I am so impressed by her craftsmanship. A true artisan.
I bought one of Maryellen’s Maximilian crossbows. Beautifully made, hard hitting, and shoots straight. This video shows the depth of her talent and attention to detail. She was chosen for this video precisely for those reasons. Very well presented and informative. I highly recommend Swifthound Bows.
Thank you, John! So appreciated!
Thank you, John! So appreciated!
Yeah, I don't typically comment on videos like this, but I'm VERY impressed and inspired by your craftsmanship and excellence. Thank you.
Get you a girl that makes her own crossbows.
I fired My hunting crossbow when I first got it at a target (piece of decking with circle drawn on ) in my garden
It went straight through it through my shed door through a dehumidifier that was in the shed then out the other side and never found again
I now treat it with a lot more care a caution
Oof
I’d like a blue print of this bow and it’s dimensions. I do medieval reenactment and do a ton of archery and want to expand into making period crossbows. Do you know how I can get my hands on details of this crossbows build?
Look just super! Thank you for sharing!
amazing work!!!
Prawdziwa Dama z pasją :) Gratulacje i pozdrowienia z Polski !
They should have done a video on tods workshop for this he is way to good
I actually asked them why they did not do Tod instead of me!
@@m.vorburdwood.8354 u cheaper obviously
I'm going to make this medieval crossbow
I liked the crossbows I watched you make, real art. Do you sell such copies? I was injured and can't use my longbow anymore...shoulder issues, but I still want to use a period correct piece.
whats the draw weight of this one
Nice...
How do you determinate the draw length ?
Muito bom
رائع
you are making one bow powerful name
Ah yes, maybe we bigfoots can start using these on the humans who litter everywhere in the woods
OH MY GOD BIGFOOT
I'm your biggest fan. I saw you in Arkansas!
كيف صنعتم آلية الزناد؟
Misss I like your crossbow
Now I can build one for survival purposes
Exactly
Ikr
crossbows where not the most feard medieval weapon i would say it was the cannon but the fear from it wore of quickly after the time of crecy
plus they had sturrips as early as the beggining of the 13th century
Anyone else clicked on this thinking they can make this in the middle of the woods if they happen to be stranded?
Damn she a badass
Didn't show anything of the making of the metal the bow, trigger mechanism or loading foot rest, this just shows how to make the wooden stock which is the least important part of the process! This video should be titles "watch someone make a wood and bone stock for a medieval style crowsbow from a lomp of wood and several metal parts sourced elsewhere".
Also the crossbow in the final scene is not the one we watched her working on, there is no bone inlay😠
0-0-2 dart monkies:
*interesting*
from scratch? well that was a lie
Greek Gasaphates, dude...🤷🏽♂️
Bruh
Animals bones?
Humanely harvested camel bone. Is what I use for the inlay, sometimes, cow bone.
Im early
Ugly

The church banned all projectile weapons not just crossbows. However it wasnt listened too and the crossbow actually sucks at armour penetration due to its tiny draw length. Crossbows arm anyone and anyone can be very accurate with it. Doesnt take much strength or training to use either.
Jesus loves you
Context to the church trying to ban crossbows...yes...but they attempted to ban ALL archery.
Failed miserably obviously.
way too misbalanced. no precision, no mobility
Heh! Dude, you have no freaking clue! When you have made and shot medieval crossbows for 15 years, you come back and talk to me! Until then... STFU.
I lose respect for people who “replicate” traditional pieces with modern power tools. It loses the magic
Wish I could do that, but, I can't and make a living. I am not a hobbyist, this is my business, and thus, I do need to use some power tools. I simply do not have the time. Sorry...
And, I do not actually need your respect to make my living....
Don't listen to the trolls, you do beautiful work. I love this crossbow.
Would you rather we still graffitied the walls of our caves ??????
