I remember catching this movie at an independent theater when it was released and then finding a DVD copy at a thrift store sometime later. Cant wait to see it in 4k - thanks for the excellent reviews!
I was surprised by how much of an upgrade this is. Sony really knocked this out of the park. I f you enjoyed this film, I hope you will checkout Satoshi Kon’s other work.
Such a great transfer. The sound mix is so good! I currently have a 5.1 setup and it is a banger. So glad I own this physical disk so when I do upgrade to atmos I can revisit. I haven’t seen the film in a few years and the Inception comparison still holds up, but like Adam said the Nolan brothers took some of the ideas in this movie and made it their own. Definitely worth owing for any fans.

I thought so too, but Anime tends to run on the expensive side. It’s such a good disk. If you’re a fan very much worth the price of admission.
