If your boot loader is unlocked (us996), when do you let go and repress the power button? The logo shows up before the boot loader unlocked warning and after. Do you do it before or after?
Have been having major issues getting back into the phone - had a pin, flashed lineage 15.1 and now the pin doesn't work anymore... need to hard reset it or something along those lines...

if people did this trick without success , you may try hold the volumn down + power button until you see the reset menu, DO NOT release power button and press again .

What do you do if this doesn't work a safe mode logo came on mine. This phone is stuck on Welcome accessibility pops up when I turn it on. US Cellular did a factory reset on my phone in the store. Then told me to long into it I did then I couldnt remember my password. So I reset it. They didnt tell me I couldnt do that. Then a window came up saying I had to wait 72 hours. I waited the 72 still wouldnt let me log on. Went to us cellular after 4 hours they said my antenna was messed up? This phone was just a few months old no issues. All because I reset my password after a factory reset an 800 something dollar phone is screwed? Any ideas on what to do from anyone? Also tried a new sim card at the store it was still stuck on the screen.

Hard reset LG V20 LS997 Android 7.0 Nougat:
Press and hold the following keys at the same time: Volume Down Key + Power/Lock Key on the back of the phone.
