- My pregnancy with Riley went from being very normal to very complex in the short space of one afternoon. At my 30 week scan the sonographers had to give my husband and I the bad news, that there was something wrong with the baby.

I'm sorry this was so scary for you. ❤ I lost our 2nd child at 19 weeks. She had spina bifida with severe hydrocephalus. Erin would have been 33 yo this year, and it still breaks my heart. But we will see her when we get to heaven. ❤ Take care. Thank you for sharing, and I will follow your story.
❤
Caesarean was the BEST decision for your baby. I know that was hard for you. I had one. But you are a true MOM!!
Your baby has been born into the safe hands of good parents. You have a good heart and sole and this little gem will have the best care that any baby can have.
I had our daughter 9 weeks early. She was in hospital 5 weeks. We both almost died but luckily I was quite medicated for that. All her issues were developmental. She has autism but is pretty high functioning. She can’t drive, has trouble meeting people etc. she just turned 30 and she will live with us as long as we live. I really wish she could meet someone and have some friends. I thank God for her. We were never supposed kids cause of problems I had. Luckily we were blessed. Blessings to you and your family. Struggles make you stronger and God will be looking out for you all.
Praying for your daughter .
I was very fortunate, my daughter was 2 lbs at birth, she only spent 6 weeks in the hospital. She didn't have any problems. She just had her 53rd birthday. She was diagnosed with stage 3 - 4 cervical cancer, but she has been a fighter all of her life, so we're not giving up.
All babies are beautiful. Downs babies and other babies with special needs babies are extra special and they give to society something very special.
They show love that's lost on most of this world. They give their parents a different type of joy when the reach each level. It's the courage they had doing it.
Nope.
@@ikeameltdown8012 the Nazis had the same view as you
@@ikeameltdown8012 , does your mom know the abortion didn't take?
Not all of them.
I'm pulling for you. He was born to the right parents.
May God bless you, your husband and sweet baby, Riley. I pray you all get the best care with all kind, intelligent and proactive medical teams and help in all areas going forward in life.❤🙏🏻
7 years ago!
Hang in there sweetheart. All my hope for you, your husband and especially the baby.❤
Baby is now 9 years old.
Aww sweetheart I just want to give you a big hug 🤗. Your drs will take care of him and I know you will love 💕 him no matter what. So hang in there sweetie!🥰😘
I hope that you know how special your little baby is. You are a courageous mom. I had emergency c-section with my first daughter. She turned around at the last possible moment and she was fine. She was born in Germany and my two other daughters were born by c-section in the USA. God has a reason for everything and your baby is not a mistake or anything. You are blessed that is for sure.
I just saw your video so I am hoping that things turned out better than you were expecting them to. I wanted to tell you that you have the most beautiful and expressive eyes I have ever seen. Your 💜 is right there in them. I wish everything good in the world for you and your family.
Good decision to have a Caesarean - sometimes people act like you did something wrong by making that decision but you did it for SAFETY, not because you wanted to pick his birthday, or have your hair and make-up all perfect. (True story: A young woman I know put on her Facebook page a photo of herself right before going in for her Caesarean, and said "One great thing about a C-section, you can have your make-up just perfect.") Anyway, I applaud you and your husband - what stressful things to go through during an already anxious time ! I can't wait to watch your next video and see how things went .

