@TheInventorworld Hi, Are you asking how we attach the shroud lines to the umbrella? We use some cloth tape folded over the edge of the parachute and then use a hole punch to make a hole. You can also use eyelets for extra strength. We then run each shroud line from one side all the way to the opposite side and use scaffold knots to hold them in place. We then use heat shrink tubing to make the loose ends nice and neat.
@Basrockets Hee hee... down here in the southern hemisphere we have a warm Christmas and new year. :) It was about 27C and windy on the day of the shoot.
I am not sure what you mean when you say put the chute in a circle? Do you mean roll it up, or place it in a circle around the drone? You would want to make sure that any blades stop spinning before you deploy it, otherwise it may tangle the parachute. Ejecting it up and above the blades is your best bet.
Ok, you will need enough airflow to pull the parachute away from the drone and inflate the canopy properly, though if the blades have stopped at this point you probably have enough flow. :) I would still have some sort of spring mechanism like a bent piece of PET plastic that will help push the parachute away from the drone when released. Its kind of hard to recommend without seeing the setup. Do you have a picture/video of your drone?
The uMAD is designed to work with pyro ejection charges. So if you are using a pyro charge to eject your parachute then you can use a uMAD by itself. The uMAD cannot drive a servo motor directly so we use it to trigger one of our servo timers.
please, you may create a tutorial step by step to create a parachute? I'd be very grateful. Thanks in advance your biggest fan. P.S. sorry for my English.

@TheArcy97 We either use a sheet of ripstop nylon bought from the local fabric store, or for the bigger parachutes we use an old umbrella.
Hi George! What is the diameter for this parachute?
Hi, I think it is about 1.2 or 1.4m
Thank you your videos are full of useful and helpful information
@TheInventorworld We use braided nylon for both the shroud lines and the shock cord.
fantastic! i made a diy parachute and with your folding tips it got an awsome project! thanks

Could you say if I put the parachute in circle, the parachute will unfold himself correctly... ? (its for hexacopter drone)

Place it in circle around the drone, Flight controller wil stop the motors before release parachute
How will you be holding the parachute down if it is in a circle around the drone?
Around gps dome with an elastic released with a servo motor

@afiq8219 - You are correct. We use old golf umbrellas for all our bigger parachutes. :)

where you buy the parachute for water rocket? thanks!!!

@AirCommandRockets ok ,thanks ,cause every time i fold they just not neat enough
what line do you use?
what kind of fabric do you use for parachute??
Ripstop Nylon.
@sneak243 :) Sometimes you just want to fold a parachute that way.
haha that was funny , but you make this video in the summer ? and you upload the video at 2-1-2012?
that was 5 seconds
Can you please send me the full details?
Wow ! here in holland the max temperature is about 9C brr. (at new year)
They are not for sale any longer, however, if you would like to make them yourself I can send you the full details.
tricked me ! you have my applause !:)
Just go to our contacts page on our main website and send me an email. I'll email you back the full pack.
it says three seconds but the video is 2 minutes long...
You should tie-dye your parachutes!
super
I laugh at 0:11!!!!!!!!!!
So nice...
