What resonates the most is when you mentioned that critics are usually projecting onto other people what they feel is important that they should be doing. It made me realize an area that I do that in.
Thank you. Also, Some days I don't feel like getting out of bed, but when I do I don't feel like going back.
Have a good one.
Becoming conscious of our projections is really sobering. Tough in the short term, but an essential part of being authentic. For me, its an everyday battle.
Best takeaway don't wait till you're fearless
emmanuel hermanez Love that one! (Here's a video on how to conquer your fear you might dig as well: ruclips.net/video/ko6bcGkI0QE/видео.html)
Something like what a former rector of my church once said: Don't wait till the ducks are all in a row, because they're _never_ all in a row!
Hey Brian, I've been watching many of your videos in the past hour, you're doing such impressive job at translating Steven Pressfield's work. I'm profoundly connected to his stuff and love that you're spreading his unparalleled ideas. Thank you so much for perhaps braving thorough your own resistances and shipping this. It's for sure benefiting so many people, including me, hearing everything in this way. Grazie tanti. Adri

Great Video: short, sharp and clear.
Thanks very much I loved the idea about 9 o'clock - I really need to start doing this. 6am is probably the time for me when I could do an hour of creative work every day. Cheers Brian.
I'm really glad you did this one recently. This has been on my list for ages. It's one of those must reads so this is a good reminder for me. And, as I struggle to build my first professional creative venture I need to be reading this right now. Going to delve into your PN and then read the book, then come back. Thanks!
Kristine Johnson Awesome, Christine!! Sending lots of love and excited to have fun together as you rock it creatively!! :)

Absolutely love your videos and wisdom Brian, keeps getting better and better :)
The first point “Throwing Up” is interesting, recently I watched a tv program where a comedian "PJ Gallagher" admitted to having bad stage fright before every single routine and he had been doing stand up for 10 years, it is clearly his passion and everything seems to flow well when he is on stage but his fear never went away, he tried 2 different techniques to help overcome the fear, during an NLP session he was made aware of the negative thought patterns he was thinking before every show, he was constantly focusing on the worst thing that could happen and asking himself negative questions almost subconsciously making him feel very fearful even hours before an event! He was taught how to break the thoughts and ask himself positive questions, focusing on really empowering thoughts which made him feel Really Good! Empowered and ready to go, he was on a radio show yesterday saying that since he had the NLP session he has never felt anxious before a show!!
Tony Robbins also does “InCANtations” before he goes out on stage, he says it really gets him in "the zone” using his mind and body to serve people in the best way he can
Irrational-fear really is a collection of disempowering thoughts, sometimes people can get over these fears by gradual exposure, other times that doesn’t work and NLP or similar can reprogram those thoughts into positive empowering feelings - then We Can Rock It!
Much
Jasonmc777 That's so good! And I agree. :) Here's a little video I did with my 30-second process to conquer fear! ruclips.net/video/ko6bcGkI0QE/видео.html
Awesome breakdown thanks! I loved the quote by Marcus Aurelius, it illustrates a frame of mind that I really try to maintain. This video made me super happy because I see how I am leaning towards the Pro in so many ways and in which areas need a tune up. So much of it is feeling the fear and doing it anyway! Looking forward to more Brian :)
***** Right on, Ashley!! I appreciate your note and I'm excited for you!! And Amen to feeling the fear and doing it anyway! You might like this video I did on how to conquer fear with some more tips: ruclips.net/video/ko6bcGkI0QE/видео.html

***** Awesome! :)
great presentation.
Hi Brain, I just can't thank you enough, you are truely , truely amazing modern day philosopher. I surfed ton of channels , but couldn't get anything better than yours. I wait to see every single week ( some times more than once a week ) all your uploads on latest books. As it turns out most of the books you give summary on turned out to be awesome, be it books on will power (kelly, roy ) or habits (duhigg) or mark divine etc
karuna jm THANK YOU!!! :)
I love you work Brian. I also write summaries and reviews and always check your videos to double check I'm not missing anything :)
Oddly enough I've been toying with the idea of getting a copy of this book recently after a recommendation by Eric Kim over on his blog. Being a photographer and creative soul who struggles a bit with self doubt, I definitely felt inspired by this video as most of your points (that would be ALL of your points ;) resonate quite strongly with where I'm at presently. No more procrastination! Book on order and new subscriber right here. Cheers for taking the time to create and post: it's appreciated!

LOVE this. I believe self doubt is self criticism. I have been a writer since age 6. I have written scii-fi, non fiction, nano stories, etc. It was like singing, which I have also done since age 6. I "studied it and analyzed it to death. So of course the "true love" died. Then I found this video! I want to blog, be a writer, etc because I KNOW I have talent and have recently been made aware of it yet again just by speaking the words. "Wow, the way you put words together, Deb" was what he said. "Writer. I could do that if I thought about it awhile, but it JUST COMES OUT OF YOU." Ok, I'm listening (again). I want to add something: I believe one way past resistance could be humor. LAUGHTER diffuses negativity and adds life force. Anyone want to dialogue more about this?
I signed up to your program. Love your stuff. Im using your info to but into video. Thank you.