I had scheduled c-sections due to baby’s size. My pelvic bones were two narrow. I had makeup on!
If there is a medical reason to have a csection you should be glad a dr advices to play it safe… so never feel bad about a choice like that❤️
I was 40 for my first and only pregnancy. T1D x 24 years. My tendons weren’t loosening like the average person’s would have, I’d had uterine surgery
@@The_momur
Oh my. My mother’s heart feels for what you have gone through. You were-and are-so brave and strong.
Sometimes too much information is terrifying.
You’re fortunate that you are receiving such great medical care and they were/are able to provide you with useful information.
Riley is so blessed to have such a caring loving mum and you are blessed to have Riley, a daring earth angel.
Yeah we have been there with our kids. One of our kids was born 8.5 weeks early because of pre-eclampsia and when our child was born the umbilical cord was wrapped around their neck. Our child has autism now. Then our other child had a scan around 35 weeks and they found something wrong with them. We had to have a planned c-section up at a bigger hospital 4.5 hours away from where we live. Both of our kids were in the NICU. Our second child was born with a rare birth defect 1/20-25k birth chance. It has been a ride. Hope everything is going good for you.
You are such a fantastic speaker, I saw the nerves and emotion and just was amazed by you. Thank you for sharing.xo
I watched your other video. Your son is precious! Riley is so adorable and sweet. And your family is so amazing. He has the best parents in the world. *Biggest hug to Riley*
You are very brave to share your story, thank you, so many people go through so many different medical scenarios with pregnancy and they have no one to share it with that understand, so your story is similar to what I went through 24 years ago with my first baby , so your story brings back memories for me and it should help others know their not alone. Again, thank you for sharing, I am looking forward to the next video about the outcome.
So sorry for all the stress ❤ I hope I see your next story and Riley is well😊
God bless you all. I wish you all well.😮❤
All children are a beautiful gift from God!💜💜💜💜💜💜
I just can't imagine how it felt going through all of this. I've always found scans and tests really nerve wrecking but to go through all of this with bad news after bad news must be so bewildering. Lots of love and hugs to you all xxx
I had two caesareans because my first baby (vaginal birth) was a stillbirth. All 3 babies were born normal; no physical deformities, or challenges, even the first stillborn. Not all caesareans are because of birth defects...my birth canal is very small, and I had over 8 pound babies in all 3 pregnancies.
Same for me, Emy. Daughter #1 was not interested in coming out. After a long labor the doctor grabbed her foot (butt was down) and gave it a tug. Nope. She didn't move. C-Birth. Second daughter, same thing. Do people, especially women, who call non C-birth, natural, an unnatural birth? Women can be so judgmental in a really hurtful way, as if we women fail someway. God bless your little one.
GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY
Bless your hearts 💕
You are so brave lady. You deserve UT most love .I wish you the most beautifull life.to you and your love ones. And health and strength

It's distracting that 3 people discussed your baby in front of you and that they couldn't immediately get a doctor. Usually one person that sees an abnormality, and they go get a doctor immediately. And the stranger still that they didn't see the organs outside the body on the FIRST ultrasound. I'm really upset that they didn't see anything at all wrong until 31 weeks! I'm shocked. Cometely shocked. Why didn't the doctor see this early? I'm a nurse in obstetrics and unless someone has no prenatal care. We literally know this information by 20 weeks at the latest. It's crazy. I'm so sorry if something is really wrong. Love and light.
She talked about the midwife reading the scans. I thought it odd that a doctor wasn't reading the scans. Maybe Australia does things differently than U.S.
Poor little mate-
I hope🍀he's doing ok now... Much love💖
Riley makes it and is a lovely little boy
I'm so glad you had your husband to go through this with you and support you. I pray that your baby is doing good. You seem to be making good healthy decisions for you baby
that is scary... it simms here we getting the us very early and if there is something wrong the doctors watching it closly for whole pregnency, My boy had a bit enlarged ventricles - on the highest normal range and we kept watching it even had MRI at 32 weeks. Thankfully it did not got worse and he is just fine,
When i had my kids there were no such things as scans etc. i think it was better that way
Same!!! didn’t even know if it was a boy or a girl!
Same here. No scans and I was happy not knowing if the baby was a girl or boy. It was more exciting.
@@Yaya2214CJit’s not about knowing the sex of your baby, it’s about being prepared for an abnormality
@@KatieBarnes-nz2hzyou're right, it's been made into if you'd want to kill the baby or not
@@Closereveryday nope.
It’s about being prepared and able to accept the challenges that a special needs child could need.
Nobody mentioned abortion but that is the choices it affords you.
Hope everything goes well! All babies bring joy!
You are so brave. You and your husband are going to be amazing parents with the help of your wonderful medical team. God is with you and watching over the three of you.♥️
I seen Riley at 5 months boy is he so cute ❤
Love and hugs to you all.
I know this story was long ago. I just watched it. My brother was born with his organs on the outside. We would joke that he didn’t have a belly button. He passed away at age 70. God bless u in your journey.
God bless you both. I will pray for your family.
So wonderfully informative, and upbeat, this video, Tamara! Beautifully done! 🙏
Your video randomly popped up on my suggested videos. You never said in this video whether Riley made it or not. I really hope and pray that he did, but this was 7 years ago. How are things now?
Strange, the video randomly popped up on my feed tonight. I don't typically watch these things either and now I kinda want to know what happened... 💜
So sorry this had to be so stressful for you and your husband. ❤
very emotional story, i cant imagine how stressful that would have been for you and you husband. Riley is such a gorgeous little boy and you are an amazing mum!!
sending lots of love from out little family to yours xx
awwwww thanks :)
It was stressful, but I was glad that we found out there was something wrong with Riley before he was born. If we didn't find out until after he was born, it would have been an even harder pill to swallow I think. thanks for watching xx
It’s hard raising a Se kid my Se kids now 21 years old he’s self medicating him self

