Thatcher. The last prime minister with back bone this country ever had.

The ship in the picture is not the HMS Endurance of 1982.

I agree - it is the successor. Confusingly they both had the same pennant number A171.

Hello, Neil. I am working on a phD thesis on the Falklands War and the media, do you know where can I get the official reports from the English Government during the conflict? Thank you

It's Peter Donaldson. I'd rather have heard the full House of Commons debate though.

"continuing to urge President Nixon to help us as he has done magnificently" - must have been the pressure of events for him to mention Nixon - at the ten minute and twenty second mark

The question is whether modern Britain of today would still be able and willing to parry an Argentinian assault , should It happen today. 40 years later, with growing islamization, running out of capable military personnel, Britain does not appear to be as strong as in those days of yore

With all courtesy to all British readers I allow myself to pose the question: wouldn't it be easier for all Falklanders to preserve their British way of life under Argentinian rule than under a metropolitan Britain in decay?

    Piracy is not ok.

      You're right it isn't.
That's why we responded with force. You can't just let people walk in and invade you.

Tulaenelorto - Right. That’s why the U. S. Navy kicked Argentine pirates out in 1831, who had captured American sealers operating on the islands.
