Dropping by to *appreciate* the lesson that you shared with us in this video. In my quest to see "letters as numbers," I found my way to your video, and I'm mighty glad about it. Looking forward to more of your content.
I am trying to build a spread sheet where if I type an X in a cell it will automatically have a value of 10. Do I need to build a ledger for formulas on my spread sheet?
One tip - don't ever change a formula within a column. Good rule to live by. In this example, it would be best to UPPER(A2) then CODE, which would make all of the characters uniform without having to change the actual formula in row 9.
hi Thank you for this tutorial, i have been trying to implement that but i didn't manage though. i would like to be able to write words or sentences in one cell and then the letters to be added according to the number that i have given to them like in your video, and give me a total value in another cell. i managed to give the letters the values that i want but after... am stuck.. i can not convert the sentence to numbers and then add them.. can you help me please!!!
HI, SO CAN YOU CODE IT WHEREAS YOU CAN INPUT DIFFERENT NUMBERS AND FOINSTANCE YOU HAVE AN ALGEBAIC EXPRESSION YOUR INPUT AUTOMATICALLY CONVERTS THE LETTERS INTO YOUR NUMBERS?
i created the table, how would i now add the letters togther. for example i am working with a sread sheet that uses letters to mark a value ie. D=8, i would like a function that would sum up the letters by replacing them with their assigned numeric value? ie D+D+D+D+D = 40, thank you in advance
How would you give a letter a value for work schedules, eg. C = 7 hour shift , M = 4.5 hour shift etc. and then add them all to get the amount of hours given to a certain worker
Hi! Thanks for your video, but I have a question. How to make it so that I only enter the letter "a" in different cells, and there were different numbers in these cells. For example: I enter the letter "a" in cell A1, and in the same cell the number "1" is output instead of the letter "a". Next, I enter the letter "a" in cell A2 and in the same cell, instead of the letter "a", the number "2" is output and so on. Thanks.

Very helpful Tutorial. Thank you.
I have one question:
How do we change the Number "2" with other number, such as "9" for example?
Believe it or not, the code for 2 isn't 2, so this will also give you different numbers.

You need functions, Right(), Left(), and Len().
