- On July 17th, 1970 during the middle of the night 5 convicts all serving life sentences escaped Dorchester Penitentiary in New Brunswick, Canada.
While making their escape they stumbled upon an abandoned farm, or so they thought, 20 kilometers away from the penitentiary. 2 days later two of the convicts told the warden the grisly details of what happened at the farm.
Scary/Horror stories claiming to be real by the people who lived them and told them. Real or not? You decide. For legal reasons all stories have been declared as fictitious. Im nearing 60 grew up on television, but have reverted back to much older programming and especially old radio shows....modern tales dont hold my interest as can the older treasures out there waiting to be rediscovered.

Another great true crime channel/podcast is the Casual Criminalist. He has a group of writers that send him a script about crimes then he cold reads it and adds his own comments as he reads the script. Probably one of the best "readers" I have ever heard

The most famous actual story of someone presumed to be a werewolf did indeed take place in France. Do a search for "The Beast of Gévaudan".
Presumed by many yes, but in the reality that beast was just a man-eating wolf.

A very interesting story. It's tough to deny what was told by 2 or more witnesses. Especially when corroborated by the old man. 220 years old. Then again a demon is ageless and can assume many forms.

@@horrorstirychannel2930 Sisteron is quite a strange place with very unusual geology. It's built on the side of a river gorge. It is very cold there in winter and very hot in summer.

I can say that I have listened to every story on this channel and there were only 2 that I saw repeated on other channels.
One was about the cursed doll and the other about "The Incident" where the Sheriff was possessed by some kind of demon.

If it was real, nobody would ever hear about it. The authorities and the powers that be would do everything they could to keep it hush hush. Same as they do everything else...

I’m at 6:56 on this video. My guess is that the old man is Loup garou! A man who is also a wolf. He states that he cannot die. Stories of a Loup Garou are famous in France. Since that’s his home country, that’s my guess. Now to watch the rest of the video to see if I’m right.

I really enjoyed this story and subscribed to hear more. I have to say I think the old man got a raw deal. He was outnumbered by men he knew would kill him so killing a few of them before they killed him would be self-defense under most circumstances. I like to think the other found bodies and bones were probably from others who tried to harm the old man. (I'm old too so maybe I'm just protective of one of my peers.) (-;
He only served 14 years for killing 3 people. That ain't bad. The only reason he served any time at all is because they knew he was a cannibalistic serial killer but they couldn't PROVE it, so they poked holes in the self-defense argument.
Oh wait, I forgot he wasn't released from prison after 14 years. He instead escaped. Yeah, the cannibalism kinda made swiss cheese outta the self-defense argument. He wasted no time either. It's not like he let a day or 2 elapse before he got hungry and started gnawing on the corpses. He ate not one but 2 of 'em straight away. They couldn't prove he ate the third one but obviously there comes a point where it's more refined to hide your gluttony.
What about the other 100 whose bones were found there? 😅

I would be interested in learning more about the old man’s time in prison. There must be accounts of him through prison staff, inmates, medical staff.
Finding that information would verify the story.
I spent 12 years in Dorchester and never once did I ever hear A bout this it's exactly what it's supposed to be a story
It would be interesting to check see if there is any data on this or it's just a story. There was a old woman the yazoo witch who was killing eating men she was hunted down killed. Cursed the town all kinds of shit happened after. I thought it was a bs story as I grew up near there over in Vicksburg but when I went and checked turns out it was true. Be interesting to check this one out as well see if its actually based on anything or just jive.
It's fictional, the way it's written out it sounds real.. very good story would make a great movie...

Two of the convicts were related to my Grandma. I was told about this as a child by my mother. People then believed the old man had been raised in a Scottish clan that practiced cannabalism, and that he escaped the law, and stowed away on a ship to Halifax, and found farm work in Acadian communities of Eastern Canada. It was believed that many of the bodies found were those of recent immigrants that traveled along the Eastern Canadian seaboard looking for work on fishing boats.

🌺As a Canadian, specifically an Albertan I remember in lower elementary school switching from imperial to metric. This took as per government reports approx 5 years, but laughable. It truly took much longer lol. Re-publishing text books and work books, signage in every province, tools, equipment, etc. In any case I was young but even to this day will find myself still using feet not meters and often kilometres to miles depending on where. Die hard in me a strange way lol. In essence kinda wonder about this story that 😢Prisoners who generally were NOT ALWAYS well educated and would not have used METRIC in 1970 lol. Just an observation I wanted to share. Great story nonetheless, just a little hard to fully believe in the utilization of metrics 📚✏️🎓🧑🏫

I'm confused here. Why was the old guy arrested for murder originally ? He'd been surprised and overpowered by 5 convicts. He could've put it down to self defence and the convicts attacking each other.
I know there were 100s of bodies subsequently found, but these wouldnt've been found if he hadn't been charged with murder. Why would the prison authorities take any notice of what the convicts said anyway ?
