I enjoyed getting to see Judy and Kelli when they first began the vision they are bringing on with the squad and organization now. My regard for the women on the squad is so high. I think its so valuable to see that they are just normal people who work exceptionally hard. One of the cheerleaders visited my son when he was on a ventilator in the ICU at Children's. It was Christmas 2006. He died a few weeks later, but I still remember hardly being able to talk, I was so touched.
I love the DCC on the sidelines BUT visiting the children and senior citizens is the best thing they do! I was talking to one of the DCC's mother two years ago and she said that her favorite was when they visited the senior citizens.
Judy probably had the longest hair in the squad's history. And she was one of the cutest faces too. That's probably why she's one of the most recognized members.
Love this… especially when Kelly said the prt about the soldier asking them to call his mom back home in TX… and I know they actually call. I teared up a bit.
LOL @ all the 90's fluffed up bangs and big hair. I probably wore mine the same way. Wow look at Kelli and Judy! They have both done an excellent job through all these years putting together a precise dancing team.
This younger Kelly has that "familiar face"-look, she looks like someone I've seen somewhere and I can't figure out who. She was so gorgeous really, still is. This whole program is so 90's I can't, so cool! The music, the way of speaking, style and fashion, THE HAIR oh my God I love it 😂 I'm probably on of the few who actually think 80's and 90's big hair style was awesome. Maybe bc I didn't live through it and didn't have to spend an hour getting it done. My mom definetely doesn't agree with me 🤣 Judy's hair is a whole other story 😳
This was wonderful. Interesting to see the more simplistic way of things in that nowdays it seems so tightly run-but that shows in the modern tv show more. This was different and fun. Not saying it very well. I love both and I too loved that movie as a kid in the 70s. Just watched it 6 months ago. I really admire their hard work. Thanks for the upload.
You are welcome Fran. Yes, it was much more simplistic long before 1992, that is not critical, but the 70's routines were different from the 80's and the 90's were different from today.
After watching the reality show “Making the Team”, I have perhaps a different impression of what is required for selection to the squad. Sure, the ladies must have sparkle, showmanship, and a dancing background. However, if the candidate does not have the right body type, then they can kiss their chances goodbye. Seems to me that looks and certain attributes are coveted more than actual talent. Ine can be a classically trained dancer, yet fail to make the team. A woman can work on her dancing, take classes, etc. It seems that rock hard abs, slim legs (not muscular) and a very slim figure are the “must haves” before one even thinks about trying out. Lastly, if the candidate cannot perform the kick line and jump split, they will not make the team. If I were a candidate, after ticking off the body type requirements, I would ensure I had a solid dance background and practiced the jump split until it was perfect. Watching the show, I am amazed when ladies state they have never performed a kick line or jump split. That is the signature move! Heck, I would have that jump split sometimes in my audition. Just a few thoughts.
As I watched the first 36 min of this clip I hoped and prayed one of the girls would mention self confidence. It wasn’t until 37:39 Kourtney Mitchell finally addressed questions in a relatable manner.
If you’re doing a special, shouldn’t you at least call them by the correct name?! The Dallas CowboyS cheerleaders. She kept saying Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders 🙄
Kelli and Judy carry themselves so well and are always so well-spoken and put together.

how strong and prominent was that texas accent! its been so diluted; you rarely hear it in dallas now. what a lost treasure!
I've always liked Judy, and her hair, Oh My Goodness, great hair
Judi is gorgeous

Kelli was super cute dancer! Id love to see more of Kellis' game day dance!

aww kelly
I wonder if they did any other specials like this? Its so interesting to see dcc in early years😀
The old school cheerleaders where so sweet
Kelli is aging backwards. So stunning. But also the 80s/early 90s make up and hair was definitely making women look older than they were.
@@rog9601 Known her personally?
She hasn't changed at all.
I think that Kelli is still the prettiest one on the team.
No mention of Suzanne Mitchell!!! 😱 She got let go a short time before this, but the snub is apparent.

Kelli is awesome in so many ways. What a woman.

I love this 💙
Cool, I remember watching the movie and have the DVD.
Those old-school pom-poms are huge!
and....loving it !
I love the interludes of the girls posing in various outfits after they interview them. It's very Star Search-esque
I think I'm in love with Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders.
I would say that is a YES.....
Seeing their big hair and colorful clothing, it would have been nice to live during that time frame.
It was !
Yes the 80’s and 90’s were fun!

The raiderettes ram and cowboy cheerleaders beautiful

Victoria's mom!
Kelli has gotten more attractive as she has gotten older.
I know, I really know, it is quite impressive too.
These days was wild! They would pimp these young girls out to any corporate party with no pay????? Disgusting!
The commentator says the name of the cheerleaders wrong every time. I’m surprised no on had corrected her.
Right?? It was bothering me
@ 0:57 great picture of Judy
They are Barbie Dolls!
They are much more than that.
Shorts are shorter and getting shorter. Had no belt then and now they have the belt.
1:50 The cheerleaders weren't founded in 1970 it was 1961.
And how we know them today (by uniforms) was 1972
27:04 Meredith Oden’s mom
They were allowed to put their hair up back then!
