MAANINI Ashtanayika ft Khandita by Nirupama Rajendra

A clip from from the full length work “Maanini” featuring the Ashtanayika - Eight emotional states ! of a woman in relation to her hero which was performed for the solo drama festival at Wroclaw ,Poland.
In this, the heroine is angry ( Khandita) as she sees her lover with another woman.
While she had spent much of her time in the preparations of receiving the hero he appears late and that too in an inebriated state.
She chides him and asks him to leave her alone.
As this was aimed for an International solo drama festival , the abhinaya is explored using both Lokadharmi (realistic) and Natyadharmi (stylistic) in Abhinaya (communication) and functional music like real sounds of door opening , dance bols for angry talking , short rhythmic fragments through percussion & short flute phrases for the hero are applied to bring the best effect in sound.
