It was funny to watch Rebecca complain about the lack of shortcut buttons to the ventilation system, while pressing the shortcut button! The piano keys each control a function. When the driver is familiar with these locations they become second nature. Same goes with the cruise control buttons. They are so intuitive and easy to use. Much more so than the steering wheel based system on my previous car.
I am used to audio controls in the back of the steering wheel, once you know where they are and what they do is so much better than having a million buttons in the actual wheel, French style by the way.
The cruise control is fantastic once you know intuitively where to press. Buttons on the steering wheel constantly change relative to your hands, so much prefer Peugeot's choice.
It actually is quite an appealing vehicle. I can see it as a potential car. It looks good and has seven seats and also i can carry timber sheets with seats folded down. Peugeot actually has a car I like for the first time.
Had one now for 3 months while my car is on order - Diesel 1.6 Allure. Good kit but very light steering & that steering wheel is far too small. The worse thing is the lane changing warning which drives you mad (now turned off) The other issue WAS the SATNAV ... according to reviews I had read it didn’t have full postcode BUT even though there’s no postcode entry if you do enter the code on town / address it works !!! The info system works fine with knacky little short cut switches. All in all not bad but the quality is a bit lacking. Great on fuel but by no means under powered with such a small diesel. Not ideal for car parks though as it is quite big for standard parking spaces & has already a few battle scars from “others”. Great driving position and comfortable ride though have made me rethink the SUV 👍
Come on "motorjournalists"! The cruise control is meant to be used by feel, not by looking at it and it is the best place I have ever seen the cruise control located in any car ever! So intuitive!
I like the Honda steering wheels (a few of the buttons are at 8 o'clock and 4 o'clock as opposed to being all clustered together) but they are admittedly much larger than modern Peugeot steering wheels.
Confusing review. The summary is repeated twice (albeit in different wording), the cruise/speed limiter is "fiddly to get to" despite being behind a small steering wheel, the video is too dark to judge the glove box, and finally, why "leave the Sport button alone"? :)
Stephan Dolby The globe box is tiny because when Peugeot have converted it to right hand drive, they’ve left the fuse box on the left so it eats into the space for the glove box. Not sure why she’s against the sport mode. It’s pretty good on the 3008
I was thinking that the fuse box would be there, however I was curious as to whether the glove box was deeper than that of the 3008. The assumption is that it probably isn't. That said, there are plenty of other storage cubbies in the cabin that are more convenient than reaching for the glove box.
This isn't the 2020 model. The front (fog lights) give it away. Engine options are also different now. That being said, the 2020 is a facelift, so most of the review is still applicable, I would think.
The x trail is so far behind the 3008/5008 that saying both are equivalent and in completion is showing a complete lack of knowledge of both car. Even the skoda, for the same price doesn't offer as much stuff....
Any proper tester would know you can’t spec grip control on a GT Line Premium as they come with the 19 inch thinner wheels. Hence why the fuel economy is so good. Taller thinner wheel equals less rolling resistance and higher mpg. As for not a 4 wheel drive nobody ever mentions they use more fuel no matter how carefully you drive and honestly who actually needs 4wd on a public road?snow socks cure snow so wheel that Peugeot now sell them as a genuine accessory.
I bought a brand new 5008 in January last year. I was sold the dream of the pop up seats but they are on an aggressive hing/spring mechanism which can cause the rollers to jump out of the rail and means it can't be folder flat or put into a seat position so it becomes an obstacle in the boot in an apex position. Peugeot and The dealership are aware of this and there is no way to repair this other than replace the seat completely at a cost of over £1,000. Personally I would not advise anyone to buy this car.
I have had the 2.0L GT for 4 months now and it's a lovely car, Peugeot have upped their game. Oh, press the Sports button it's fun. The only down side the 19" wheels generate some noise on certain roads. This bird hasn't a clue the controls are really easy to use, climate control is a doddle.
Personally I have driven many brands and always opt for cruise control, those on the Pug leave the Fiat Chrysler Group's offering in the dumpster, the VW group's a margin ahead, Ford miles, perhaps decades back. You don't to see how something works but you do want certainty, particularly when living an environment when 3 ks over can cost you several hundred $s and a quarter of your licence points in one camera shot! I think you were clutching at straws when criticising the Pug's cruise control. It may not be to everyone's liking but from my perspective I'd rate the Pug's cruise and speedo accuracy as well as it's ability to hold a consistent speed well above many of it's competitors. At the risk of the cheap shot, why the dual conclusions in the video? PS can we ditch the banana, crisps and big bottle references, if I drank that much in a drive our deserts would be arable and if I consumed that much food my car would be full of insects and crumbs? Really; let's lift the game a little more.
Shanjan, have you looked at any other car manufacturer? All look practically the same, and use the same platforms and components. What you think it just a French thing is actually something that is used by all car manufacturers. An example of this is the Ford Galaxy and S-Max. Exactly the same, until you get to the rear quarter. Think before you comment.
Valentin alexandru It isn't. Never buy a petrol engine car below 1.4 litre unless if you're a city driver or do low mileage. 1.4 onwards if you're a regular driver and high milage and if you drive on Mways it's diesel all the way.
I prefer my Skoda Kodiaq 1.4tsi SE L 4x4 DSG, surprisingly smooth, quiet and powerful. Simple elegant good looks and a more classy interior. The Peugeot looks nice but too fussy, I think it will age!
This peugeot 5008 from outside looks nice. But this is peugeot. Engineers are drunk. 1.2 petrol in family car. Serious engineers sick. Interior nothing special. Plus she said dont tuch sport mode? Buy this 5008. Than put 3.0 turbo petrol engine. And price will be the sameike 1.2l. Anyway. All new Peugeot interior same. But really that dashboard in All peugeot are same. I wanna buy new car. So maybe mercedes benz B class is the best option 30000eu.
Jesus, do they have a school where they send motoring journalists to speak in this way? My voice goes way up and then slowly down, like a rollercoaster. It's weird as heck. Just stop it. Trying to sound like Tiff...
Had one now for a months absolutely loving it and no buyers regret.
That's good to hear, as my move to the Philippines later this year, the 5008 is my no. 1 choice...
Yep, the same here. That was kind of clumsy...
I guess it must be annoying for a British to say something good about a French product, they try hard to find something wrong....
I am used to audio controls in the back of the steering wheel, once you know where they are and what they do is so much better than having a million buttons in the actual wheel, French style by the way.