I think your doing a great job with Riley this would of been a shock to you and your husband but I think GOD knew you could look after him. Thank you for sharing your story with us.
awwww thank you :) it was a shock, but I believe Riley was supposed to come to us too :) Thanks for watching x
WOULD'VE = would + have. ;-)
Mandy's life So god caused this?
Deborah Parks Yea, havnt you head that God created man ??
It is used as a ''self comfort'' thing..''don't worry, God sent him/her to you''.. Have heard this said to other parents : ''God sent ..&c&c.......In reality, it is cold hard science, genetics, probability and statistics.
When children are born to violent/cruel parents, did ''God'' send those children to be treated abysmally or worse?
Of course not.
Science nowadays gives answers.
God does not cause these things...it is genes.
God does not cause babies too be born fit and healthy, either. That too is luck, combinations of genes and not drinking/smoking.
Thankyou for sharing your story. I'm looking forward to your next video 🇬🇧💜
Please don't be sad n stress ur baby will be fine.. no z baby is fine bcoz am watching z video today
So, don’t know how the baby is/was. Obviously, I hope it is healthy and well
Very very informative Xx I know looks can always be deceptive but you do 'appear" to be in control although your world seems to be falling around you xx
IM positive things haven't/ been easy but I know you will be strong,xx I hope things are going well with little Riley and really look forward to your next video
Loads of love and good wishes xx
Where can I find the follow-up to this video? I looked in your video list but can't tell which one is the follow-up. Thanks.
Thank you for sharing.
It is strange to me that some tests were contradicting what they were saying. How could the MRI say things were ok and they still said he had organs outside the body? Your pictures looked so happy with each week's progress. I don't think I could have handled it as calmly as you seem to have. I can't wait to find the next video to find out what happened next.
I was so sick with my first son that I lost 19 lbs. I ended up in the hospital for four days with an IV. I was so scared that something would have been wrong because I couldn't keep anything down. Thankfully he's ok.
Certain parts of the body develop at different times, and begin getting larger at different times throughout a pregnancy.
Mine fødder var. 3 gange så tykke ,min søn er helt normal ,han er 46 i dag ❤
my first baby was 10lbs, second baby 5lbs, third and fourth were 7lbs.
My babies weighed in 3 lbs 7 1/2 oz, 6 lbs 11 1/2ozs, and 8lbs even. Son, Daughter and Son
Wow.....wow. That is a lot to go through.
Thats called gastroschisis and the kidneys enlarged can mean a blockage.
My son was born with that too! He just had his 29th birthday 😊
Brave of you to put this on a public forum. But so much help for other mums. Which is very important. I had 2 Caesarian’s - decided by the obstetrician
Such a cute couple!
SAO SORRY.........GOD BLESS YOU BOTH.
I am surprised they didn’t just recommend a c/s.
Where is part 2 ??

Oh wow you couldn't have found a bigger rollercoaster ride at dream world, The medical professionals don't worry too much about playing with your emotions or stress levels do they. I mean he was alright, not alright, alright, catestrophic, back to perfectly fine, etc etc etc. You sound like you are a
cope-er though. Maybe that is only because of the passage of time since all of this was happening and you recounting it. I had a slightly similar thing happen to me too, it certainly changes things up, in a time you should be blissed out, doesn't it. If it wasn't for the fact I can see your cherub

Why so many scans ?
Why do you think ? So many problems and they had to decide how to deliver him
Oh maybe because organs were outside of the body, enlarged kidneys, enlarged ventricles.... Why the silly question?

think it is stupid doing testing far into pregnancy and informing parents of concerns, baby is on its way no turning back, disappointing medics are not enabling parents to have a chance to express the excitement of bringing a new child into the world
That's dumb.
Knowing if anything is wrong means quicker treatment and forward planning.
@@twistolemonand yes you can still abort if the fetus is not compatible with life like no brain or no kidneys you can still terminate
And it could engender a self-fulfilling prophecy as they treat the baby differently. And all the telepathy going on.
