  • If you are embarking on a new journey to move to Los Angeles, watch this first. This is just my personal experience and your story will be a totally different path that is meant for you. But here are some things I learned...
Here also are some helpful tips:
Areas I would recommend in LA:
    -West LA
    -Culver City
    -Studio City
    -Sherman Oaks
    -Redondo Beach
    -Marina Del Rey
Areas I would avoid (actual places I have lived in or known someone in)
    -Hollywood (dirty...)
    -Koreatown (PARKING IS NON-EXISTENT)
-Anything in the valley if your job is in the city (the commute will be harsh)
    How much money to bring?
    - That is solely up to you. However, please note that most apts charge first, last month and a deposit. So be prepared.
    Do I need a car??
-YES. unless you like to get ubers everywhere...bring your car.

As someone born & raised here, I can assure you the LA area is filled with millions of people who are warm, welcoming, family oriented and non-materialistic.. BUT the trade-off is they typically live in "boring" parts of town that are not very instagram-worthy and don't offer much in the way of advancing high profile careers and/or creative fields. You can choose the flashy career life in LA, or you can choose the smaller authentic community life in LA, but it's very difficult to find & maintain both in the same spot. Almost impossible, to be honest.
Hopefully in wherever your next venture is, you are able to find a healthy balance of the qualities you seek 💯

@dante340 thanks for sharing your experiences. I’m considering LA and was curious if you have any recommendations of “authentic communities” that’s worth checking out?

Hi I've entertained the thought of moving to the cities you had mentioned in the video Seattle Los Angeles and Dallas which you have previously lived in before which city did you like best out of all of the three?

Born and raised in LA and I can agree with everything you said about this place. I’ve since moved a couple hours Inland about 5 years ago…better but not by a lot as far as the people and making friends.

I have lived in LA and Dallas but I am from Washington DC and basically all big cities have their pros and cons for example Washington DC is all about corporations and federal government jobs not the best for creatives like LA and even Dallas unless you are in Baltimore MD.

LA is like a circus or Disneyland its not real, overrated, a big delusion.
