you can use "brake clean" and spray around the hoses, intake and every other part 1 at a time while listening for any change in idle.
Would have been nice to detail the process of getting at it - step by step; in addition to demonstrating the tests performed on the valve. Gives a good general overview though.
Giving you a plate of food to eat and you having to provide the fork to eat it with is good enough in my book, the guy was cool enough to give you the knowledge now use that to fix it yourself. If you cant pull an intake manifold off a car than under a hood you should not be 🙄🤦♂️

Good to know about this "low idle crap. Thank you for the video and the experience.
Thanks man I have the same motor on my Navara. Funny design, hard to find everything around the intake

Is it for 2.4L 4 cylinder carborater nissan patbfinder 1992 too? And i dont know were i can find that 🤗
Did you have any issues removing the intake bolts? I heard that these like to brake or strip.

I have a 01 Nissan Frontier with idle problems, on just idle on park or gear the idle will fluctuate. What could be the problem, thanks in advance
This is 3.0?
This guy is the man... real boss. Loved the vid.
How long did it take to get it out? Did you manage to do it with the top resting on the wood block and all the hoses still attached?
Thanks for sharing.
I can see "you are the boss"

the old ones are very very sensitive to vacuum leaks do you have any vacuum leak by chance
Woah thanks for the reply.
Not that I know of. How do I check without a technician? Cracked rubber? Old lines?

How did you go about testing your valve?
Connect it to a 12v battery and watch to see if the plunger/pintle moves back and forth.
thanks for the vid man really helped
No problem at all. Glad to hear it was helpful for you.