What a fresh new face, beautiful car.
Ambassador yes I think so too. Lately I'm really loving French design & flair.. Such a refreshment
Ive got one (5008) and its really nice especially if you have kids 🙂 very comfortable to drive
One of the best in it's class
Beautiful CAr! Designers of this beaty are made great job

Exactly. Nobody wants masses of buttons on the steering wheel, and I wouldn't use it anywhere near as much as media controls.
Honda CR-V, right side of steering wheel for cruse control, left side for media. Perfect
I like the Honda steering wheels (a few of the buttons are at 8 o'clock and 4 o'clock as opposed to being all clustered together) but they are admittedly much larger than modern Peugeot steering wheels.
Head room is very tight in the middle row. Over 5 foot 9 and you might struggle. Rebecca is ok at 5 foot 4 ish.
The infortainment system isn’t as bad as she’s making out at all.
Ikr
The infotainment is the best I’ve used, don’t know why she is criticizing it here.
Why do you reccomend allure over the higher spec models? Please explain thank you.

I do want to know why do I have to leave the sport button alone.
Why is this headed the 2020 model review, when it was uploaded in January 2018, or is the upload date a mere typo?...
This isn't the 2020 model. The front (fog lights) give it away. Engine options are also different now.
That being said, the 2020 is a facelift, so most of the review is still applicable, I would think.
Is it better than the XTrail?
I am so glad she did this review.
Nice car (8/10) but you would have to REALLY need the extra space/7 seats to go for this over the 3008 (9.5/10)
Yes if you have 3 kids
Is this car good to drive in the snow?
So you jump from CarBuyer to Telegraph Cars and now Whatcar? Can you please choose channel?
Mr H Reviews Mr H Reviews indeed
Was about to ask the same question 🙄🙄
Does anyone know what's the boot capacity with the 7 seats in use? Appreciate the answer.
166 liters
Thanks for good review , i will buy it
01:35 pick The 1.6 litre petrol engined one not 1.2. Best one.
This 5008 and 508 are very good looking
The x trail is so far behind the 3008/5008 that saying both are equivalent and in completion is showing a complete lack of knowledge of both car. Even the skoda, for the same price doesn't offer as much stuff....
Come on Rebecca! 1.6 liter 150HP diesel?! In a Peugeot?! How could you have made such a mistake?
Is it not a 1.5 130bhp?
this comment isn’t helpful unless you tell people why its a mistake, doesn’t add any value as a put down otherwise.
Imagine having to hear this voice every day..
How much for the repair cost?
banana’s back. good.
CAN WE GET THIS IN THE US PLEASE????
NO!
Peugeot will enter the US market again but I don't remember when
@@stacia6678 ..same journey few kg cocaine and few immigrants.
No because Donald Trump has banned all types of immigration including cars
Peugeot is confirmed to come back to the U.S. in 2026.
what's the real life fuel consumption in 1.2 5008?
My new dream car
i love this woman who done the review
Like very much the 5008. Feel gutted that I just brought the 3008. Not so lofty to the 5008.
Why dont reviewers recommend the best engine, the 2.0hdi diesel with rock hard reliability?
Why doesn't she ever show how to get into the third row? Pretty important when reviewing a 7 seater car.....
İs it based on Mitsu 0utLander¿?
When for the Peugeot 3008 review ?
*Puts banana on phone charging pad* xD
Well, no one likes a limp banana, so it's getting a recharge...
Why the video was released 3years ago when the model is 2020
Very good review