I liked no. 5 .. just do it and don’t wait for inspiration..
As part of no. 4, I really loved your perspective about don’t care about a person feedback who doesn’t love himself because he always dislikes everything like a habit.. Thanks for great insight

I liked so much the fourth idea (critcism) it's original !. Thank you great job.
Nice presentation but I could have used more information on the nature of resistance and its unimaginable power to distract, the kinds of resistances that are going to assail you without let up, and the strategies that really do liken it to a battle in your mind. I've realized that all my life has not be a proposition of giving into fear, I never throw up, I'm never nervous . . . rather I'm ill prepared to fight because I don't understand the diabolical nature of the forces that oppose me.
But nice job sir!! ;-)
I might read the book soon. I am studying law and I am nearly finished.. But I really say for years now that I wanna be a musician. But I dont go pro as you described... Do you hae a tip to take Courage and start oer? I mean I am woking hard.. but for law not musi. Regards and thank you for the words. x

@@HeroicBrian it's not going to revolutionise literature but I've found a story I want to keep telling so I'm now 8 days (circa 8k words) into a vomit draft of a novel... #gottashowup
"The War of Art" is inspired by the famous "The Art of War" Sun Tzu?? Seems great though! Thanks Brian!!1

Thanks Brian. I feel that I do not need to read the book anymore. Do you think there is still more in the book that is worth to discover?
Fatih Taskin YES!! Absolutely. There's way more in these books than I can possibly cover in 10 minutes. My intention is to share a wide variety of books and encourage you to go deeper into the ones that really grab you! Life changing stuff! :)
***** Thanks man. I will definetely read it then.
Fatih Taskin Awesome. I think you'll LOVE it! :)
I dont think your camera is properly focused in this video.

What about "The Resistance?!" Great video by the way.
Professional development or practice in taking it to the next level with investment.. time and money.. 1 year intensive to pro production
that is nice steady intensive body of work
the designs are already there as preliminary which makes for way less fear or concern of direction or knowing where to begin
Crap, I think I'm in the peanut gallery right now.
"I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain."
harryman11 So good.
Litany of Fear From the "Dune" book series for those wondering where it's from.
harryman11 Yes! (And thanks for clarifying!)
Always good to see another Herbert fan by way of implementation.
n2s...must read this asap
Absolutely not true about fear. For some people there is no fear to begin with but for the rest of us, It DEFINITELY GOES AWAY. You know the absence of fear is possible but usually after you act despite its presence enough times that you know the outcome.. You only have fear because you have an attachment to the outcome, which is why comedians who dont care what anyone thinks are fearless on stage. They aren't attached to the outcome.
Nice chalk board

SUMMARY
amateurs think they need to get rid of all fear b4 work.
pros know fear will always be there.
its about feeling fear and still getting things done
henry fonda throwing up example
john elliott- bill Russell- he would throw up b4 every game and then shows up
** don't think that you have to get rid of fear completely
________________________________________________________________________________________
amateur= constantly worried about result
pros= do the work.
show up do the work, let the results take care of themselves, the result of you grinding day in and day out.
focus on thins you need to master your craft
________________________________________________________________________________________
true love
1.amateur= to love
amateur doesnt love his work enough
if you love it enough you will turn pro
if you love it, then think how will your life change if you pursue it as a pro
________________________________________________________________________________________
Criticism:
other people and you criticizing others about their work
sometimes others give good feedback,
others who don't like themselves and then project insecurity upon others
first those who donot love themselves, how can you be insecure because of that
those who have grown give powerful and encouraging feedback
when we criticize others, look in the mirror
most criticism is when you haven't done something properly
it is because you aren't doing work properly
________________________________________________________________________________________
9'o clock
i work only when inspiration strikes, which strikes at 9 am sharp
thus you have to turn it day in and day out, irrespective of mood
thusyou have to turn up/show up
simply the act of showing up is a sign of doing work
Thanks for your summary! Well done! -Zak from Team Optimize

5:10 what a great excuse to ignore criticism of any kind. Just b/c someone is hating doesn't mean they aren't right.
I bought this book ("The war of art") after watching the other videos on "Turning Pro" and "Do the Work"...
Well, this one is total trash not worth the money. It's so locked and preachy that it is almost unbearable to read for an atheist with knowledge on verbal manipulations, biases and a some knowledge on neurobiology.
My philosopher note from this:
NOT all books that somebody likes in youtube are worth the paper.
Thanks for the lesson anyway. :)
Amazing to hear that you're going out and getting your wisdom on!
Not all books are for everyone! Keep optimizing + keep in touch! :)