So is it?
Its definitely my favorite, but don't be a clickbaiter, respond to your own questions in video titles.
Like Peugeot 5008👍👍
Complete shame she gets to review the cars I'm interested in. Her speech rhythm and speed really distract me. Sad.
Thought she was very nice
+What Car? Rebecca, you touched the shortcut to the climate control settings after touching the screen. Come on Rebecca!
How much?
what country made?
But will it be on the road in lets say 10years time.....
Very much considering it ...
Why does Rebecca now talk like an announcer in Tesco?
Maybe she worked there before lol

1.2L on an SUV! Wow!
Hands down buy one
What happened to telegraph cars
If parking isn't your strong point, you shouldn't be driving! I don't like looking down at a screen, I prefer to actually look where I'm going.....
Very nice car and the most beautiful car expert presenter 😁👍👌
No 4WD option is a deal killer.
For sure. It's supposed to be an SUV...not a van...
Buy range rover and fix it more often 😂😂
Large SUV?

AMAZING CAR!
amazing car
Why it looks like 3008 from the front
It is practically the same car, except its 20cm longer and carries 7 persons instead of 5.
because it's his big brother :)
It's typical French design. Repeat Copy and Paste lol.
Yudha Bagasl

The 1200 engine is ridiculously good.
Brilliant engine sounds like a V8
So 7up = no boot space?
Buy a van
The way she pronounced COCKpit 🤗
😂😂😂
You repeat the same bit towards the end. Editing?
This is spec very good fit to indonesian
How can a 1.2 l engine be punchy????

Simple elegant good looks and a more classy interior.
The Peugeot looks nice but too fussy, I think it will age!
I thought Kodiaq is AWD not 4x4. Am i wrong?
Bagus sekali ya mobilnya
5008? What's that? I just wanted to watch Rebecca Jackson.
My 2017 PSA car has proven faultless
Accent was simply wow
Le seigneur !!!! Si vous voulez vendre en Russie, faites des prix adéquats. Peugeot n'est pas une marque Premium !!!!
No 4 wheel drive, then NOT an SUV, still a MPV
John Kellett o
Can any Brits explain to me why you pronounce Peugeot with an R in it?
Nice video ... steering is on the wrong side!!! ;-)
Ford ecosport 2021review
Nice shoes
Who lives in a car like this? Is it your intention to sound like Loyd Grossman?
What’s with the patronising and telephone sounding voice.... Had to switch off.
And the fake smile
Why the heck she ended the video twice? Bad editing maybe?
Peugeot comes back to US market please.
Confirmed: www.caranddriver.com/news/a30269728/peugeot-return-usa-fca/
But we'll have to wait until 2026.
Very good design exterior but the internal is crap .
Rebecca 😍
no 4WD and AWD
1.2L in a freakin suv? Bwahahahahha now that's funny.
1.2 in 7 seater is puny If it was a 1.4 it would be fine
This peugeot 5008 from outside looks nice. But this is peugeot. Engineers are drunk. 1.2 petrol in family car. Serious engineers sick. Interior nothing special. Plus she said dont tuch sport mode? The 5008 slab
Jesus, do they have a school where they send motoring journalists to speak in this way? My voice goes way up and then slowly down, like a rollercoaster.
It's weird as heck. Just stop it. Trying to sound like Tiff...
Why do car reviewers speak in this over announced and ridiculous way? It's as if they all worship Robert Peston-Smith.
She's a cutie
I can't listen to her voice! It's like she googled how to talk like a presenter and mixed it with Allan Partridge
Over stylised in my opinion - seats look ugly too.
Wait instead of mentioning the wireless charging... You stick a banana in there 😒🤦🏻♂️ raves about the Allure... But is driving the GT line...
She doesn't know anything about the car.
She is just reading the article.
Believe me.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
